The MC sure is interesting, more shitty he is, more is the potential for his growing so it makes me hope so bad it will live with my expectations.

Ehhh...I'm not quite sure if I agree with that. Would everyone be a saint? That's highly doubtful, but I don't believe that everyone would act this way the moment that they got such powers. It seems very unlikely.

I mean really, he had a man crash into a wall just to talk a girl that he liked.

With that being said though, considering his age, I wouldn't find it hard to believe that most people in his age group would behave in such a way (albeit a lot less insane).

-----

Back on topic, I'm not quite sure if I like the MC or not yet. He has this aura of arrogance to him that I just can't stand. But at the same time, he does seem quite clever, and he has delivered some lines that I thought were quite humorous. So, I'll wait a bit before I decide on whether I like him or not.

This show seems pretty good so far. I can't wait for more!

Feels really unrealistic to me, Only because there forcing the protagonist to do something he doesn't want to do, and realistically, if he wanted, he could literally kill off both the other 2 protagonists (or have them arrested, or cripple them, or whatever) easily.
I can say that in that situation (granted, I wouldn't abuse the power in that fashion anyway) I wouldn't allow anyone to take away my freedom, But maybe it's more important to me then the main character. Or there using the financial situation to coerce him, I guess?
Donno, the loss of freedom thing kinda pisses me off I guess, even if the main character is a complete a**, he hasn't really hurt anyone, and he kinda got some punishment when the girl that liked him flat out tells him she doesn't want to date him (which, honestly, wouldn't have gone well for either of them)

By far the most interesting Key protagonist imo.

lmao you can already see where the tears are going to come from. These special abilities are going to represent something -- like, the main girl can go invisible because she always felt/feels invisible to other people or some shit.

ahahaha hey its Kanie in younger years

this probably the prologue of Amagi Brilliant Park
because they say they lost their powers when they become Adult that would be Kanie in Amagi
Just Joking

well the Yu reminds how Kanie talks and behaviors to other people around him

I dont why the title Charlotte I was expecting the girls name is Charlotte

Technically he did cause injuries though they were only minor. Also the same way he could kill them they could also do the same to him. And they have the numbers advantage.

So basically another Kanie Seiya (they are equal even in appearance o_O) but with a more rotten personality, but not quite as smart eh? (well he is methodical but academics aren't his forte).

Not sure what to make of Tomori. She still does not sell me well as a character and looks more of a troll than anything and a rather arrogant (in the bad sense) one. At the very least she gave this guy a good lesson.

The sister is funny as hell and that Yumi girl, is for all means and purposes a Diva. Basically she girly and stuff on the surface, but when she is pissed off, she won't have remorse on unleashing every she has to throw and looking down on you while doing so, eh? That was a real fail target. (even if I'm a sucker for long black-haired girls in pale skin).

That was a good first episode. The characters seem really interesting. Yuu is such a massive scumbag, I already love him.
Causing an accident to get closer to a girl? Check.
Using your power for perverted matters? Check.
Creating a huge lie that you're a super smart top student by cheating? Check.
The other two, Tomori and Joujirou, have good potential too. I'm kinda wondering how he keep his suit so clean with that crazy teleportation (or more like translation?) power.

I wonder where the plot will go. The fact that there are people with power and that both Yuu and his sister made the same dream seem way too convenient. I'm guessing there is someone with an amnesia power.

I get the feeling this will be another anime with a very intriguing story concept but sloppy execution. And from the the first episode, I kind of saw that. Granted, the animation was great, it had a unique atmosphere around it, but the writing was not impressive. It's like reading a VN, but animated. Started with the introduction of the protagonist complete with what was he all about through his inner thought, going about his daily life, met a girl he liked, & so on. It seems like Jun Maeda's skills in writing VN does not translate that well into an anime & make this really dull. But at least the protagonist was not generic & pretty refreshing, though I kind of annoyed by his grin. It's like the anime kept telling me in the face, "Look! He's an evil character! Look at the grin! Look at it!"

I really liked the first episode and this seems to be a very promising show. I was so interested in it that it felt like it flew by in a matter of minutes, and I really like Yuu. He reminds me of Lelouch and yagami Light which are two favorite characters of mine. Yuu also reminds of myself. Kind've an asshole and narcissistic, as well as good looking ;P

I wouldn't say evil, just spoiled. He was granted a limited superpower and used it in the only way he thought he could benefit from it. The other two characters, in showing him that he is not alone, actually have given him a chance to use his powers more productively. They have effectively seduced him by tying his cooperation to his sisters happiness.

PC Works animations always start incredibly, their animation is likewise top class. The one problem I have noticed is that their works are that they tend to fade in the end. If they can avoid this, then this should be a fun ride. If they cannot not, it will still be a decent ride, just frustrating in the end.

To be fair, although looking at others' answers is against test taking rules and the spirit of test taking, there are no rules that I am aware of that prevent "mind reading for answers" or "possessing someone for answers." And even if there were, he could just do all that before the test.

Tests are about what knowledge you acquire (that's the spirit of it) and how you can apply it when quizzed upon it (based upon a arbitrary scoring system usually), so using "mind reading powers" beforehand wouldn't be cheating or breaking the spirit of the rules. It simply just means he as another "library of knowledge" of sorts he can easily access (other people's minds).

The only real issue (beyond looking at people's answers physically in their bodies as opposed to their minds) is the obvious privacy violations in such a circumstance.

If they did try to make him look like a spoiled boy with that grin & showed it so many times, that's not the way to go. I think by his actions & his plentiful inner monologue would be more than enough to show the viewers that he's a spoiled boy.

What do you mean? The animation? Or the overall quality?

Interesting first episode. Didn't expect the plot to have supernatural aspects, expected another highschool romance drama of some sort. I do hope the MC gets a better attitude, throughout the whole episode until any moments he had with his little sister, it was very frustrating seeing how he manipulated others for such petty things with his powers.

They could, but there trying to use him for something, so he's got the advantage right now, I think what annoys me the most about him is he didn't even try to fight back, just ran away and took the beating. Has all this power but just lets her hit him? Seems wrong to me.

Besides the fact that, all he had to do was take control of her for 5 seconds and destroy the camera and they couldn't do anything to him :P

Better than the MC straight up killing someone. He deserved to be punched for what he did. That's exactly what he got. He could've killed a number of people, just to get with a girl who he hasn't met. Come on, If you were watching him abusing his power and almost getting people killed you would've done the same thing. Just like if you had his power at his age with raging hormones you would've done the same thing he did. Why don't you wait and watch a few more eps rather than jumping the gun?

Good first episode. Creates a mystery putting the nature of the world into question. Basically the usual Key stuff.

I'm just hoping they don't waste too much time on comedy like Angel Beats did and instead focus more on fleshing out the characters this time.

No OP/ED. That's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing those.

Remember your lesson from Angel Beats staff:

Less half-assed comedic bs, more actual story and character development

You're supposed to be telling a story. Let's hear it.

It was an ok pilot. I'll give it a few more episode to see how it is. I really want this to succeed honestly.
Will I fall in love someday? I wonder?

I actually don't have a problem with the comedy in Angel Beats and to be frank, I think Angel Beats needed to be a 2-cour series, comedy or no comedy to fully flesh out its story.

Even series like Clannad and Kanon had quite a few comedic moments, but what those two series had were 2-cours to completely flesh out its story, and in Clannad's case, a masterful 2-cour sequel. Angel Beats, for all intents and purposes, NEEDED two cours to fully flesh it out because I don't think it was physically possible to do it in two cours. Even if you did cut out the comedic moments entirely, I still think it would've been enough.

This was a slow start but it was very interesting. I like most of the characters so far other than the little sister. She's a bit overly stereotypical for my tastes. Also, it's refreshing to have the MC be a dick but actually suffer some sort of consequence for it rather than everyone simply accepting it as a normal fact of life. It's also interesting to see the way that they all utilise their different abilities.

Very promising start.

I've been waiting for this. Ever since I watched AB, I became fan of JM.

As for first the episode of Charlotte, I love it. The MC has an attitude that makes me enjoy watching it. I love it everytime he smirk and when he so proud of himself because of his ability.

I have a feeling that the reason he was caught is because Tomori overheard about him and she believes that it's too good to be true. Just guessing.

Anyway, I like the idea that even they have powers, nothing is still perfect. I feel sorry for Takajou though xD

Can I just say his sister totally reminded me of Fuko freaking out over the stars? Cuz' she totally did.

Anywho not a bad start IMO. I appreciate the fact that they deliberately portrayed the MC as a totally cynical scumbag - it leaves a lot of room for character development and the potential exploration of the human psyche.....which is always fun.

I'm a little worried that this might become somewhat formulaic in the middle because they mentioned something about helping students with other powers....but hopefully those characters the MC has to help are more secondary to the plot.

I'm also a little intrigued by the hypothesized sibling...I'm hoping that will help if this series does end up taking the episodic formula into play.

Overall while bits of this seem pretty cliche I'm definitely intrigued and expecting/hoping for some more character depth. So glad they skimped on the opening/ending because this episode definitely needed the extra time.

Are they starting a new trend, or is it just a visual novelists thing? First Uchikoshi and now Jun. Do they really think just because they said that before hand they can excuse the quality of their works? They should be confident and dedicated right from the start, that's how you gain respect from others, imagine going to a restaurant the chef told you the meal will be good after the second course, how professional.
