It's a shame they changed the OP, which was already a hallmark of this anime.

It's weird not hearing Pink blood anymore, I'm going to miss it.

The part most criticized by readers, I'm still hyped despite my slight disappointment with season 2.

Hayase has quite a genetic heritage. Centuries later, her descendants still look just as much like her. I can't wait to see how her relationship with Fushi will evolve.
@WilliamMinerva20 The Jpop group performing the OP, Perfume seem to be pretty popular in Japan even after being 20+ years in the business (going on hiatus next year though). I looked up some videos of their concerts and they are very impressively done.

Truck-kun has met his match! ROFLMAO He cannot kill a truly immortal being. Yes, they already tried to make me cry, but it didn't quite work. However, Mizhua's Mother is another one of those Asian Mothers we all love to hate.

What a bizarre first episode.

Even by anime standards some of the newer characters got way too friendly and too comfortable with Fushi way too fast. Maybe it's just me.

I remember stopping reading the manga shortly after this because I didn't like the direction the story was heading to. Fushi became too OP for my liking, and he was still acting too naive for someone who lived 1000s of years (I am not talking about him being surprised at modern stuff, that's understandable).
Saying that, the new opening (the song was awesome, I might like it even more than Pink Blood) and the first episode gave me some hope for the future. I like the visuals and the teasers of future events in the opening and I like how the episode was directed.

I actually find the drastic change in setting really refreshing and im curious where they are taking this Mizuha character and how her lineage is gonna clash with Fushi. Really I think I find fushi such a loveable character I probably will enjoy this season alot off of him even if its as weak as people have said this last 3rd is.

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

The new main girl (Mizuha I think her name was?) definitely is giving off hints that she's of Hayase/Hisame's lineage and I'm not sure how I feel about that....(though I guess it was Hayase that was the purely psycho one and the later part of the lineage from season 2 well...wasn't THAT bad...)

@zz2000 More than just being pretty popular, Perfume is one of the most famous girl groups in Japanese pop history, there is hardly anyone in Japan above the age of 20 who doesn't know them! They haven't done a lot of anime themes before because their music doesn't really lend itself to it, but they finally got a proper OP song so I've caught up on this show just because of them hahaha.

Good choice of performance! That was one of their best Tokyo Dome concerts and that says a lot!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

Love the fact to your eternity is back! I’m so happy but I’m not gonna lie I was expecting pink blood again for the OP for this season. That intro is just so damn good. Never the less first episode was awesome great way to start and the place I left off in the manga so I’m going In blind to what will happen!

I would expect Fushi's journey to have become mythology, not for him to be relegated to something believed by occult researchers. When he got hit by the truck and that guy was posting videos of him on the net, I thought everyone would realize who he was.

First second after seeing Mizuha's face. "I think we're gonna have to kill this girl." "Damn"

I liked The Beholder haunting Fushi around.

Next drink will/could be a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

I wonder the threshold of who to to bring out far away. "Yeah, March can deal with it alone. But better bring Eko in safety, with me." -Fushi
@BlichoBoy it's about where they belong. Eko didn't have a place to belong because she was in that show.

@AhmedJafar1 I don't get how Fushi becomes too OP. He is immortal and can make anything that has stimulated him. It's expected that as the story goes on more things will stimulate him and he will be able to recreate those things which add up. I think the only really increase in his power was when it was revealed he could bring back people.

@Kanelbullar It's not just you, I found it absolutely jarring. Like the modern world has turned everyone stupid, and Fushi gives no regard for anyone's well being or even his own.

Avid enjoyer of Sci-fi, mysteries, and serious drama anime, although anything with good writing could probably hook me in. Love is War doesn't apply to any of these, but the dub still gets my 10/10. Anyways, Rio Futaba is best girl.

Stuff happened, don’t ask me what, because I couldn’t even begin to explain or remember, and now we’ve somehow jumped to modern day Japan, where our boy Fushi has just woken up. Schools, students, buildings, it all looks perfectly normal. Except ofc, nothing in this show ever is normal. So what’s strange this time? Familiar faces are reappearing in random places.

There's also the whole thing with Kahak’s descendant, a gifted and beautiful child, is being abused, driven so far she’s on the verge of suicide... Honestly, this might be the first time I’ve really felt that this comes from the same author as A Silent Voice. Well, then we quickly snap back to the goofy tone this show is known for. What’s not so goofy though, is how these kids don’t exactly seem like the brightest bunch, aside from Kahak’s descendant that is. Like bro just invited a total stranger he met less than 30 seconds ago to his house because he thought he was cool or something... like what lmaooo.

Anyway, Fushi and the new main girl finally meet at the end, so let’s see where things go from here. Also, that new OP fucking sucks. They honestly should’ve just kept the Utada one ngl.
@IzanaSolos don't worry I don't think much fans of the series want to explain this last 90 chapters of this series. such a fall off from greatness

After watching this I’ve decided to let the season finish before continuing. I can already tell there’s going to be a bad fall off and I don’t want to get invested for weeks for that to happen. I’ll skim through once it’s finished.

Great start for this arc, i didn't know what i expected but i already dig the vibe and new cast, for a supposed SOL and comfy arc judging by the opening it seems to have it's share of drama, i also wonder if Fushi's companions can grow older and live in peace in this era,

Anyhow expecting to cry a lot watching this as usual

Oh and ending visual is absolutely spectacular

Perfume for the new OP! :D Also now after the timeskip the story takes place in modern Japan so it's already interesting, that Yuuki guy and his family are cool and they're not afraid of Fushi and his transformations... but there seems to be something going on with Mizuha though, it's also sad how she's suffering because of her mom.

Yeah, I meant the fact that he now can bring people to life is what made him to OP for me. It's still understandable, but it just took a lot of tension and emotion from the story.

After what probably has been a millenia or so FUshi finally awakens to modern times, once peace was set in the world after such a devastating war between him and the Nokkers. This one has modern technology such as trucks and cellphones. Even an Occultic club with an overly eager member called Aoki who met Fushi by chance, revealing his transformations. It seems that now the dynamic will see him living with his family along with his companions. At least only the ones who didn't find the place where they belong.

After season 2 I didn't think the series could reinvent itself yet here we are with another promising 22 episodes.

Man, I missed To Your Eternity. Can't believe it's been 3 years since last season already. I probably should've rewatched Season 1 and 2 because I barely remember anything... But I still enjoyed this episode. The new OP is a banger.

Changing the setting to modern day in the 3rd season is such a drastic change. I don't think I've seen any other anime do something like this. It feels strange but also very exciting. The new characters seem interesting. I wonder what Mizuha's deal is. Her mom is the annoying kind. But why does she seem so familiar?

I feel like since the setting is modern and "peaceful," the focus will probably be about the people's internal struggles, not that the last seasons weren't about that too. But this time, there will probably be less if not no violence. Unless the story goes in the direction of showing modern warfare and how humans are still rotten. That'd be something. Can't wait to see the whole gang reunite in the next episode. I don't understand why Fushi couldn't revive all his friends like he did with Eko lol.

Manga folks said this is the worst arc, and I agree that this whole thing is bullshit. But at least the animation is moving now (for now).

And do I even mention how bad this season is? Literally, there's like 1 or 3 shows worth watching. I might actually just watch OPM and Uma Musume at this point.

I was so overjoyed by this episode. I feel a tiny bit like Fushi — after a really long wait, we finally get to enjoy the peaceful times, and just have fun with friends, old and new. Knowing past seasons, I expect some kind of disaster will strike, but I'm ready for it. This series has taught me to live each happy moment to its fullest, no matter what comes after.

Season 2 already nose-dived hard enough, but here we are, still kinda free-falling. Not sure how to feel about this one. You can't even say it's the adaptation doing things, because nah, this is actually how the source has been written.

Another 20-something episodes incoming… let’s just pray it doesn’t end with everyone casually house-hunting on Mars or something lol.
@Softhenic03 Not sure what you dislike about this start lol This entire arc is pretty amazing. Not anyone's fault if you think the time between seasons makes it feel like a "nose-dive".

@KariNull He's mostly just a hater who can't be objective nor fair. The only time this show nosedived was after episode 1, where episode 1 was a perfect 10/10, whereas the rest of season 1 and season 2 hovered a whole 1.5 points lower. It's hard to imagine what this show can do to go back up to the amazing experience from the first episode.

S2 was kind of a downer for me. Let's hope this one is better. Though if I remember correctly, he can just revive people now, so we may not even face life-threatening situations now. Probably something like that mom expecting way too much of her daughter, and some emotional moments revolving around those.

Ok, so I'm not sure I like any of the new characters. Especially Yuuki, he kinda creeps me out and feels very spoilt.

Also, Fushi?? Why did you drop your friends off in random places and not altogether like you did with Horse and Eko??

Something just doesn't seem right... Maybe it is meant to feel abrupt, we will see.
Get excited, I suppose.
