As predicted Komurasaki is still alive, though I wonder how she survived that. I really want an explanation, but I won't get my hopes up. They actually put some budget into this episode, but the fight was way too short.

This episode was so hype! Training and tournament! The flashbacks and the sword fight! Return of the geisha!

Oh also Big Mom amnesia is great. The foreshadowing with her, the red bean soup, and Queen.

Like I said in the last episode, I really like Luffys self reflection and that he tries to get stronger. If he's able to master his haki like Rayleigh he will reach a new lvl and it will help him a lot of future fights. Seems like Queen is also enjoying the show Luffy delivers to him.

If Queen eats more of the Ochiruko and Big Mom arrives at the prison without getting anything of it, oh boy she will be pissed haha.

Best part was definitely the second half, especially when Komurasaki and Toko got attacked by Kamazo who seems btw like a pretty crazy guy. I'm sure it's very uncommon to see someone with scythes in an land with samurai. The fight scenes so far looked dope and it comes to something, if Zoro mentions that this guy is strong. He don't often hear this of him.

God damn this cliffhanger. Can't wait for sunday. I'm sure the fight will be a good one.

It would be interesting to see how everything will end with Big Mom, is she gonna get her memories back soon? Is she going to beat the shit out of Queen? Lol that gonna be awesome. Anyway, what's happening with Luffy? Use conqueror's haki as an invisible armor damn and get rid of the armament haki. And who's that big guy hoarding all those weapons? I don't think he's been properly introduced yet.

LOL why exactly did they (studio) turn simple fodders like Batman and Gazelleman into noteworthy characters?? These guys cant even use haki canonically. Damn.....

Is good to see that after 900+ episodes, One Piece still has these 1st season filler villains

They seem like fodder characters compared to 1st season but luffy has also grown immsenly stronger. I would say alot of these fodder enemies are about equalivent to taking out like 4 or 5 different Kuro's or don kriegs combined from season 1. The generals are probably more equlivent to a CP9 agent.

But rest assured there is still plenty of kaido's forces that has not fully been revealed yet. I think with every type of pirate crew, there is always going to be a sort of hiarchy where you get your canon fodder soldiers and peons in the group. I think that is going to be the case for most of the adventure through one piece because the world is all interconnected. But it may change when they start traveling unkown waters on the way to raftel. It will be like visiting Eden a place that has never been traversed by human so then you will most likely get a race of obsurdely strong characters in some of these dark unexplored territories.

Things are picking up both with pacing and fight choreography! This fight between Zoro and (Killer) looks like it is going to be epic but why doesn't he have an obnoxious laugh?

As others have mentioned, I think we see an interesting shift in One Piece starting at the time skip period, however becoming especially prominent in Whole Cake. That is, explicit focus on training and surpassing limits. You could argue that this has been the case ever since Crocodile or Water 7, especially with gears. but I feel it has become especially notable ever since we had the haki training. Along with a convenient and effective method of training flashbacks to implement new fighting knowledge whenever necessary, we see Luffy training new abilities. we see him facing an opponent that he knows he cannot defeat, looking inside himself, and stating that he must improve in the heat of combat. The self-reflection and determination is a focus within Luffy and for the audience in a distinct way. In the way he began to tap into observation haki more than ever, it seems this arc will focus the same on armament!

Zoro's scene also has a lot to think about. Firstly, the conflict between sword collector and Shuisui holder immediately makes me fascinated because both sides should be able to see each other's perspectives if meeting Ryuma were believable. We know for a fact Zoro knows the weight blades carry. He has taken a sword from a man who staked his dream on it, as well as from his childhood friend which did the same, they lived through the blades. Further, he knows how important they are to send off properly, for a man who never prays to any god, he certainly gives his blades a proper burial. This is why both of these men should be on the same side really, and I think they could respect each other, which may start to occur when the sword collector sees the kind of guy Zoro really is.

The episode title was quite endearing in the way that it didn't spoil anything yet told the entire story. Zoro fights a duel, it just may not be with the sword collector after all. I found that this scene also alluded to Zoro's sense of chivalry. One could easily say, any reasonable person would not want a woman and child to be killed in front of them, but nonetheless to ask how he could specifically slice a woman made me think of Monet once more and what she told us about Zoro. Just another fascinating aspect to the scene and his character if you really want it to be there.

Lastly, I liked the scene for just simply how cool it was... The build up music that started as soon as Zoro accepted the job of protecting Komurasaki and Otoko got me on the edge of my seat without even realizing it. And I love snow, seeing Zoro slide around in it as he fights is so so so awesome.

Zoro being burdened by a woman and a child (namely; Komurasaki and Toko) all the while having to fight off two capable swordsmen simultaneously is the kind of training Zoro need more of.

What a fight! Zoro sliding in the snow while fighting was a cool effect. It was interesting seeing a simple duel turn suddenly into a 2 on 1 fight.

So much win between Luffy & Zoro this episode. It's great to see how Luffy's growth in the New World has revolved around adapting & learning during his battles. He honed his observational haki in his duel with Katakuri and now it seems like it's time for his armament haki to get upgraded before the big showdown with Kaido. Rayleigh's technique was always in the back of my mind since I'd noticed Luffy wasn't using it during Fish-Man Island and wondered why.

I knew that most beautiful lady in Wano was not dead, but for her to reappear with Zoro was a surprise. Also Nami, Robin, and Brock made a huge mistake and not taking her with them. Nami so good with kids it surprised me she do that. Very interested to see how she survived.

The ticking time bomb that is big mom is making me nervous each episode lol
