Pretty funny episode. Felt a bit rushed though. Did they skip over the whole ressing of the two blue rose that got killed or did that never happen? Was expecting some sort of meeting dialog there.

It does seem strange, but even in the light novels the resurrection happened off-screen. All we really missed here in that regard was Ainz asking a few more questions about how resurrection magic works in this world.

Is she a bard? Not sure I understood that part, I thought she was a wiz.

It's a little confusing here, but it's explained as part of this same inner monologue in the LNs that Evileye had always scoffed at bards for the ridiculousness of stories where the hero scoops up the damsel in distress and fights while carrying her in his arms... until this moment where the warrior she's suddenly become infatuated with scoops her up to fight with her in his arms and her heart flutters like a giddy schoolgirl and she apologizes in her head for every time she's ever made fun of those bards and their stories. And then the punchline comes when he carries her less like a princess and more like a sack of potatoes, because logically that's way more efficient if he's going to keep fighting, especially with her small stature.

Something like that. In the previous episode, she made a deal with Zanac (her brother) and Marquis Raevan (which the anime kinda rushed through, so it wasn't as clear as it could have been) to arrange things such that they would use the raids on the Eight Fingers to find the evidence they needed to kick their oldest brother out of the running for the throne so Zanac could be next in line for king; Renner would be engaged to and eventually marry Raevan's currently 5-year-old son to strengthen his position in the nobility; and she would have a child with climb while Raevan's son could have a child with whatever woman he wanted, they would be raised as part of the royal family, and Zanac and Raevan would help cover it up. The anime didn't really mention it, but Renner intentionally set the deal up so that none of them could rat out any of the others without admitting to their own wrong-doing, so no one could back out. Her idea to send Climb on a suicide mission, then have him resurrected and nurse him back to health is meant to help along his willingness to secretly have an extra-marital child with her. How well that will work out, only time shall tell.

At least Sebas is still cool.

I wonder if Ainz remembers on some level that he's actually a human being stuck in that body? He has an incredible lack of giving a damn about people's lives.

The whole Evileye crush thing was a bit silly. All the more so since she was nearly murdered in this episode by the guy she's crushing on. Can't see her lasting for very long. A number of ridiculously strong people lined up to murder her for that reason alone.

Well let's hope the last episode is strong and maybe the fake fight with Ainz and Demiurge continuation cant have some thrills to it.

You're welcome! It is one of the weaknesses of this anime, a lot of the subtler details are lost because they have to cut things down to fit within the allotted time span, not to mention some things are just harder to convey in anime than in a novel.

It's a complicated issue that isn't well addressed in the anime. Up to this point in the LNs, Ainz has questioned multiple times whether his undead form is causing him to lose his humanity and move further away from his former self as Satoru Suzuki, but he hasn't really had time to sit down and think about it extensively. The anime hasn't really done as much with that, since they have to move so much faster.

What was that? A satisfying episode? What is this, season 1 again?

Have I mixed something up or was Brain Unglaus a bandit in the past? So why is everyone acting like he is their best buddy? Well, who cares. Renners Dog and that other sword guy like him, so the lower adventurers see no harm in it.

Evileye getting all girly for Momon, I could see this as an actual item - Turn vampires back to humans and add them to your party, or harem, or whatever you fancy.

Nabe getting angry at her, nice. I wonder how strong Evileye is in comparison to the other maids?

thats kinda sad, I totally support skipping or rushing some of the politics, but developement for the MC should never get cut, especially since he has so little this season. I liked how he was remembering his old friends, but having them cut him questioning his actions because of humanity and emotions sucks

He's always been about not doing anything as long as it doesn't benefit Nazarick in some way. This has been his mentality about the new World since day 1

He was running as a mercenary for awhile, which included working with the bandits Shalltear decimated in season 1. But most people don't know that; the reason he's so recognized was a public exhibition match sometime before the start of the series with Gazef, the captain of the Royal Select (the one he's currently staying with), who's hailed as the strongest in the Kingdom. He was on-par with Gazef and only narrowly lost, so his strength is well recognized.

According to character profiles from the LNs, Entoma is level 51. Characters who weren't part of the game Yggdrasil don't always have specific level information, but Evileye is estimated to be around the equivalent of level 50, and happened to have a hard-counter to Entoma in her Vermin Bane spell. Entoma, however, I believe has the lowest level of the maids; Narbarel sits at 63, for example.

Chizu is the lowest level maid as level 48 I believe. But Entoma is a more support-like character so we can assume she is the weakest in terms of 1v1 combat. Other maids are a bit stronger with levels around 55-63.

Very rushed episode but a really enjoyable one. It felt like 5 minutes and I can't believe next week will be last, I really hope a season 3 is possible in the future.

Ainz vs Demiurge was nice but felt a bit underwhelming compared to Evileye's fight last episode. It was also surprising to find out that Ainz didn't know about the plan but still was able to put up a good act.

Evil eye sudden change of personality was so adorable and cute and I had a blast watching her interactions with Ainz and I hope we get some more in the next episode.

Princess Renner smile at the end literally sent chills down my spine. I wonder if Climb will ever figure out her messed up personality lol

Ah, right. Well, to be fair, I've been keeping up with the official English release of the LNs, so I've only read through volume 6 (the end of this season)... I think there was one kind of off-hand mention of her up to this point... I'm not even 100% whether it was in the LNs or the anime honestly.

I was hoping Brain, Climb and the thief would beat Zero before Sebas shows up. That would be a good match rather than a one-sided easy win.
The voice actress did a good job on Evileye. Even with a mask, you can feel her facial expression through her voice. So it seems she isn't human from the clues she given.
I didn't know Ainz wasn't aware of Demiurge's plan, this is going to be interesting.

This season will cover to the end of volume 6, so if you feel you must skip to this point, start with volume 7. I would strongly suggest starting from the beginning, as the LNs offer a lot deeper detail, stronger characterization, explain some things better, and there have been a few things here and there cut completely from the anime (the one that stands out most in my mind was a major scene in volume 3 with Albedo's "sister"). Also, the official English release, at least in the United States (I can't speak for anywhere else) only currently goes to volume 6, with volume 7 coming out near the end of May... I can't speak for anything unofficial.

Difference between being "edgy" and "creepy" (which is not exactly correct for her, she is bat*insane) is the fact that one is actually planning to go through the crap said. Teenagers these days are edgy. But her? Oh no.

Yeah, yeah, we get that Renner is a Yuno Gasai wannabe already: we've already had two post-credits scenes making that clear, so a third one at this point feels gratuitous and pointless. The fights were once again a massive letdown, over way too quickly and with little to no effort put in to them in terms of animation. Only interesting thing is what Demiurge is actually up to and what Ains is going to be forced to do to him to maintain his reputation. But, of course, this second season is more interested in boring characters like Climb and Brain, so we'll get more of them instead of the actual main character again, I'm sure.

I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't show the resurrection and Ainz meeting Lakyus, since I assume that the resurrection did take place. Evileye being all lovey-dovey with Momon was weird, but I guess that adds another loli to his harem xD
Sebas' fight was short as expected. It actually surprised me that Ainz was just there by accident and had no plan to fight with Demiurge in the first place. Wonder what Demiurge's plan is though aside from burning down half the city ^^;
Only one episode left... it's just never enough >_<
