| Luffy's power is so useless compared to Ace's. Luffy would have almost no problems for most of the series so far if he had that power. Also, like someone mentioned above, this episode would have been better if they didn't mention that they were brothers over and over throughout the episode (even though I already knew before watching). |

| Well, now that we're seeing the naming conventions, I'm betting Gold D. Roger was Luffy's dad... or maybe he was his grandpa depending on how much time has passed. Or maybe it's just a coincidence, and they're using the naming convention to draw parallels between the two characters. Anyway, I wonder what the "Will of D" is, despite something carried between all three of them. |

| I'm so excited for the rest of this arc! "I don't need to live a thousand years, I just need to live today." Really cool words of wisdom, I wonder if they reflect Ace on a deep level, perhaps his philosophy on life? I find him really amusing, he's a weird mix of genuinely cool and genuinely dorky that I don't know if I've ever seen before. The restaurant scene was one of my favorite in the series so far. My two favorite parts were when Luffy ate for like a minute as Smoker stood in front him and slowly thought to himself, while stuffing his face, trying to remember who he was and then spitting some out of shock and running away like a chipmunk. And second is when Ace walked through the building which the family eating and apologized for disturbing their dinner. Another highlight being when Ace used the poor lady who wanted to help him's dress to wipe up his face. How can a man so cool, do something as disgustingly absent minded as that, and then considerately apologize to a family he interrupted. Perhaps the hardest I've laughed at One Piece. Also regarding the entire dynamic of Smoker and Ace, it's one of the things I've been wanting to see all of One Piece. Two guys who fight for (probably) just beliefs and dreams fighting each other. Neither are wearing an evil view on their sleeve yet both are in a vicious fight. When Luffy fights Smoker for real, assuming that happens, we'll probably get to see that in detail. Seeing Luffy's expression turn from shock to absolute happiness knowing his big brother is here made me smile. One final thought, if Crocodile is a poorly written character, or at least a shallow one(think of Wapol or Buggy) we're in for a massive disappointment. However, since OP isn't the kind of show to disappoint I'm assuming and expecting Crocodile to be someone on the tier of Arlong in all honesty which leads me to predict this arc will live up to Arlong arc if it stays as strong as these starting episodes have been. |

| Ace and Smoker reunited with their mutual target in a way none of them had ever expected. Who knew that Luffy would come in crashing into them and make them crash through several walls? If he can fight off a Desert Strawberry's poison, he'll be fine. With Luffy being a rubber man, it's pretty surprising that his older brother would be a fire-controlling Logia user. He's awesome! |

| AYO. So his name is Portgas D Ace, and he's Luffy's nii-san??? He also happens to be the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard pirates. And on top of that, he has eaten the Flare-Flare fruit which is just badass. Didn't we hear about Blackbeard in the Drum Kingdom? Is Whitebeard his brother of smth? Wasn't Ace hunting Blackbeard? Smoker and Tashigi are here so there's bound to be even more chaos. We can't forget about Mr 3 and the others too. I wonder if they'll fight against Sir Crocodile now since he wants to have them killed. |

| Somehow I knew Smoker was already in Alabasta and I called it when he intercepted Sanji's phone call to Crocodile he was going to be waiting for the Straw Hats already there and I was right. Oh yeah I haven't got into detail about Crocodile who did make his proper introduction back two episodes ago. The people in Alabasta view him as a hero which quite honestly I don't believe for a sec, considering his so called "rescue" looked more murderous than heroic and he didn't even flinch from the stab wounds he received, does paint a more sinister image there considering he keeps calling his "worshippers", peasants, he's plotting something big I can feel it. Anyways the point is Smoker is back and of course looking for Luffy. But he wasn't the only one who was looking for him but albeit for completely different reasons, newcomer Portgas D Ace. A character I'm kind of familiar with and I finally get to see what his connection to Luffy is, a big brother. Ace is certainly a cool character who has an awesome devil fruit power in the form of fire and is a pretty slick guy but also has a bit of a dorky side to him which goes to show you can be similar to your sibling without looking a like. Oh but the best part was definitely when all three of them are in the restaurant. So many hilarious moments from Luffy continuously eating his food even Smoker confronts him, Ace apologising to a family for interrupting their meal as well as Smoker and Ace being send flying through several walls by Luffy. XD God I was laughing so hard for several minutes straight. It was that good. Just an awesome episode, just an awesome episode. 'Nuff said. |

| Luffy has quite the badass brother. I like that he loves food and misspelled his own name in the tattoo. He's also the third character with the D. middle name. I feel like that's something to keep track of, if the end of the last arc is any indication. I do wonder why he has a different last name from Luffy though. |
