Wait until it's done because I always marathon them, but depending on my attention span I might stop watching early if I'm working on other hobbies.

Every season around 40-60 TV anime start airing. Depending on your taste you could enjoy various percentages of this amount, but most likely you won't really like more than 5-10 of them. It's much easier to determine which ones you'll like after they've finished airing and the people who watched them while they aired released their opinions of them rather than going in blind picking 10-20 anime and only liking 20% of them. Life is too short to waste on shitty seasonals.

I only watch completed series, so I wait until it's done.

If it's a long runner though, I'd probably just wait for a good amount of episodes (Maybe like in the range of 40-50?) to be released and start watching slowly.

It depends. If it's a one-cour series, I'll probably wait until it's done so I can marathon. If it's 20+ episodes, I'll watch a few episodes here and there until its completed and then finish the rest. For long runners like One Piece or Gintama I keep up with them because I don't wanna get too far behind.

I'll watch after its done airing. I like to watch anime all at once, if I watch it little by little I usually forgot what happened in the last episode.

Depened, if the show is hyped before it is aired i'll follow it weekly to see how people react to it. Less popular shows is a gamble as i can't tell if it'll be worth watching or not, so waiting for it to finished airing and check the review would be best to decide whether to marathon it or not.

The ones that spark my interest the most i watch while they are airing, others (that i'm not so interested about, but heard great things in regard to those series) i simple wait for to them to be finished to go and watch it.

I usually will watch the anime while it is airing. That said, I actually waited for 'Haikyuu season 3' to air before watching all of it because I couldn't watch one episode and wait on cliff hangers. It's too mentally painful.

If it's a lot of Episodes I'd go for Airing.

But if it's 20 or 12 below, I'll go for Completed.

If that series didn't mention how many Episodes, I'll go for Airing.

So yeah, mostly Airing.

Usually depends. If it's something I've been waiting for for eternity, I sorta just jump right into it.
If it's something I found with an interesting storyline, I'm able to wait until the anime is finished. Though, I much prefer waiting till it's finished airing so I don't have to anxiously wait every week.

I wait until the anime is finished. I like to binge watch my series, and I cant do that if I have to wait a week in between each episode.

I watch 1-3 shows while it's airing and save the rest for when it's finished. I usually wait a couple of weeks for the episodes to stack about before watching them though.

A bit of both. Lately i've watched less airing shows.

Bit of both here too, only atm I'm watching more airing shows, kinda depends on the season quality and the types of shows, some are better to binge watch then others.

I watch both, but I tend to watch more airing shows for the last 6-7 years. Before that it was mainly already aired shows.

Depends. I'd probably watch a lot more series while they're airing, but:
1) Most anime on my list aired before I started watching actively (1-2 years ago).
2) Even though I added a lot of anime before they aired since then, they usually finish airing before I get around to watching them.

I watch as there airing I don't usually have any trouble keeping up with anything and I don't mind waiting for the next episode as it gives me something to look forward to.
When it comes to older anime or an anime that is completely finished i'll watch as many episodes as I can until I eventually get too tired to stay awake anymore.

Airing. I can organize better my time like this. If I decided to wait till the anime ends then I would accumulate way too much episodes to see.
And there's is the spoilers too. People will always talk about airing anime, and you can always get spoiled, and that sucks.

Waiting is better especially if you really really liked the anime because the feeling of an episode of your favorite anime that is almost done espicially on the good parts is very heavy because it usually leaves cliffhangers.

The anime I want to watch are usually over when I start them. "Recently" I've watched One Punch Man and I had to wait one week every episode. Same happened with Attack on Titan a few years ago.

Ehhh, I like either. Some series like one piece never stop, but it's not like I'm caught up on that.

But it can be a lot of fun waiting for a new episode to drop...

Because it's a lot easier to manage time for release days than it is to set up a binge watching schedule. Especially since I'm not a fan of binge watching and prefer to pace shows out anyway so what better way than to watch them weekly while also having the variety of airing shows all laid out before me every 3 months.
Which also keeps my week very occupied ie. this season I think the longest day for releases is like 6 episodes and no day is shorter than 3 so it's a perfect balance that also lets me focus on non-airing if I choose to do so while also somewhat encouraging me to keep relatively up to date.
The other side note obviously being cliff hangers are pretty much made for weekly airing and can add an extra experience that is lost from binging while episodic series can turn into a nice change of pace during a long week.

I generally do because I like the excitement of waiting week to week for the new episode. If I just finish a season in one go I'll get anxious whether or not there'll be a new season.

Agree with op. Also because most of the time i discover anime that i may like (based on my favourite genres) only when are already finished. Watching anime while airing is simply not my style. Same for Tv series.

if it's a normal series, yeah it doesn't matter to me. But if it's a series that has like 5-8 min episodes then I would definitely rather stock up on episodes to watch.

Wrong section... but mods are lazy AF

I like watching airing anime personally. It gives me something to look forward to every season.

I prefer to watch anime that's finished airing. Or at the very least, just wait until the hype's died down.

I actually prefer to watch anime when it's airing. When I find some shows not too interesting but don't want to drop them it's easier to watch one ep a week. And if there's anime that I like a lot, it's so exciting to wait every week for the new episode.
