Everything was perfect.. But my god... all the subs that are available are so bad... like.. wow... did they use google translate?

Not sure if Tokyo Ghoul ripped off of this or this ripped off of Tokyo Ghoul. I have nothing to complain about with the art style. I adore the soundtrack but the horrible translation is what ruined my experience with the first episode of this series.
Don't believe the hype.

Ajin started about 6 months after Tokyo Ghoul, but I think it's more of a coincidence. At the beginning, they appear to be similar, but later on they are very different. I personally would associate it more with Parasyte than Tokyo Ghoul.

Very nice CGI I think. Somehow remind me to Sidonia and God Eater.
Anyway, the protagonist surrounding by fear to other people. His childhood friend also really really cool and badass.
Hmmm....yeah. I will give 7/10 for this first episode.

damn another good series ruined due to people's stupidity.
only the op and ed is good
guess the only good anime this season is Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi. AOTS material for sure now.

I VERY Disagree with YOUR Opinion there. Never i have kept toness of shows after episode 1. I am currently at 20.

It looks like shit.. I'm surprised that its basically the same exact deal as with those movies. It would have at least been watchable if the framerate of the actual animation was anywhere near acceptable to film standards.

Ajin is a good manga that i'm currently reading, i highly recommend it for anyone that is put off by the animation and is interested in the story.

Forgetting the awful CG, that was a terrible as fuck episode anyways. It's essential Tokyo Ghoul with EDGY EDGY bs. Cuz edgy automatically means mature! Disgusting. Into the trash can it goes along with most of this season's Anime.

How early is too fast in the narrative, all the steps are respected, but the pace is too exaggerated that leaves no time to reflect on the events. The 3DCG is not very good, but the setting is suited to situational context, while not convincing me, I want to continue watching this series.

i honestly cant believe many people said that animation isnt important/doesnt matter/who cares... like... why are you even watching stuff then? i mean, i think that what makes a good show (other than the characters, the ost, the plot etc) is also the animation. ajin could have had an AMAZING anime adaptation, if only they didnt decide to go full cgi. i wouldnt have cared either about the 3D if only the mob characters or the ajins were done in cg (like for fighting scenes and such), but adapting a manga like ajin in a FULL 3d anime is just... wrong. i dont know if the movie(s) have better animation, but the episode that aired on tv was pretty bad. some movements looked really stiff and the characters expressions... let them rip. i mean, if you like the cg its fine, everyone has their personal taste, but please dont say its the best 3d ever because its clearly not.

can't complain about the voice actors tho because mamoru miyano always does an amazing job and i'm sure his portrait of kei will help me survive this series, same goes for hosoya yoshimasa and sakurai takahiro. the op isnt that bad, and same goes for the song of the ending but that ugly powerpoint slideshow... again, we could have had better things lol.

i would give ajin a straight 5/5 because the manga is amazing and i really suggest everyone to read it, even the people who are sceptic and say that its a 'tokyo ghoul rip-off'. (trust me, it's much better than this.) sadly, the cg really kills me so for now its a 2/5. i'll watch it anyway tho because i want to see if they'll stay faithful to the manga or not.

I don't know about anyone else, but what I watched the subs were terrible.
Intense first episode and really interested to how the story is going to progress.
The OP and soundtrack was great. Don't really know what to think of CGI being used but it'll hopefully grow on me.

i cant say the 3d was horrible
but the frame rate killing me i was sure i had laggs in my comp or something
"that was near 20-15 fps in most of the scenes and that clearly isnt right!
that was annoying like playing action game with low fps
that just annoying... and ruin
if only the fps rate was at 24-30 fps that would be much much better and less annoying
overall the story was good but god how can you say that was good animation when it was so laggy?

i mean ok you go full cg but common at least make it 30 fps can ya?

A decent episode, though the CG is... rather static to be honest ._.
Sadly it's still rare to see traditional animation techniques being used in CG anime series and movies. OP was pretty good though.

CG was decent I guess, not horrible but it did give me kind of a creepy feeling, which seems pretty apt with an anime of this genre so I'll let it fly.
The OST sounds AWESOME but I feel like there was a lack of dialogue? Maybe it was the cg or the bad subs to blame, but I felt like there was less speaking than usual.
I have high hopes for this story though, and I can't wait to see what will happen!

I'm not a fan of the CGI in the series cause I'd prefer my characters to be more 2d and then 3d the black stuff. I'm just gonna watch it on the 2nd episode cause of the pace on the 1st ep is just too slow to my liking.

The CGI doesn't really get to me but I just wish these studios would just animate them in 60 fps instead of 40 because CGI doesn't look good when you try to pass it off as 2D animation.

I think it was not bad at all for CGI. At least it was much better than in Gakkou Gurashi, where it was difficult to take seriously.

I don't see the point of doing both a movie series and a TV series at the same time, maybe the TV series after the movie releases--it all just seems like a waste of time. But that's just my two cents.

Only a few times prior to this have I seen a show that tries so hard to be grimdark it's cringy. Second only to the laughably bad elfen lied is ajin filled with dead puppy flash backs (which elfen lied also had) a piano filled ost and supernatural powers so generic looking even owari no seraph would be scared to copy it. I'm sure edgelords all over the internet are turning on their caps lock buttons in preparation to hail this show as saving anime. Oh and the CGI was horrendous.

A great debut, this plot certainly is very good, and I also enjoyed this first episode of the adaptation, the animation was a little different than I imagined, but I soon get used and the soundtrack was very good, I have high expectations about this anime, I expect to see a great adaptation ..

I enjoyed watching the first episode but the CG was really rough. I know that anime as a whole is moving more and more towards having series done completely in CG but there's going to be some real growing pains along the way.

Agree. The emotions is missing and lost the feeling of the moment. Maybe I'm going to read the manga, because de history is very interesting.

Why is everyone always complaining about cgi in anime? It looks good. Not only does it make facial animations better, it also allows the studio to create a better looking cinematic feel to the anime. As a film maker, I take notice at how the camera work is done. They can do more of those fancy camera works with cgi compared to "drawn" art.

Anyways, great start to this anime. I'm ready for more episodes. Engaging story about what "Ajins" really are and seeing how far the friendship will go.

After watching the first episode with no background in the story, i have to say the first episode is frustrating for me. I can live with the animation, but the world going on a man hunt for a kid that doesn't die? Its not like he isn't human in every other aspect other than that loud yell. I can understand tokyo ghoul/parasyte since they eat human flesh and have special powers. I'll give the next episode a chance to redeem the show for me.
