While it's totally okay if you don't like sappy romance, I believe it's worth it to consider that it's porbably not just "girls" who can find meaning in it, and that whether it's good or not depends on how it's executed by the creator. Being with Zen seems like the 'normal' way to end this series, I don't like that route of doing things honestly. I heard there's a second season for this, so I'll see how things goes from there. I believe that the "too predictable" argument - by itself - is weak when it comes to criticizing a ship. To me, it's a lot more important that I can believe that the characters in question are genuinely attracted to each other and have a fun or interesting dynamic, than whether or not it would be "predictable" for them to hook up. While I can concede that Zen and Shirayuki's relationship is hardly the most interesting one I've seen, at this point in the series, it's the only one that makes sense to me thematically and otherwise. If later more time is spent on evolving Obi and Shirayuki's dynamic, I might change my mind. Honestly, I prefer it when a creator can make a story interesting without including twists that either make no sense or that add nothing to the story. Twists are just tools, and if the story uses them in a way that breaks its internal consistency, the story can become hard to take seriously. This is not a problem in a more comedic or intentionally bizarre story, but Akagami has given me the impression that, while it is admittedly a fairy tale romance, it aims to treat its main characters as people grounded in reality instead of plot devices. In short, twists might make a show feel faster and more eventful, but if used carelessly they may break it completely. In this case, Shirayuki falling for Obi unreasonably fast and vice versa would break the show for me. And one could argue that a love triangle would be just as cliché, if not more cliché than what we have got so far. |

| THE SHIP HAS SAILED. SHIRAYUKI X ZEN. ♥‿♥ (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ (>人<) (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) Shirayuki is so shy to face Zen at first. But after staying with Zen at the garden for a while, she finally admits that she loves Zen. He kneels in front of her and they hold each other's hand! I squeal when Zen kisses Shirayuki. Another kiss! ♥  During this scene, it looks like Zen is proposing to Shirayuki. ♥  THE KISS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I keep replaying that scene because I cannot get over it! ♥‿♥ (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ (>人<) (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)  Obi attempts to hold Shirayuki's hand. I think he has a romantic feeling for her, but he cannot show it out of respect for his master, who is Zen. When Zen suddenly calls for Shirayuki, Obi quickly raises his hands. I laugh at Obi's reaction! HAHAHA. I love this episode so much. ♥ |

| Ahh Zen apologizing to a stunned Shirayuki and promising to not surprise her next time was so cute! And her being so awkward around Zen! Kiki is perceptive as usual, and Obi teasing Shirayuki was really funny, as was the scene with the children swarming Zen and Mitsu with questions. Mitsu himself sometimes acts like more of an older brother to Zen than an attendant, and it's sweet to see. My lord, this is the best proposal scene I've ever seen ;o; |
| I have hated every Disney film I have ever seen but this truly felt like a Disney moment that makes the heart jitter and squeal a little bit, the best Disney-level writing I've ever seen animated in any medium. I loved this so much. It's cliche and predictable for the shoujo/romance genre, but the show did a lovely job in building up Shirayuki and Zen's relationship in such a loving, natural manner that when Shirayuki truly realized that she was in love with Zen, accepted his confession that sounded like a majestic proposal, have Zen brush her lip in the most gentle of manners and kiss her softly, it actually made me feel alive somewhat lol. Cliche is something that's a good tool to have if used right and executed beautifully and this franchise did that extreme justice. Felt like a fairy tale moment there, and the visuals, music and even voice acting were all perfect (credit to Saori Hayami for nailing Shirayuki's emotional side when she confesses to Zen in tears). |

| obi seems to be pretty smart too? like, a good thinker. would like to expand more on that OKAAAY MAIN POINT. HELLO? HHHHHHEELLLLO? shirayuki running, zen going after her, then just sitting down and shirayuki crying while confessing, ZEN GETTING ON HIS KNEES AND BASICALLY PROPOSING(no he didnt he literally didnt but a girl can dream) GAHHHHHH!!! ive lost it. there's so many things i love about this show, but one thing just got added. love how the couple got together without any .. random shitass cliche? no over the top love rival, no nonsensical misunderstandings, none of those stuff. just two people, in love, getting through with it and while it wasn't an easy ride, neither will the one ahead will be they pierced through in such a lovely way. (and im not saying those cliche's are bad or whatever honestly yeah most of them are but sometimes its needed, and tbh im somehow still a sucker for them despite those lol) |

| Hmm... Maybe I need to rewatch the episodes again or maybe read the manga 'cause I don't feel Shirayuki has any romantic feelings for Zen before he kissed her. This felt forced and somewhat rushed when she confessed (since this season is coming to a close); I felt she was admiring him instead. Zen, however, I do feel he truly cares and loves her-- I can definitely see it. I think Obi likes Shirayuki without knowing that he actually likes her; he's been there for her, so I wouldn't be surprised if he likes her. |
| Man it was as clear as day something happened between Zen and Shirayuki that even if Zen wouldn't have mentioned, I don't think anyone would've minded lol. We got the confession, and kisses are raining. What more we could've asked for. |
