| It's called character development through conflict and also adds realism. This way we have a deeper connection to the characters. You're 5 episodes in (they haven't developed), they're all teenagers. Did you expect it to be a typical shounen where they get nakama power and kill all the titans? Or did you expect them to complete character development at episode 5? |

| ........the fuck just happened? I can't even think of any anime where the main character actually dies so early in the series. There was Kamina from Gurren Lagann but he was a co-main character. I feel like I just lost my interest in watching the rest but I need to know what's going to happen. |

| Damn this episode was amazing! Titan just teleported and now the titans are wrecking havoc all over again. Many of Eren's friends get eaten and killed. Armin almost gets eaten, and Eren loses a leg and then saves Armin from getting eaten, but then Eren gets eaten. What the fuck? This is just stupid if the main character dies this early on, that can't be right. Hopefully the main character pulls through some kind of way or another. Onto the next episode! |

| I never would have guessed. Eren dying(?) on the fifth episode, Mikasa being the actual MC, MOE titans. This show is really living up to its hype. Why am I just watching this now? I feel so left behind. XD |

| dafuq? how can eren recover from that? and i keep getting hope from eren's words, but whenever they fight and someone dies, i lose hope again and again. this show is amazing, i can feel the desperation to live. |
