As far as an older sister like Touka goes, I can't really think of an anime where there is one quite like her (she's super hot though :P). |

majorkusanagi said: Anybody know some anime that people fights ghosts, demons and other supernatural things with use modern weaponry and tactic? Mushishi is hardly using modern weaponry but is great nonetheless, I was a little surprised you hadn't seen it on your big list haha - About a traveler who can see the supernatural aspects of life that interact with everyones everyday living and helps people with their problems. Very peaceful and laid back anime but also very enjoyable if you go in not expecting a lot of action. You could also try Devil May Cry, lots of both guns and swords and ridiculously cheesy comedy. The story follows the main character Dante as he goes about his job running a company that deals with demons and demon related problems. Soul Eater is another with some good comedy, the story follows three students training their weapons to become death scythes, which is the highest rank of a weapon and thus fit for the grim reaper. To do this they have to feed the weapon the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch. The weapons themselves also have human forms and their own personalities too, in general the show is just pretty fun. As a final one which I havn't seen, but it seems like it might fit what you're looking for, Supernatural the Animation. As I haven't seen it though your guess is as good as mine, but you might enjoy it. Sorry the ones i've found aren't exact to what you are looking for but it seems what you are looking for is pretty darn niche anyway, but you might enjoy some of these at the very least. |

Both mc are very similar , Kyon -> Oreki , Haruhi -> Chitanda It's relaxing/interesting to watch as both anime involves mystery and club activities. but I dont think there is something similar to it , If you exclude ''anime similar to Hyouka'' then Kokoro Connect fits your requirement. Club activities , some sort of mystery , bit drama and interesting to watch. never mind , you seen it already ;s |

Looking for a romance anime. It's either a: a): Good story romance b): Comedy romance c): Harem romance (this one can only be paired with a or b, and can't be alone.) A combination of all three would be good too. Thanks :D |

@Mscizor Ano Natsu de Matteru - I thought it was a good romance at least, comic in places, serious when needed, both feel good and bitter/sweet. Bakemonogatari - A bit of all three really, an ex-vampire who helps people deal with their supernatural problems to work off his debt of mortality, meeting people along the way. (If you wish to continue the series do so in the order it aired, not chronological order.) Bakuman - The story of an aspiring manga artist and his partner as they struggle to make it big in the industry and have his manga made into an anime so he can marry the girl of his dreams. Its better than it sounds. Clannad - You have already started it, it picks up more and more as you watch it, and After Story is on a whole new level in terms of story. Even if you just about scrape through the first series (though I found it great after the first couple of episodes), its worth watching just for After Story in my completely biased opinion. Kanon(2006) - Another from Kyoto Animation, similar visuals to clannad (massive eyes, no nose, its pretty legit) and is more on the supernatural side. The main character comes back to the town he used to live in to attend high school and stays with his cousin. With no memories of his past he begins to uncover it as time goes on and he enjoys his not so normal school life with the friends he makes. If you want any more feel free to PM me, i found quite a lot of romances that were good when I went through my list. @TeneRobert Though I have seen Hyouka, the detective scene isn't really something I have dipped my feet into that much, I haven't seen them but did a bit of looking around though, here's a few anime with detective type themes. (And that's actually the first time I've heard someone compare Hyouka to Haruhi, I think they are completely different shows lol.) @nikemike12 For the romance at least, you seem to be watching or have already watched most of the ones I would recommend, but I could still recommend: Kara no Kyoukai - There's two ways you can watch this show, in airing order starting at 1 and going through sequel by sequel, or you can go in chronological order which goes like this - movie # 2, 4, 3, 1, 5, 6, 7 -->. Personally I think the airing order is just fine, the show is a little hard to explain, but in short it is about a group of supernatural investigators, the main of which being Shiki, a women who possesses the ability of death perception. Spice and Wolf - More adventure than action, but still some here and there, the best thing about this show is probably the banter, or the character interactions between the two leads. The story follows a trader and his foxy companion (haha, see what I did there?) as he accompanies her north to her homeland. As for favorites or others that I think you should check out, first I would say to clean up your watching list ;D you have a lot of completed stuff that you can finish, and if you don't feel like it drop them or put them on hold for you to come back to, after that you could watch these: Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood - In a world were alchemy exists mostly in place of science, the main character lost both his brothers body and his arm and leg when crossing the taboo against human experimentation and paid the price, the story follows their travels as they look to recover what was taken from them, but are thrown into the midst of a coup d'etat. (If you like dubs, the english dub for this series is good.) Mushishi - A very relaxed series following the adventures of Ginko, a "mushi master" as he travels around helping people with their mushi related (supernaturally caused) problems. (again, if you like dubs, this show has a good english dub also.) Psycho Pass - Set in a world where a persons mental stability is measured by the government, people are branded by their "psycho-pass" levels and those with high levels are the most likely to commit crimes and levels change based on a persons mood, when stressed it can increase etc. The story follows a group of investigators as they get pulled back into an old unfinished case that was closed years before. Sword of the Stranger - Just a movie, but good nonetheless if you like your samurais/bushidos/guyswithswords. I would recommend the sub as the dub doesnt translate the chinese or subtitle them so you miss out on little bits here and there. The story follows a rounin who agrees to bodyguard a boy who is being chased by a strange chinese organisation. |

Hello , Not looking for anything specific but would love to some recs based on my 10 scored anime. http://myanimelist.net/animelist/deeviluke&show=0&order=4 if possible I would prefer to avoid , Samurai setting and over-done drama (examples are : chuunibyou , Sakurasou , Sword art online) |

@deeviluke Things you haven't seen that I hold in high regard: Cowboy Bebop, Mushishi, Spice & Wolf, Kino no Tabi, Welcome to the NHK!, So Ra No Wa To, Hyouka & Gankutsuou. Although all of those are quite slow or laid back so I dunno if you'll like them, also you've probably heard of most of those. You seem to like fast paced series so I guess I'd recommend something like: Kingdom - If you can suffer through the animation which is incredibly horrible then I'm sure you'll like it, also season 2 is properly animated and ongoing. Lupin the Third: Mine Fujiko to iu Onna - Completely stand alone from the other Lupin stuff (or atleast I think so - I haven't seen any of the old stuff) and a pretty cool series. Level E- it's comedy about an alien pulling pranks on people. Not a single storyline but rather lots of parts of storylines. Dunno if I should recommend this arbitrarily but you might like it. Oh and since you are trying to avoid samurai settings I thought I'd mention some samurai anime which is actually good so you don't just throw the whole genre out just because of bad experience (keeping an open mind can be really useful): Samurai Champloo - Hip hop culture meets samurai culture. I don't know how much you'll like this since it has a laid back feel to it but its definitely a very good anime. Ruoroni Kenshin: Tsuikoblabla - I don't remember the title you won't have a hard time finding it. It's 4 episodes (so basically movie length) and most definitely worth watching. If you don't like any of those you have a big problem on your hands. One that might be solved with this website: https://animeadvice.me/for/deeviluke If that doesn't work then I'm afraid I don't have any more ideas. Maybe you could go on mal.oko.im and check if your rating genre's you think you don't like very high and need to broaden your horizon. I would also like to request recommendations. I have plenty of stuff on my PTW but maybe to much. So while I am looking for recommendations outside of my PTW I'm also looking for compelling arguments (perhaps based on my Completed section) as to why I should cut something from there or move it up in priority. I've been choosing less good shows as of late so I'm in dire need of better info. Hope someone reads the second half of this post >.< |

ModernAlchemist said: For survival games that you don't have on your list you may want to try C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control and Deadman Wonderland. Deadman Wonderland is like Btooom! in that they're trapped and forced to fight and it's also really gory and the characters fight using special blood powers; because the anime is also "unfinished" (as in doesn't go as far as the manga does, I'd recommend reading the manga as well which is supposed to end fairly soon. C is a little unique in that they fight with their bank accounts on the line but there's a deeper meaning to it than you might expect, I actually really liked it and found it really interesting.Hey fellow anime lovers, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a "survival/survival game" anime that is not Btooom!, Sword Art Online, Another, Mirai Nikki, Fate/Zero, or Fate/Stay Night. Thanks a bunch!! (=^.^=) No vampires? That's no fun at all, I'm sure if you read some Twilight fan fiction then you will really warm up to the idea. A bit of a niche request, I can only really peel apart the different bits you have asked for as I don't know any that combie all three, from what I can gather Jigoku shoujo has a very vivid and diverse color pallet and has character design close to Kimi ni Todoke, this show lacks the wild colors and doesn't really have any tsunderes or supernatural elements to it so it might not be something you are after, but I thought I would throw it in there anyway. I could only really find a couple of other shows you might want to watch Angel Beats! - This pretty much fulfills your want for supernatural romance and a tsundere, and also has elements of action and comedy in it too. Baccano! - More of a personal recommendation based on your list, it is supernatural which you seem to like and is done in a similar way to Durarara!!, which you also seemed to like, in my opinion it is best in English dubbed (though I usually prefer subs) if available to you, and it has a bit of everything. Other people on some other forums recommend Boogiepop Phantom, Petshop of Horrors and Shigofumi, but I can't personally recommend them as I haven't seen them. SwordSkill said: Hi Again, But I'm not getting the feel of most of the anime on my list, but could anyone suggest any good Romance, Mecha animes that I haven't watched at of yet? First of all you should finished Code Geass if you get a chance, you already have it on hold and if I remember rightly the latter half of the first series is (for me) the best part of the whole series. A fun Mecha that I was a little surprised you hadn't already seen was Gurren Lagann, while I personally thought it was just average, it's one of the highest (if not the highest) rated mecha on MAL, and has one of the coolest characters to come out of anime in it. You may also choose to watch Kakumeiki Valvrave, I enjoyed it but I was more laughing at the show because of how silly it was more than anything else, but I suppose it looks nice, and it's getting a second season in October as well. On the topic of just other anime that you would like, probably just finish up your watching list, especially Hataraku Maou-sama!. Other shows that you may like that you haven't got on your list though could be any of the following: Fate/Zero - Some good action scenes and clever conversations, not just your average derps whacking each other in the face kind of battle/royale, this show also looks fantastic and has a great soundtrack. Mondaichi-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? - 3 people with super powers get summoned to a world where they use their unique powers to fight in different situations to try and rekindle the strength of a once thriving clan. Sword of the Stranger - Just a movie, but if you like classic sword fighting with no super powers or special effects this has a few in that are very good. Linkon18 said: Animes where they fight with weapons/guns (can include mecha, airsoft, paintball too) I will give you guys information about what animes i've watched if you pick them :) There is actually a show about a paintballing club that started airing this season, the show is called Stella Jogakuin Koutou-ka C%C2%B3-bu but you seem to have already picked that up. Girls und Panzer and AKB0048 also have elements of combat with guns and there is also Upotte!! but they are probably not the sort of thing you are looking for, thought I would mention them anyway. For the shounen genre I don't really recall any shows like these (which is weird?) but oh well. For mechas, again, Gurren Lagann is a good one to go for, but you may also want to try Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari or Needless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there was anyone else who didn't get their recommendation answered feel free to re-post your request. |

@Raxsel Aoi Bungaku - That's it, come to the dark side, mwuahhahahaha! No but seriously, the main reason I recommend this is for the first four episodes, the story titled No Longer Human, a dark story about a person who has feels detached from society. 5 Centimeters per Second - A romance story by Makoto Shinkai, each episode progresses the timeline going from childhood to adulthood as the two become more distanced from each other. Gankutsuou - If you have heard of the story of the Count of Monte Cristo, this show is an anime adaption of that story, it is a story about revenge and maturity in its essence (trying not to give too much away here lol). Suzuka - While Suzuka is probably the most irritating tsundere I have ever come across in anime, I still enjoyed this show a lot for some reason, it is adapted from an ecchi manga even if the anime isn't tagged as ecchi, be prepared for that. The story is about Yamato who moves back to Tokyo to attend college in the big city and follows him as he makes friends, falls in love, and finds his goal in life, along with all the drama that comes with these. |

Thanks for the anime titles: AKB0048 First Stage, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari & Girls und Panzer! Going to watch them in the near future! |

I think I've watched the ones closely relataed to Clannad and Kanon though -B Gata H kei (more comedy than Clannad and less drama) -Amagami SS (another VN anime adaptation with good romance, but Amagami SS takes every route in seperate arcs while Clannad just takes one in great detail) -Kimi Ni Todoke (A lot of drama/romance accept Todoke is from the girl's perspective and is a Shoujo) -True Tears (one of the must sees in the drama/romance department due to how popular it is. Not as long as Clannad but cuts straight to the point) -Toradora (A definite must see if you like rom/coms) |
