SynopsisSome people suddenly find religion, but for 16-year-old Kusanagi Godou, it's that REALLY old time religion that's found him! As the result of defeating the God of War in mortal combat, Godou's stuck with the unwanted position of Campione!, or God Slayer, whose duty is to fight Heretical Gods whenever they try to muscle in on the local turf. Not only is this likely to make Godou roadkill on the Highway to Heaven, it's also a job that comes with a lot of other problems. Like how to deal with the fact that his "enhanced status" is attracting a bevy of overly-worshippy female followers. After all, they're just there to aid him in his demi-godly duties, right? So why is it that their leader, the demonically manipulative sword-mistress Erica Blandelli, seems to have such a devilish interest in encouraging some VERY unorthodox activities? Get ready for immortal affairs, heavenly harems and lots of dueling deities taking pious in the face as the ultimate smash, bash and thrash of the Titans rocks both Heaven and Earth.

I thought that i was going to enjoy Campione! only because of the ecchiness and didn't expect this to have a elaborated story, but i was wrong, and not only with that but is not the typical harem, the harem was well developed and it made sense the role of the girls in the anime and they were really important, because without them the protagonist couldn't be that powerful.
Read the synopsis, and you will get the idea of what you're going to watch, the thing is that is very well developed that, is surprising and if you like mythology, name it roman, greek, persian or egypcian you will really enjoy and get educated from this anime and is original that the protagonist (Godou) uses historical or mythology information to hurt and defeat his enemies and by getting this information he has to kiss the girls that knows the information so he can use his sword and along with that use the power of words, it has little flaws but overall is very good.
Art & Sound
The art style was ok, the fight animations were good, could've been better and the sound was good in every aspect, the voice acting, the music, overall both were good.
The characters were well developed, everyone had a purpose to be there and they were interesting, tho i felt the MC (Godou) could be weak if the girls didn't help him, sometimes i thought the girls were more powerful and skillful than him, specially Erica, the enemies were really interesting and i liked the fact that it didn't took him 1min. to beat them and took him more time to make a proper fight and they always ran so i always was expecting them to appear on the next episode, the chemistry was great, overall was very good.
The romance or the kissing parts were enjoyable because you don't see kissing in harem animes, rarely this is seen because of the wuss MC on harems, here he is a little slow but at least he is not a wuss at all, the ecchiness amount was right, the fight scenes, Erica, the plot twist, the mix of everything was great, overall was a great enjoyment. read more
Campione! well that was probably the best anime i've seen with ecchi in it.
Okay guys before starting this i want to make clear that there are 2 versions of ecchi: showoff ecchi and romance ecchi. and this anime has a 90% romance ecchi and 10% showoff ecchi. (showoff echi is KissxSis style, and romance ecchi speaks for it self).
This is one of those anime's who is in commen with most harem styled anime's
Boy gets powerfull or special, Girls love it and are competing against each other.
But this is one of the few times when you watch anime's because of ecchi, you really want the action the happend like fighting. becuase it's just epic.
With this in mind i will give my honnest revieuw about this anime, and call out the good points from this anime and the bad one. enjoy.
well yeay i like it alot i must say, one of these story's involving taughts in real life like polytheism and the old greek style of believing in their gods. i like it alot that way and that it's implemented in the anime itself, that pretty unique.
also the idea of becomming a kind of Hero after killing a god is awesome, With some extra Fanservice i think they did a great job with the story.
basic art like most anime's not the best not the worst. lack in detail lack in extra face expressions. well yeay you have to get used to this in anime's which aren't in the top 100 of the anime list. still a decent job, but nothing to look out for
Sound: is like all animes just neutral, nothing special. pretty much the same story as the art, but again you have to get used to it.
Well yeay the first time accualy that the origin of the characters is inplemented in the anime: like speaking italian the first time they see the boy. and getting old habbits form back home which is nicely done. good artwork on the characters and great feeling expressions, again not to much face expressions.
Enjoyment, that's up to you, I loved it and i think this has to be the most enjoyable anime to watch for me at this moment but well yeay everybody has different interest.
I need to be honnest i think this anime would be able to get a 9, but if i look in a way of writing a revieuw, i would say 8. well yeay a great anime to have some fun. and i recomend it to you if you prefer it that way.
overall recomended to Ecchi lovers, romance lovers, action lovers and Magic usage lovers.
Not recomended to People who are to serious and can't stand anything unrealisticly in ecchi/romance wise.
Thank's for reading, Any suggestions or pointers for me? send me a message i want to inprove myself in making these reviews, My english isn't the best out there so sorry for that.
To expect an elaborate storyline, unexpected plot twists, and incredible character development from an ecchi harem show would be one of the greatest you mistakes you can ever make. I came into Campione with no expectations at all. I merely came to watch an ecchi harem and you know what I got? An awesome show that understands how to make a story despite having fan service and a harem.
Campione is a story about a guy named Godou Kusanagi who ends up killing the Persian God of Victory, Verethragna. As a result, he receives Verethragna’s power and the title of God Slayer. After that, he basically goes around killing out of control gods no one else can take care of.
The story may not be refreshing, but hey, it’s a still a story and a coherent one at that. You’re not going to gasp at anything or cry, nope, you’re just going to enjoy the action and smile at the romance.
Campione actually does have one unique aspect to it. The way he defeats the Gods is through an ability known as Warrior. In a nutshell, if he has sufficient knowledge of the enemy, their defenses begin to crumble and eventually they become mortal, thus making it easier to kill them. What makes it so interesting that he doesn’t just say he knows a lot about the God then proceed to kill him, he actually tells us what he knows. Regardless of whether or not the information about the Gods is valid, I still found it to be one of the best parts of the show. Even if the information isn't true, I felt like I learned something and it was information that actually fascinated me. There’s just something enjoyable about hearing about the origins of Gods of all cultures. I’m sure you’ll love this part of the story too.
Action speaks louder than words, so obviously the whole show isn’t just talking on and on and on about some God’s life. Godou has plenty of other abilities. He has a group of 12 incarnation abilities known as Verethragna’s authorities. To be more specific, he can summon a bull that rivals Hercules’ power or a white stallion with the power of the sun. Each one has a chant, so whenever it felt like he was about to chant, I was always excited and ready to see which animal would come out and how much damage it’d do to the opponent. However, they also have a condition. For example, the bull can only be used on people with inhuman strength and the stallion on people who have committed great sins. So there are those times, when you realize a condition is fulfilled, and you’re like, “Oh, damn, he’s going to do it!”
Now, now Godou. Don’t try to take all the spotlight. The girls need a piece of the action too and luckily, they do. They don’t just sit back and pray for Godou. Nope, they fight. All of the heroines are some of the best to ever exist in the harem genre, simply because of that. It’s always a pleasure to watch both, the male lead and the heroines, provide the action.
Now the romance part of Campione is just satisfying as hell. Funny thing is, if the girl is knowledgeable about the enemy god, she can transfer what she knows through a kiss. The Gods have a long history, so you know what that means ;) The kisses last a good 10, 20 seconds. If that doesn’t satisfy your need for romance, then I don’t know what will. All of the heroines know about some god that the others don’t, so don’t worry, they’re all part of this ever so pleasant romance.
The show is not going to look like the inside of the Sistine Chapel, but it’s definitely good. The art should not have a negative influence on how you feel about the show.
The sound isn’t exactly memorable or catchy, but it’s not that bad. Plus you can always skip it, so if you end up really not liking the opening and ending, just skip it and go on with the show. Making yourself listen to it, then calling the show mediocre because you didn’t like the opening and ending, wouldn’t be a wise nor friendly decision. Also I didn’t find any of the character’s voices to be annoying, so you shouldn’t have a problem when it comes to the sound department.
The characters aren’t ones you’re going to relate to or see as well-written, but they certainly do have good character traits that led me to love all of them. Lets start with the main protagonist, Godou Kusanagi. He is a great male lead. He says he’s a pacifist, but when it comes down to it, he’s willing to kill. That is one of the greatest qualities a protagonist can have. Kind, but not the most forgiving. Watching villains get spared is pretty annoying and it’s nice that Godou understands.
As for the female characters, they’re great. None of them are overly violent or annoying. Not to mention, they’re not princesses waiting to be saved. They’re knights who will protect the citizens of their country at all costs. God, isn’t that just splendid? To have girls who aren’t fragile and emotional train-wrecks.
I, Zeroskye, swear on the River Styx that you will love the protagonist and surely find the bestest girl out of the heroines who just all happen to be best girls.
Campione is an anime that delivers. Nice Action? Check. Awesome Protagonist? Check. Likable Heroines? Check. Romantic Progression? Check. They even decided to educate you about the entities of many different places; from Greece to Persia to Japan. Campione truly is one of the greatest ecchi harem shows to ever exist. read more
Campione, the series I kept mispronouncing as "champion", is a subpar action-based harem with a very uneven plot line and so many incorrect uses of classical mythology that it would cause a classics professor to commit suicide. If you enjoyed the likewise-confused plot line of Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, know that this is very similar except with (more traditional) stronger female leads.
So basically, a dude returns a tablet-like relic that his grandfather passed down (no explanation) to a mage/slut and, soon after being asked to keep it, decides to use it against a god and successfully becomes a god-slayer. Now with literally god-like powers, he soon attracts a harem; conveniently enough, the only way for magic to work on his surprisingly human looking non-human body is through his lips. You can probably guess the rest from there...
So there you have it. Take an ordinary person and mix with a handful of girls, a CGI ripoff of the Unlimited Blade Works reality marble, and random classical mythology jargon to get out of any sticky situations and poof you have a winner! Right? ... If you make it through episode two, consider yourself a stalwart.
Overall, CGI aside, the animation quality isn't as bad as my intro above would have you think. This is actually a fairly drawn series with some fairly decent fight sequences, literally so good that it throws gods around! Puns aside, in addition to pleasing colors and effects, you'll find a nice array of character designs- if only they used as much effort on the character development, but more on that later. Surprisingly, for a harem-based series, the first female lead transforms into an actually reasonable fighting outfit rather than your expected tiny miniskirt.
The action consists of a mix of swordplay and hurling magical energy back and forth- just like in Hagure. There is a slight sense of greater urgency here as Godou is nowhere near as confident as the lead in Hagure. As alluded to above, there is a substantial dosage of ecchi here be it girls forcing themselves on Godou (as you must not anger a godslayer- for undisclosed reasons) or the random excuses for additional French kissing (and, probably intentional, figurative sex act in ep 11- for you fanatics).
The show opens with a standard J-pop song with light hints of rock and electronica- if only the melody were a bit more defined. The ED is a much cleaner, crisp song performed by a 17-year-old. The BGM is nothing special except for the opera/orchestra-heavy reality marble moments where they really up the tension to blabber some more gibberish comparable to stating that OMG if I apply a rubber band to quantum mechanics, cause it is found wrapped around packaged sandwiches, suddenly the concepts are compatible with classical physics so Eureka! (giant sword appears out of nowhere and the entire world trembles).
As for VAs, the standout is, this is a new one, the announcer! He does a tremendous job of pumping up a character that really doesn't deserve any of it. Youko Hikasa did a great job as Erica as well, if only there was a bit more development to validate her character actions.
This story is incredible in many ways. Not only does it challenge my definition of epically bad pacing, it challenges my definition of the worst special attack to defeat your opponent. I'll give the director some "guts" points for not pulling the string on this one. The show starts as an interesting thriller, paralleling the beginning of Shana (suddenly forced into a new world and instantly protected by a tsundere-turned-girlfriend). However, it soon reverts to an arc-based harem where the abilities of Godou gives him an ultimate plot shield so strong that you really start to lose interest. With each antagonist/god, it's the same rinse and repeat formula that reminds you of Sailor Moon and Power Rangers.
The only thing to keep things interesting is the seemingly random direction that the plot meanders. Here are some examples: antagonists will suddenly change sides, random side characters will come save the day, lolis will morph into milfs, and the characters get transported to an alternate dimension. Don't expect any explanations for any of the wacky setting either. In summary, if you enjoy being thrown in random plot directions, that are all conveniently solved by the same magic formula, then by all means dig in to this series.
Unfortunately, the pain continues here as well. The series spends so much time focusing on battles and dizzyingly random plot directions that you really don't get a feel for any of the girls- is that not the point of a harem? Heck, Erica even condones Godou getting a subordinate wife. There will be a few bouts of jealousy to try to ameliorate this- nowhere near enough. Girls are continuously introduced throughout the series, all the way through to the final climax; thus expect an unnecessary number of unimportant supporting characters.
I am happy to report that not everything is under the weather for this series. In terms of male leads, Godou is a bit shy (kind of the trend in harems) but at least he's not a reserved chicken. And the interactions with the girls, in general, are fair, if only lacking in some context and (occasionally) explanation.
Please let me conclude with a parody of the show's introduction:
Campione - a Godslayer - is a supreme flop.
Since the main character can kill celestial beings, it must be worth watching, regardless of whether events make sense.
Campione - a Godslayer - is a bore.
Since the power to kill a deity is in his hands, nothing can really harm him- so what's the point?
Campione - a Godslayer - is a devil.
As the series tempts you with attractive girls, only to throw you around in a pointless roller coaster. read more
Same type of main character the type that becomes stronger by interacting with females
Both are Fantasy/Action/Romance relating to fairy tales and gods.
+ Strong Male Main Character
+ Unique Female support characters
+ Both have great action
+ Similar Atmosphere (OP Main vs. Antagonist)
+ Both main characters have set of strong abilities that surpass others.
Fantasy shows with magical battles and harem in it, similar badass cast. Also both main chars gets stronger with every girl they get.
The main character in Campione! is a lot more manlier and is overall better with his harem girls. Also, the fights are more epic because he's kicking asses of GODS.
Ecchi-supernatural-harem shows with multiple sexy female characters and a strong male lead. The male leads are not perverted but nonetheless get into arousing situation with their harem.
Both MCs become a powerful being after an event and gets involved with beautiful girls through out the series
The main characters are both beings with so much power they are practically world powers. Both have an organization that allows a girl to serve the main character. Both have magic societies that are also affiliated with the powerful beyond like the main characters.
- A normal guy becomes one of the most powerful beings on earth overnight.
- His powers are associated with 10/12 animals and creatures.
- He suddenly gets surrounded by females, who fall for him one after the other.
- He gets stronger with every new member of his harem.
- Kusanagi Godou and Akatsuki Kojou are both strong male leads with similar personalities.
- Gods from real legends VS. fictional demons & vampires.
- Gets stronger through kissing VS. sucking blood from the girls (but please note that the blood sucking is at least as ecchi as the kissing).
- In Campione! the girls are more open with their feelings (especially Erica Blandelli) than in Strike the Blood. read more
Same type of main character the type that becomes stronger by interacting with females
Both MCs depend on the women around them to get stronger. Both contain some comedy too and are really enjoyable to watch.
Male protagonist unlocks new powers after physical contact with female main characters. As battle progresses, main character's harem grows.
Both animes possess these qualities:
A Harem that develops around a resisting main character
a main character that is rather likable in a harem anime
Supernatural elements:Vampires and demons in Strike the blood and in Campione! there are magic and gods
both main characters are some of the strongest beings on the planet(the MC of Campione is literally god-like)
and an echii-ish scene begins when they want to unlock their powers(Strike the Blood: blood sucking, Campione: a rather deep kiss)
-Kiss vs Suck Blood (so hot and ecchi for both)
hence become more powerful~
-Harem Harem Harem!!!!!!!
-Bunch of super-natural
Both of the main character gains power not only by their harems but sometime by the defeats of their opponent.
Both anime will keep your blood boil hot!
The protagonists in both series control multiple avatars within them, but are still inexperienced in their use. Both heroines of these series belong to a secret magic organizations and more experienced in both the use of magic and combat than the protagonists. Both protagonists need the girls in the series to gain something in order to win the fight, in Campione! Godou has to kiss the to gain new information and in Strike the Blood Kojou needs to drink their blood to unlock a new avatar.
In both animes the male main character is strong and he becomes stroger when he meets with a girl. Also both animes have perverted situations whom the main character takes more strength
Both these series are built around a male MC with exceptional, if not godlike, fantasy powers fighting off various enemies in their respective story arcs. Furthermore, both MCs fight with the aid of a Battle Harem and both perform intimate, but not purely lewd, acts with their harem members to give themselves a tactical advantage.
One main male characters surrounded by a lot of pretty girls. The girls in both series could use magic. Both series are harem-based with a lot of fan services to keep your eyes open.
-Both based on a light novel
-Harem genre but still with a very good plot
-Strong male and female lead
-Similar art styles
-Both very good series
Both series are considered harem with the main protagonists involved with various girls after a destiny encounter.
Both series contain ecchi, fan-service, drama, comedy, romance, and magic/supernatural themes.
Both series' main female protagonist are also quite fond of the main protagonist after their initial meeting.
-Main girl is not just normal girl.
-Main guy has the special powers.
-No censorship on the chest and pants.
Ecchi Magic Harem shows that contain tonnes of comedy, sexiness, and fight scenes. Both male leads have harems in which the girls work together with the MC to defeat enemies.
Both Main Characters are innocent ppl and get sucked in to a new way of life, is what you could call it
Main Characters get new Powers and grow from the standard weak to stronger except Highschool DxD's character is more "pathetic"
Both Animes get surrounded by girls
Spoiler Alert!: Both Main Characters become HEROs (is my way of putting it)
Campione fights against gods, highschool dxd fights against vampires and such. What is there not to love about both of them? highschool has alot more lewdness but still great all around. Camptione! has a crap ton of action with alot of cool babes!
Girls, magic, and actually a nice plot to go with them.
- Similar type of heroine. Elegant one and love the protagonist (both mind and body). Grimoire Rias with red hair and from Europe, Blandelli Erica with blonde hair from Italy. not to mention the Seiyuu was the same person.
- Highschool DxD and Campione have similar plot. protagonist with power the didn't know they had, fantasy where heroine is something supernatural (Devil and Godslayer)
- Lastly, same genre of Ecchi Comedy Romance, and of course, Harem with 4 girls.
Both harem shows, which involved girls with magic powers, and which the main character has to kiss them to activate it.
Could Campione! be Sekirei's long lost twin? Both of these series show many similarities. When I was watching Campione!, Sekirei was the first thing that popped into my head. The main protagonists are very similar. They both have a younger sister that is involved in the series. They both care for the girls around them and are willing to put their lives on the line for them. Another huge similarity between Campione! and Sekirei is that the characters gain power through kissing. If you liked one of these shows you would most definitely like the other.
First off these are both amazing! They are action packed plus they have harem and romance. Sekirei has also echii for all you boob jiggling lovers out there (like my self). The characters go straight to the kissing cus fuck the wait! (Like most anime that take like almost a whole season!) the main guys are not little bitches like most guys that faint of pass out from having their periods from their nose. They grab their bitches and treat them like they should! Over all these are both anime you should watch or you can be a hoe and go to another anime.
The MC of both works are faced with several out of the ordinary challenges and different women wish to become the MC's wife/love interest. While Sekirei's MC does not hold any strong abilities like Campione's does, both shows deal with a concept of divine beings.
The main character gains a new power and needs his harem to help build his power and protect him.
Strong & charismatic protagonists who carry their harem, ecchi filled series. Watch the blu-rays if you want tits and ass.
Both have awesome fights
Both have fun girl characters that are interested in the main protagonist
The Main protagonist is a guy who is NOT a pussy
Both will keep you entertained.
Fights, tits, ass, kissing, blood and beat downs! What's not to love between the both of these shows?
the protagonist is not only fleeing of the girls
he has a moral a certain, but not stop kissing the girls also
They both have a MC that is overpowered
A lot of good fight scenes in every episode
MC is followed by a group of girls. They both have romance and ecchi.
Campione! and Hagure Yuusha no Estetica, they both have many similarities.
Like quality of both anime are same and genre of these two anime are exactly same too.
Both anime have strong main male character with many female supporter and contain a little bit of nudity.
Both protagonists are "Demon Kings", without any intention of being them from the beginning. Both have been surrounded with many girls, a harem basically. Both have fighting scenes with fan service scenes in both.
Harem style anime, Simular principe of a King. Also with super powers, And girls to protect the King. Both with a lot of ecchi. Same principe of protecting the world.
Both revolve around a demon king surrounded by girls.
Both stories go about a king trying to protect the world. They both have the fantasy and romance genre.
Campione is basically a less Graphic Fate clone.
Erica = Blonde Rin
Liliana = Saber
Could even stretch it that Yuri has some common traits of Sakura.
Godou's main power, is basically Gilgamesh mode.
That's without all the mages and gods and so on.
- Main heroine is a blonde European sword expert
- Unlimited Blade Works (or something kinda like it for Campione)
- Takes place in modern Japan
- Lots of battles
- "Nice Guy" main character who's very merciful and has powers gained from the heroine
- Villain who control the behind-the-scenes action
- Overkill attacks that couldn't kill someone
-Similiar Art Style
-A Battle Of The Fittest
-Gods, Dietys, and Servents
- Unlimited Blade Works Vs Golden Sword
When seeing this anime, most would tend to think; Is that suppose to be Gilgamesh? If one saw Fate/Stay Night before hand. Although Campione! is more of a Comedy action while Fate/Stay Night is an action thriller; both series are enjoyable.
Both female main characters are ''servants'' to main male characters.
Both female characters are blonde and fighting with a sword.
Fights in both series are awesome.
The main difference is that Campione! is little bit ecchi and it's harem.
Both series are just EPIC. (My opinion xD)
