No, I'm not kidding and yes the anime sometimes walks the tightrope between hentai and ecchi in the middle of a tornado.Animes like Amagami SS somewhat like dating sim with many arc... |

It's called Basilisk: the Kouga ninja scrolls. though it may not have a psychological edge to it, it is quite thrilling to see how everything plays out. |

Hello everyone, nice to meet you. In the last few months I've watched quite a bunch of different anime shows but now for the first time in half a year, I feel kinda lost and have no clue what to watch next. Even tough i''ve got over 100 shows on my plan to watch list, I cant find anything that really catches my attention. I've watched a few of the shows where everyone says that they're absolutely fantastic (like Angel beats or toradora). And even though I really was enjoying them, something was missing. I really miss the feeling of being drawn into a show where you always wanna watch more and can't stop until it's finished. So I thought maybe you guys could help me with my problem to find a show which won't let you go until it's finished. Pls feel free to take a look on my list and recommend me anything that comes to your mind :) I'm Sorry for this wall of text and Thanks a lot in advance. |

Hey dude, looking through your plan to watch and at some other stuff that i've enjoyed, i'll lay it out like this: Must watch: Anohana - you may also want to Ano Natsu de Matteru aswell as/instead of this, they are both similar in giving "the feels" but how the stories roll out are different, Anohana being a story unravelling drama type story whereas AnoNatsu is more set in stone and a little more predictable. Fate/Zero - Just awesome, action, comedy, chivalry, drama, the first series has a slower start, if you can bear through the first episode then you will probably watch the entire thing (its practically a history lesson on the setting before the real action starts). Essentially, its a killing game, a battle royale with a twist is what i guess you could call the fate series. Psycho-Pass - This just finished airing last season and is a real thriller, set in a plausible future where a persons chance of becoming a criminal is measured by a system that monitors humanity, crime is controlled using guns which read these ratings and determine whether that person should be knocked out, killed or left alone. (I'd watch this just for Kougami, he is a real manly man. I'd let him smash my back doors in.) Should watch: Mondaiji-tachi...fuck it i'm not spelling this, ->This one<- Some good action, the pacing was pretty fast and the story was good in my opinion. The "problem children" are people pulled from other worlds who have special powers to try and assist a clan which is being oppressed in that worlds society. Spice and Wolf - If you can bear the economics of this show, its fun to watch. It's about a travelling trader who somehow picks up a wolf deity who asks to be transported north, the story follows this journey. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - When my friend told me this was about a god type figure who forms a club with a normal human, a time traveller, an alien and an esper without realising who either of them are, i told him it sounded ridiculous. After watching it i really did enjoy this anime though, you really can't judge it before watching at least. (Just be careful, the fan-base for this anime is super scary, they do weird dances and stuff.) Might enjoy: Hyouka - Probably one of the better mystery shows out there(and in a highschool setting too? Shock and Awe!) They look at the mysteries surrounding the classics clubs and some other mysterious events are brought to their attention (mainly just because Chitanda won't leave Oreki alone). Oreimo - This is more comic than anything else, another one of those anime where if someone explained it to you, you'd give them a weird look, and then slowly back away towards the nearest exit. Until you have watched it you won't realize how good it is. A Certain Scientific Railgun - A city in which you are given a skill level based on how powerful your abilities are, the story follows Misaka, one of the few level 5's (highest level) in the city and her friends as shit hits the fan and people go power crazy and stuff. Usagi Drop - The heartwarming story of a 30 year old man who adopts his auntie...but in all seriousness this anime was pretty good. And don't worry, walls of text are good for the soul! (And helpful for us.) Hopefully you found at least one of these interesting enough to watch. |

Higurashi/Umineko , Death Note , Shinsekai Yori Enjoyable anime with random comedy - Boku wa tomodachi , Baka to test to shoukanjuu , Bakemonogatari , Seitokai Ichizon/Seitokai Yakuindomo , xxxHolic Hope you get the idea and don't reccommend Hyouka , I'll get to it eventually. myanimelist.net/animelist/moodway |

If it's known for anything then it's random but surprisingly hilarious comedic moments. Haiyore Nyaruko-san W would be an option too but given the score you gave to its predecessor I'm not too sure. |

Haiyore was fine , just the female lead annoyed me. She loved the male lead for no reason and was unreasonably persistant. Not necessary it has to be unpredictable , just interesting is the biggest point. I don't watch something that goes circles :< you know what I mean? ok , I'll give a shot to Inu x Boku , Thanks! |

May 28, 2013 6:29 AM

@TheBiggles A bit of a tricky one, the art style for Katanagatari is reasonably unique, vivid colours with edgy humor, you are probably looking at anime typical from Shaft with some of the more notable ones being Arakawa Under the Bridge, the Monogatari series (which you have already seen) and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. If you are looking for a show with similar art that also encompasses the martial arts aspects aswell then i can't really say, it seems like a difficult thing to look for, from personal experience this kind of art style is more present in comedies. Hopefully you find something that you like from these though. |

Looking for black comedies like Katte ni Kaizō, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Joshiraku, The Tatami Galaxy or Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita. I am watching Arakawa Under the Bridge, xxxHolic and FLCL too but I kinda want to drop the first one. I also finish a good one but forget its name. It's 10ep with a girl that leaves home and starts a journey with two guys (the girl can use some sort of magic). Hopefully someone knows the name of it. |

If you mean you are searching for romance anime shows that really focus on the romance aspect(I do not know what do you mean by clean), then I recommend Kotoura-san, Toradora!, Myself ; Yourself, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Nyan Koi!, Midori no Hibi, Nazo no Kanojo X, Mayo Chiki!Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate, sola, & Romeo x Juliet. If you're looking at it from the perspective of a colorful sci-fi with darker undertones and cute character design, I would suggest Gargantia, although the latter has had a slice-of-life/world building/character focus so far. Eureka Seven and Last Exile are similar in various way too. TheBiggles said: I'm looking for something with a similar art style to Katanagatari I would recommend trying other shows from SHAFT you have yet to watch.
