Preview implied we would see it this week but no, we have to wait another week

unpopular opinion but i don't really like the romance part of the story, maomao just seems so disinterested that it makes jinshi come off as pushy and creepy. hopefully the dynamic starts to change but we're already 30+ episodes in and i still get the feeling she'd rather just be left alone LOL

I don't care they have similiar age. Maomao and Jinshi look like a child and an adult man. It's disgusting. If there is a series that didn't need a romance plot is this one. Or at least make Maomao look older even if she stays short. Other techniques could be aplied on her design to convey that

You know, I'm not actively trying not to enjoy anime episodes. I'm not sitting there and analyzing every single frame with the intent of being unsatisfied and complaining. I just sit there and whatever comes up is what comes up and makes me feel what it makes me feel. It really is that simple, though I keep doubting myself on what I just said because It happens to me so often. Can't I just sit there and enjoy something?

Well, anyway. There are multiple reasons this episode left me unsatisfied. First of all, do we really need to keep exaggerating certain aspects of reality in order to make something more tense/dramatic? Getting shot at with multiple guns while being completely still? Dead. Jumping down a 150 feet cliff into shallow (or at least not deep enough) water? Gruesome death. Maybe if lucky you could survive the impact. With shattered bones, internal bleeding, concussion etc that is. These aren't even the biggest reasons why I'm unhappy but it definitely doesn't help.

My main criticism is that the progression of Maomao's and Jinshi's relatinship in this episode felt incredibly forced. It felt forced because there wasn't any buildup to this. This just comes out of nowhere. It just hits you in the face like a brick wall around the corner. It shouldn't feel forced, but it does because there was almost nothing done in regards to their relationship for this entire season or at the very least the past few episodes. It's too rushed and that makes it feel very unromantic.

@NGC7009_Saturn Facebook shoved it in my face, that something really "controversal" will happen in this episode, and some people might find it "hard to watch". I was wondering what will it be, buuuuuut the episode ended and I didn't see anything slightly controversal. 😂

@BladeX05 oh no no no, that "hard to watch" thing will be at the end of the season, if it even is in this season. In this episode we barely scratched the surface of a rather cute and kind of spicy scene, but it's not the thing they referred to (or they were just simply mistaken about the timeline). The actual "hard to watch" thing might get toned down, and as far as i know it's only in the novel, so not even in the manga yet.

@scorpioniclibra Nah. The thing you're talking about happened at the end of Volume 5. The anime is only going to finish Volume 4. The less controversial thing (honestly I find it hilarious that people get a rise out of this one) should be next week, assuming the anime doesn't change it.
