Even though Ulquiorra's arm got cut off and Ishida's didn't and the fight went by pretty fast, I really liked this episode. Can't wait for next weeks ep.

That was exactly my thought. Censoring Ishida's arm is kinda meaningless if you're still gonna show ripped off body parts. >_<

Next to the action I also really liked Inoue's facial expressions in this episode. She looked real desperate!

This episode was beyond awesome. It had me go both "WOOW" and "sob..sob"...
The effects in this episode are of high quality and they just add SO MUCH to the whole image.
When the anime started again after a long filler, I worried a bit about if they could actually capture the magic and beauty of "The lust" chapters in the manga. They proved me wrong with doing an amazing job with the animation! congrats on that one!

When that's said, I want to add that Ulquiorra really scared me in this episode.. and Ichigo managed that quite beautifully too..

Yup, Ichigo is basically a walking coffin after all. Kubo should give Orihime more development. I wonder why most of the secondary characters with a crush on the main character get ignored.

Orihime is beautifull and I think its the emotional link between her and Ich that makes him get stronger, but I do think the makers do a poor job of showing it with excessive drama. If Orihime pulled ichigo to her with the flying trio, she would have him faster, if she somehow came into Ich's world, it would been cooler, metting the hollow and begging it to save Ich, and then it comes out, orihime get unconcoused by the ordeal after and after Ich/hollowed kills Ulq he sees Ori and wakes up. I see Ich's hollow side like his subconcious taking over the more its in control the more power unleashes, he was made this way somehow.
One more thing, Ishida's arm looked more like it had been crushed to peices then riped off, thats a hell of alot worse if you think about it.

Hell, if anything, Orihime's ability makes the series worse, because it practically assures that nobody she gives a shit about will ever die, thus removing pretty much any dramatic tension in the series. Although, seeing how this is Bleach we're talking about, the odds of that happening anyway are pretty much zero. Orihime just provides the means.

Which reminds me... I don't really follow how she was able to revive Ichigo the last time, but not this time. As I recall, the conditions are pretty much the same. The only factor I can think of that's different is Ulquiorra being in the Segunda Etapa form.

Terrible episode.

1) Why are people talking about good animation? I didn't see anything praise-worthy. There were just a lot of quick, still images of Ichigo pressuring Ulquiorra, him slowly tipping his head down to blast a cero, and then then the cero explosion. Rinse. Repeat. I think people are blinded by the fact that Ichigo leveled up.
2) The level up was dumb. To be that strong is just absurd.
3) Orihime sucks.

I just don't get why people like noteDhero come to EVERY anime discussion just to point out the faults with the series.

You gave Bleach a 4, I personally would NEVER watch anything below a 5.

It's very clear that you DON'T like Bleach, save yourself the headache and rants for something else, I for example HATE one piece, that's why I never continued to read the manga or watch the anime. YOU WILL NEVER see me posting anything on the one piece forums.

WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO WATCH?!?!?

Is this some kind of masochistic fetish of yours to go through "pain" watching something you despise???

I don't think she recovered her strength at all since the last healing of Ichigo and Ken, so I think her ability was too low this time.
She does manage to care for everyone she meets, probably because she doen't have anyone left as a family, but also because most of the characters have risked their lives for her. Ulq didn't understand this which made her want to teach him, but it was obviously useless. She doesn't understand at all what hollows are.
Also I don't think Aizen brought Orhime because he belived in her power, it seems he did it to bring Ichigo there. For whatever reason, this fight, his hollow, or something.

1) This is episode discussion. I like to discuss the episode. If I like something, I say it. Just like I did one or two episodes ago when Ulquiorra released his whatever you call it. Or when the Muramasa filler started. Or during Urahara's arc. But that doesn't matter because you're just as focused on my negatives as you think I'm focused on Bleach's.
2) I just lowered the score to a 4 today. This episode was that bad.
3) I may drop the show. That's ultimately my decision, and not yours, though. You don't need to understand why I continue to watch the show. If you have a problem with the points I'm making, discuss them. Don't sidestep the issue and debate my presence as though that will get you anywhere. It won't.

Let me start by saying that I hope that I didn't offend you, weather or not your reasons are legitimate, you come across as a hater and a troll master.

However, I have had previous debates with you, and I've also read your blog, I find it very interesting and comprehensive, therefore I don't believe you are just out to troll bleach or any other series.

Let me point some items out:

when you whine about Orihime all the time, that's hating; the fact is that the majority of people hate her, but they're not going to spend their comments wasted on their disgust of her, myself included.

when you say "why are people talking about good animation" and then add your negative comments to dispute that issue, that is being condescending and in my opinion some of your comments are contradictory of your own blog:

"why don't you try to engage others in their viewpoints and start a real discussion?"

Overall, I would never tell anyone that they should like a certain series, or they should shut up, or they should see things my way. I very much agree with you in these terms.

A while back ago (I don't remember when) you told me that your favorite anime of all time was Monster (I think), up to that point I had never seen Monster, a little while after that I gave it a chance, and I absolutely loved it, from start to end it was by far one of the best anime I had ever seen. I thank you for having said that.

My point is that being positive is always better than negativity and hate, you can reach out to people and make a difference.

my blog said:
I like to talk about what's going on in a show. Sometimes I honestly might have missed things out of boredom or whatnot, or have forgotten something that has long since passed. I put my thoughts in the discussion threads to incite discussion. Do I have a slightly agressive or critical tone? Yes, but a) that's just the way I am and b) that's what gets people's attention. What I hate most is when the threads become this circle jerk of "OMG I cried so hard," "ROFL, Mariya ftw," or "Awesome episode is awesome" for 10 pages. It defeats the purpose for the thread in my mind.

I came into this thread, and I was genuinely surprised by the tone of positivity surrounding the episode (and continue to be). So I went with the negatives to get a discussion going. Had I seen more negatives, I would have brought up that I at least liked the design of Hichigo's release, but that was unnecessary.

Despite that, I don't think I come off as a hater toward Orihime, or the show in general. To me, a hater is someone who doesn't have a good reason to dislike something (ie: it's popular, so I don't like it). There are millions of reasons to loathe Orihime, and when she gets the bulk of lines during an episode, most of them "Kurosaki-kun," I can't help but point out how lame she is. Call that what you want, but I feel like I'm justified to place her as (not the first) the third reason why I hated this episode.

I don't think I was being condescending. I asked a question, stated what I saw, and expected an answer. Still do. No one has attempted to answer yet. Again, it's more my being incredulous than anything else.

How am I being contradictory? I asked a question and made my points in order to incite discussion, or at least balance the overwhelming tone of discussion. I didn't attack anyone. Furthermore, for the people who do seem to take things personally (who are also the type to look up people's profiles), I have a disclaimer citing my intentions.

I'm not here to have a back and forth with children about how Ichigo pwned Ulquiorra, or trade barbs with someone and call them a moron because they don't think the same as I do. I'm here to talk about the episodes and the show. As far as this episode is concerned, there are no real positives that can be said to steer the discussion the way I want it to go. So, instead of just saying "The animation sucks, you guys are crazy," I asked, "Why are people talking about good animation?" and gave a reason for why I think people say this was a well-animated episode. I did the best I could with a crappy episode.

But I'm glad you liked Monster.

I guess both of us see anime on complete opposites. I got heated on this issue because Bleach continues to be my all time favorite anime/manga, I sometimes just go off on other people that I believe are just here to inflict hate or are just trolling.

I'm not an idiot though, I read the manga every week and I understand that the quality of the series has been reduced so much ever since the Soul Society arc. I understand that at this point Kubo is probably more concerned on sales than he is on the actual story.

However despite all this, Bleach is still tops for me, you can call me whatever you want, but that's the way I feel about it. It was one of my first anime and I instantly liked everything about the series, from the characters, to the music, the fights, the art, the symbolisms, and of course the story.

Let me make an analogy most will understand, my favorite basketball team is the Miami Heat. Are they the best: NO, do they have the most championships: NO, however that's my favorite team.

It's very easy for your favorite of anything to be the "champion", its very easy to be a Yankees, Lakers, or Patriots fan, however it's very hard when your "favorite" is being bashed and hated on.

It's hard to be a fan when your team is losing, in fact that is the hardest time to be positive and to "think of the bright side".....

However, just like in sports, I've seen many things in anime/manga, I've seen how you can be champs one day and chumps the next, and the same works vice versa.

For now I'll continue to support Bleach (probably until the bitter end).

1. I've been wondering how Ichigo's power level was so low, when in the Muramasa arc, his hollow form and him teamed up to insanely powerful for that one attack against Zangetsu.

2. Is it sudden? Yeah, doesn't negate the fact that it looked cool. However, there seems to be much more control to this hollow than a normal hollow.

3. Ichigo died, but was resurrected in full hollow form (basically). I don't read the manga so I have no idea whats coming next, but I'd have to say that this just entitled him to become the Tragic Hero. He'll end up saving a bunch of people (the world?) but must die in the end to be released from his hollow side.

I wish the fight had been longer but it's all good. I watch a lot of anime like a far amount of you do as well (I assume), but I'm not too picky about what I watch.

This important fight is made into a good episode! I especially liked the scenery. The black sky, the moon... Yes, Ishida should have lost his arm, but hey: two people losing an arm in the same episode would be a bit corny, wouldn't it? So the bad guy does.

When you watch it without a sound it is a terrific episode. Yes, Orihime should grow some backbone but I still like her. She has a dumb, naïve, kindness. It perfectly fits Ichigo's - it's only a matter of time!

What a great episode, one of the best in a long time, and when I say long time I mean ever since episode 166 (Ok I'll consider 219 since that was the best fight in Bleach ever), so it's really a long time!

The animation and overall presentation are fantastic, the pacing could be a little better, but I can't complain after months of waiting for Bleach and after 3 poor last episodes from main Bleach, we got episodes 270/271.

It would be fantastic if bleach could keep up with half the quality/pacing of this superb episode, in my 5 top Bleach episodes ever as of now.

Let's see where they end this episode then ^^;
Oh.. Didn't go further than that : | Was hoping at least Ishida would be stabbed before ending the episode >.<

Btw, I'm getting pretty tired of Inoue's constant "Kurosaki-kun!" by now.
Though she did have surprisingly many lines that did not consist solely of "Kurosaki-kun" this episode though, I gotta admit that I'm slightly surprised.
Also, slightly off topic.. Even though Inoue's always been rather useless, she seems to have gotten a huge upgrade for her powers. As far as I can remember, in the beginning, she had to shout some random crap to use those whatever they're called thingies, didn't she? (Kind of like in Naruto, when they shout their damn jutsu's before using them)
Protip: I don't really check the forums anymore, so if you want something, take it on my profile.
