For a long time, I didn't think I had a series that would fit this mark.

However, it seems like 'Guardian of the Sacred Spirit' aka 'Seirei no Moribito' hits that mark. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through it, and I can tell that it's good, but I'm really not feeling it at all, and it's not looking like that will change.

I guess Jikogu Shoujo (Hell Girl) might count also, but my biggest flaw with this was that it dragged. Excessively. It could have been cut down to 12 episodes and still felt long.

Fate? Good? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa

Anyways nothing like that happened.

I thought I was the only one who thought Fate wasn't that good.

Fate and Madoka are the ONLY popular anime that I really don't see much quality in. I guess UBW 1 was good, but season 2?

Is it a coincidence that both involved urobuchi? Be my guest

That is an incredibly interesting opinion to have.

OT: I enjoyed Angel Beats but I didn't enjoy it as much as other people did unfortunately.

I usually don't say anything about other people's taste, but it's kinda funny how you say that Fate is bad, even tho you've only seen a single ep of UBW+Prologue. (Kaleid doesn't count here, even tho you seem to like it)

Don't feel offended or something tho, I don't disagree with your overall taste, but this one confuses me

@Batsmo are you implying I am being rude? M'kay....

Either way I don't know, tis the reason why I am watching Fate now so that I can watch the HF movies when they come out and also because everyone nags me avout watching fate/zero and apparently it is best to have more exposure to night before watching it.

Coincidence since I really enjoyed Psycho-Pass and thought it was a really good anime.

@Darek - You do come off as rude and opinions towards that claim are building by the way. I think you don't even realize it either so I don't think its something you are doing on purpose. You just have a "tone" in the way you type and attack people with no signs of it being a joke. Like, me joking about a small dick is obviously a joke. Your "tone" reflects a more hostile nature and evidence in various threads are starting to build.

You even told me you don't like confrontation so I don't think you're a mean guy. I just think you should watch how you type IF you don't want confrontation or end up seeming puzzled when people call you out. If it makes you feel better, I was like that at one point too five years ago on another site. Reading my posts back on another site, I could see the hostile nature really easily. Though, in this case I think you were more innocent than guilty.

Do you though. Just note I think this is something you can prevent.

I dunno, this is how I talk irl too, I have this sarcastic and bitchy way of talking, maybe it is that people who don't know me, don't know that I act like that towards both people I like and dislike, actually I act more often like that towards people I like than not but that's whatever. You can't really express any tone throughout the internet and we don\t have a voice chat here to hear my sarcastic tone and gay voice

Well I could try being less like me towards people who don't know that I just act like that but it is easier to say than it is to do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also holy shit you don't even know how my pedantic and too organized ass is now happy because I am not on my phone and therefore I can make one of those quote thingies that I just did so that I can separate each argument and make it easier to read.

Probably Madoka. Finished it on Sunday so it's still pretty fresh. I liked the first few episodes and while I understand the appeal for some people because it's dark, I can confidently say I hardly enjoyed it and had a hard time relating to the characters. For me the anime got progressively worse because of many factors. Characters, pacing, how dark it's supposed to be and the luck of fun.

For me it needed more lightness and fun to make up for the dark parts. If you eat chocolate without ever drinking water or eating something salty then the chocolate stops being so good as when you first took a bite. That's how I feel about Madoka. It starts with some "light-hearted" elements and gives you the feeling that something if off. After episode 3 or 4, things just go from bad to worse with no ray of light or hope and the drama is tiring. I like violence, dark themes and shock as much as the next person who wanted to watch Madoka for that but it wasn't executed that well for me. Nothing shocked me but the infamous episode 3. The rest felt pretty rushed and forced to me.

I can understand why so many people are into it though. Because it's not like many other magical girl anime and people like that or are surprised and the first few episodes are gripping. I do think it's above average just not as good as people make it out to be.

5cm/s as some others have already mentioned. Like, I get that they were trying to go for this long distance relationship moral and the visuals are stunning as expected from a Shinkai movie but as some have already said the characters felt too boring/sentimental for their own good causing the whole movie to have that sort of constant mood throughout. The characters aren't that memorable either.

I mean, that's kinda the point. I can see why you and a lot of others don't like it but that's what it was supposed to be so I wouldn't really call those flaws.

I don't really understand the question. If I don't like an anime, why would I consider it to be "good"? I can't get behind the idea of "objectively good". Literally, nothing is "objectively good" if there's one person who would disagree with you.

It means an anime with recognizable qualities that you didn't enjoy. Objective quality is a thing even in art. How well does the show establish its themes? Does it achieve what it set out to do and was it a worthwhile thing to do? Are the characters well rounded and if not would the show be better if they were? Is the acting convincing? Subjectivity plays a large part in whether someone likes a show but objective qualities aren't non-existent, otherwise we wouldn't have The Room or Mars of Destruction or Hand Shakers and so on.

Yes, I do agree that that is the point and they did it well. It's just that as the topic says I find 5cm/s "good" but I didn't enjoy it as much as I could've. I never said that these were flaws of the movie just my reactions to these elements (except well, the forgettable characters).

The first season of Fate Zero is the most boring piece of crap I've ever seen, the characters are a joke, nothing happens while it's supposed to be a survival anime...
Kiritsugu and the moral themes save the show.

While I enjoyed Mushishi, NGE, Bebop, and see why they're considered as good animes, I just didn't like them that much. I did, but not THAT much.

I personally have some shows that were good quality wise, but either they were meh, overblown garbage or not my taste in terms of stuff.

JoJo Part 4: I didn't liked the atmosphere nor the characters, people have said that it is the best part of the series, although I think it's the weakest, in terms of everything even the OPs and EDs except for OP2. The characters were bland and not likable, despite being characterized. They weren't nice in all honesty, and I dropped it right before the "best arc" started, but I couldn't stand it anymore.

Planetarian: I didn't liked it, didn't cared about it. The designs were just mediocre for my end and not only that it just pisses me off how Yumemi looked and sounded like. I get the point of her character, but she's overly annoying and it disconnected everything from the show alone. The only redeeming factor was her background that made her feel a bit humane but she was nothing more than an annoyance in my opinion. I can't even remember anything about the show just because of how slow and just flat it was. Visual Presentation was the only saving grace of it for me.

One Punch Man: The biggest insult in the comedy genre and a parody genre. They had one in joke and they beated themselves onto a dead horse and it was to the point where the show was backfiring what it was supposed to do in the first place, making itself like another stereotypical shounen. I don't see it as good, I see it as an insult to both genres and the medium with the exception of the art/animation and soundtrack, but even then the fights weren't impressive because it was shoe horning the bullshit jokes. Harem animes and Shounen while being cliche and generic af did a better job than this garbage for me. It's not even a parody at all, nor satire. It's just a straight up shooting itself in the foot every damn episode.

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: I don't hate it, but it's not my type of writing preference, and not only that I didn't cared about anything about the show, it just felt like I wanted to stay away from it, instead of making me love it. It wasn't good imo but far from bad.

Death Note: Overly Pretentious, and rather bullshit writing all over the places. The fact that it tried to be smart and making me hate Light didn't made the show any better, if anything it made things 10x worse, especially with that ending even in my opinion.

Naruto for it's filler.
One Piece for it's low quality.
There are some titles that I prefer to read the manga rather than anime.
Gintama for exception I prefer the anime rather than the manga for comedy purpose (listening the seiyuu voice acting).

Death Note. I finished the entire series but never got into it.. I wasn't a fan of the music, I didn't like the main character (Light), and the ending was pitiful in my opinion. I guess it just wasn't my type of anime.

It's actually not very good, just an elaborate chess game with the pretense of exploring morality.

Attack on Titan. I really couldn´t get into the story because of the obnoxious main character and the artstyle didn´t fit my taste. Although I think that the Studio had done a maginficent job with the fluidity of the Animation and the music was impactful the none of it couldn´t make up for the bad writing and the shallow and or annoying main characters.

Yeah Full Metal Alchemist was like that for me too.

Weird because I thought I would love it. The alchemy stuff seemed cool and the entire story itself was sort of alright. But I either didn't give a shit about or hated all the characters.
