Something like that... (NSFW)

Now I can say anime is truly saved.

I can't help but have a slight feeling that this will be censored/omitted somehow.
Sad day.

Putting it on my PTW list.

The manga was pretty decent it will be at least good if they stick to it. It's nothing extraordinary but it's a 7/10 type deal.

The same people who thought NGNL was anime of the season thought SAO was the anime of the year 2012.
You owe it to yourself to watch Ping Pong.

Watched Ping Pong and thought it was greatness.

Even still, NGNL>Ping Pong

It's alright. I was one of the many lucky people to graduate in early February. Oh boy, what a mistake that was. Abandoned a bunch of my friends for a best friend and for the sake of graduating early. It really sucked because after that all I've done is stay at home and not do anything. I blame it all on myself for not trying to do anything other than moving out of my room.

I wouldn't compare Ping Pong to any of those other run of the mill animes.

It was in a league of it's own. Not neccessarily higher or lower, but definitely a fresh breeze.

It singlehandedly proved to the world that you don't need everything that anime is commonly doing today to make a memorable show.

Obviously it's animation is bad. But the portrayal was where it shined. You rarely see anything lik what you see in Ping Pong. You didn't need to know a thing about the sport to want to actually go play it.

Ping Pong > Anime

It trancesnds the limits.

Yeah, the manga was good, but nothing special. It basically became a fighting manga at some point and after that the rest was pretty meh.

Not going to watch the anime, but I would probably recommend it.

Mushishi S2, Ping Pong and Knights of Sidonia were three really amazing shows. Hopefully summer can deliver us some amazing shows as well. All in all I think so far 2014 has been pretty decent.

I think Ping Pong gets more hype on MAL than NGNL.

Elsewhere though... Yeah that's where all of the projection towards NGNL comes from. I don't see much praise towards NGNL here either.

Ping Pong has the best story telling of any anime I've ever seen hands down. Personally I also love Maasaki Yuasa's style.

Also: NGNL, Haikyuu!, Mushishi, Daimidaler and Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara were all rad for various reasons.

Ping Pong is our lord and saviour, it has set a very high bar for AOTY.

With a strong supporting cast in the spring season, in particular Haikyuu!, Soredomo and NGNL. 2014 is off to a pretty good start. Even though Spring had a fair few terrible endings.

Funny thing is, it wasn't so much about Ping Pong as it was about coming of age.

It was about both, those ping-pong matches were the trigger of the character development.
