| To be honest this was a bit of a disappointment. Danzo's power seems pretty weak if you consider the rest of the kage's powers (and if you take into consideration Tsunade's jutsu it seems konoha is really on the weak side of things) and the whole fight seemed a little off beat. Couple that with too much flashbacks and that TERRIBLE (and lazy) red screen thing with Sasuke on the foreground and you got a not so great (still highly entertaining mind you) episode. I did like how Sasuke used more stuff than just his eyes to fight, he was starting to grow into a one string guitar... I also liked Naruto's "crash", makes everything more believable. Next episode seems to be gearing up again, which is great! Specially since after this much epicness, I am starting to grow more and more fearsome of the fiiller hellhole that must await us in the near future ¬¬ |

| I really expected to give this a 5/5, but they wasted too much time with Naruto and too much time with flashbacks. Plus Danzo's main ability seems to just be able to avoid death x number of times, seeing him die over and over again just makes him seem weak. There were alot of cool moments in the battle, shame I had to skip the entire first half to get to the action though. 3/5, My favorite Sasuke battle theme didn't even get played : ( |
| I dont think there is gonna be fillers, as the manga is so far ahead. Anyways, Sasuke's way of thinking is actually understandable after i watched this episode i kinda felt bad for Sasuke xD Itachi messed with his head alright :P I still want Itachi back tho.. |

| is it me or the show is getting worse lately, 10+ minutes of flashbacks totally ruins the pace, i think making fillers is better than forcing the episodes lenght with bunch of flashbacks, totally ruins it as ACTION anime it used to be, meh. Dropping it to 5/10 for making it progress so slow. |

| Danzo has some rather interesting techniques which all appear to be wind based meaning that Naruto can learn them as well. The fight is pretty good tho Danzo has a bit to many lives tho he could not escape the genjitsu at the end. |
| Wish there were less flashblacks and just more action. Overall it was a still a good episode and looking forward to the next one. |

| I should feel sorry for Naruto, but I don't. All he has done is sulk when he could have been doing something pro-active, he then spent time staring into the distance as if looking for a sign, all along, this is after he has made an effort to prevent anyone harming Sasuke, dispite the fact that Sasuke is causing mahem. It seems as though Naruto now (litterally) has a broken heart, which is a step in the right dircetion as it spells some change, which I'm sure is needed, therefore, Naruto's condition is infact a good thing. Even though Sakura recieved little attention, she didn't use her screen time well, as she proved annoying in that 30 second flash back; if I were the cloud nin and Sakura accused me of lying out loud, I wouldn't be happy. The fact that we know Sakura hardly knew Sasuke just makes her blind loyalty worst! Still, looking forward to seeing her face-off against Sasuke; I wonder how dramatic the animation board will make it. Anyone else find it daft that a 16 year old can go up against a determent, hard working veteran and easily hold his own? I think the same thing each time one of these children faces off against adult charcters and wins (all anime's) and we all know Sasuke won't die; considering the amount of attention he has recieved conbined with the power-up and new knowledge constantly attained, it seems as though Sasuke will be the final villian in this series, which is a watse. Sasuke's character is now ridiculous; the hawk out the backside carrying blades just made things that bit more silly. Sorry to say it, yet again, all the mains failed to impress me personally; they're at the point were they can only get better. Still, great episode, 4/5. ;) (Good to see team Guy) |

| Wow...any shred of respect I had for Naruto has completely EVAPORATED in this arc. IMO....Naruto is JUST as bad a character as Sasugay.... I mean It can't get worse than this right......OH WAIT: I'm wondering why Kishimoto has decided to destroy Naruto's character so much??? |

On topic though, I hope they play my favorite Sasuke battle theme in the second part of the battle ^^ Hi I don't watch Bleach, yet a 14 year old is just an insult.;) The problem isn't just their age in my eyes, but the fact that they remain children; in manga time, virtually no time has passed before they're experienced enough to face a knowledgeful villian. I know people find training arks boring and they are time consuming within the storyline, yet there are other things that can be done if the writer wishes to avoid them, such as; team work or background research on their opponents primary weakness, soemthing that is rare, yet more realistic. Most modern shounen's (majority avaliable) follow the same path; teenage 'chosen one', as writers know it works. It would be a shame for Naruto, a running series, to continue down a 'typical shounen' road. They don't need to age, it would just be great if their victories weren't as straight forward as winning a fight. I'm probably getting a bit old and have watched too many shounen's. Yet I'm glad I'm not the only one who has picked up on the volume of superpowered children. ;) |

| Ah that's action manga/comics for you! Gaining super-powers during adolescence is just how it works! I liked the episode but I did start to grimace at the sheer amount of flashback fannying around. Grrrr. And Naruto's panic attack made me sigh like I'd just heard a really bad joke! However, fighting was good, although, shouldn't Karin stand a little further back? Anywho, I liked the whole coming section in the manga and can't wait for it to be animated! |

| I've already said this before.... Naruto and Sasuke are the exceptions! All the other teenagers in the show are pretty weak compared to anyone else, case in point when Pain attacked the village they were pretty much powerless and even Naruto could only win because A) Tendo pain was on "cooldown" for most of the fight, B) he had all the frogs help otherwise the summons alone would probably own him and C) he had prepared two extra charges of sage mode before hand. Even then is arguable that without kyuubi taking charge of the fight on that Looney Tunes animated style episode Naruto would've lost regardless of all the other factors. Sasuke himself never EVER managed to achieve a single clear win. He either almost die and needs to be rescued/saved or need some outside intervention to even keep his life. Really, I can't see how you people draft your conclusions since the show clearly is not giving you enough information to base them on. |

How he won is irreverent, its that he got that strong so fast. Edit: You also CAN'T use Pain as an example for the other teenagers in the show, since not even any of the adults could beat him. Since this is my third post in an episode discussion thread, it will also be my last : ) |

| Pretty good episode. The flashbacks didn't annoy me (I thought by now. most people would gotten used to the flashbacks in Naruto). The animation was decent. Remember, Sasuke is strong for a teenager because he was gifted when he was young and he also gained power from Itachi. For Danzo's case, he's old and he relied too much on his Sharingan arm which make him look weak and ignorant. Naruto is still going strong for a long time shonen. I know One Piece is better but you gotta give some props to Naruto. P.S. Madara is just sitting there watching. He needs some popcorn XD |
| @ 711 Hi, I don't know who you're refering to when stating 'you people' and 400+ episodes of the Naruto series is more then enough to gain an opinion on what has occured previously and what's going on now. Agreed that Sasuke has never won a clear fight, yet my point is (if you're refering to me?) he is able to go up against veterans/other skilled fighters, he is able to put up a fight and come to think of it, he has come out the other end; fair win or not, he's still living, also, agreed that eveyone waited on Naruto too, this was never disputed, both seem the 'chosen ones' of this series? It seems clear that the story will end with these two being the' strongest of all time', equals facing off against the other. Anyone remotely decent will fall under plot-no-jutsu, whilst all others remain at their plato. No one is dissagreeing with you (from what I have read?), though I will dissagree with the others being weak in comparrassion, as minors are simply background art now and their great performance takes attention off Naruto and Sasuke. :( |

| @ Queen_Stars Protagonists are always the main focus of a show and inherit all the merits attached to their position. Shounens always overpower people in some way or another and this is probably the main attraction the "intended audience" sees in these works. Now, with those two statements out of the way, what you are saying (from my understanding thus far) is that Naruto's "power scales" (lets call it that way... some people would like to call it sayajin levels or bankai but w/e) are unreasonable because they are too young/inexperienced. What I am trying to convey is simply that Naruto is not a good example for this behavior. Naruto and Sasuke are special. They always tried/trained MUCH harder than anyone else. They always had much stronger motivation than anyone else. They always had special abilities that inherently put them above anyone else. So, when they get to face off stronger/older opponents they can keep up (as in not flat out demolishing people) because they have reasons to do so, opposed to simply being all mighty (as in Bleach for instance... I can't think of a better counter example actually). In a nut shell, It's not because they are the protagonists that they manage to fight at the level they are fighting, and with 400+ episodes I think we have enough material to come to this conclusion rationally, as opposed to simply branding Naurto as shounen and accepting that they will always win no matter what (I mean, this will happen most likely but at least here there is an effort from Kishimoto to make it coherent). |

| Nice episode 5/5 Danzos techniques are interesting... Correct me if i'm wrong, each eye in his right are has a "life", every time that he dies he appears elsewhere with one of the eyes closing. |

I dont read the manga so I'm not exactly sure, but from this episode it seems like it. I hated the flashbacks, and the first 44 seconds was useless. Otherwise the 10 min so fight was intense and to see Sasuke have a new summon animal was unexpected. It also makes sense wth their group name TAKA or whatever. ( but its rip now, lol ) Madara was right, Sasuke was using all of his trump ninjitsu techniques and usually ninja's dont fall for the same trick twice. He's gonna run out of chakura... maybe. Danzo hasnt realy used any OMFG techniques, only that real sick as hand. BUTBUTBUT. I am also VERY INTERESTED in what danzo has under his eye bandage. ... no wait. i think the anime showed us before. ARGH cant remember. Anyways, the black crows came out of his body, maybe thats what Naruto has??! Remember how Itachi talked to him before he died and made him eat a crow? Yea.. Looking forward to the next epoisode. |
| I know some people keep saying that Naruto should just go head and get over it and do something more productive, but I can kind of understand how he's feeling. If I try to see myself in his situation or try to think of a bad situation that I have been through, its not that easy to get over it. Especially when in his case, their telling him that he has to kill his best friend. Naruto was close to Sasuke more than anyone else, so of course its hard for him. Not only that, but he's been through a lot. I don't know about anyone here, but I'd have a hard time killing my best friend even if I had too, simply b/c she's like a sister to me. As for the fight it was pretty awesome in my opinion. The flashbacks I'm used too, so it didn't bother me that much. I really though Danzo died there for a second, but I was surprised. And I was so freaking excited at seeing Itachi, b/c I really wish he was back!!!!! I really do miss him and that is one thing that I'll hate Sasuke for, regardless of the circumstances behind it. Although it Sasuke redeems himself someday, then I'll probably change my mind. |
