After the end of the world in 2035, two girls continue their journey through life on a motorcycle, although they are also interested in knowing the whereabouts of their older sister.

The story resembles Girls Last Tour, two girls traveling in a post-apocalyptic world, but at the same time there are also many differences between the two, the animation is moderately good, I've already read the manga and I guarantee you'll never get bored watching this Anime.

^ (You opened this thread too early btw)

Interesting start. This is like a little bit more positive and wholesome version of Girls Last Tour. I like the vibes.

Airi and Yoko are a cute duo. :3

^^ The OP opened the thread TOO EARLY.

A girls last tour-ish adventure, an apocalypse for one, and it's quite the "adventure" alright.

Quite interested to see where would the girls go.

@KANLen09 but I posted it as soon as I watched the episode, one minute and a few seconds difference doesn't matter

Another cool CGDCT shows!

I'm a big fan of these kinda shows!

Saying that, Yoko and Airi are an interesting duo. In this apocalyptic world!

I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

Very promising first episode, as if I have watched a cozy Girls Last Tour set in an enviironment very similar to that of Yokohama Shopping Log. Cute girls doing cute things in a decaying setting that looks more beautiful than threatening.

@Ishitateso I like any anime that makes references to Yokohama because it is the city I currently live in.

@ReMightyRon Than you should read the manga which title I have mentioned (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou). I don't remember how much it had to do with the town Yokohama (I read it a decade ago), but there should be a reason why the title refers to it. Whomever wrote this anime we have just watched clearly draw inspiration from its setting. Even a similarly damaged Fuji was in it.

@the_joe I think Airi is the only android/cyborg, the other one seemed fully human. But I could be wrong. Is it wrong of me to get mono vibes from a post apocalypse Anime'? LOL

Maybe the premise is the same as the post-apocalyptic thing like the others, but this is a touring after that. I'm more interested in what disaster happened and how it led to the apocalypse, hopefully in the future it will be told slowly but for now it's quite interesting to watch

It was quite cute and fun, I suspect it might end up as the best sol of the season, we'll see.
I really liked it so far in any case, it was relaxing (except for that action scene with the tank-like vehicle of course).
Interesting, Airi seems to be an AI/Robot of some sort, while Yoko might be looking for her sister maybe I guess?

Very good start!

really enjoyed it! Personally, I found it to be a charming take on a post-apocalyptic world. Interestingly, this is our second apocalypse-themed anime this fall season, alongside Dusk: Beyond the End of the World it seems. The first episode was great, it leaves you with questions and a pleasant sense of amusement from the art work of the post world scenery. ^_^

@LilyBlueCat Seems like the only ones who really bought it were the humans ( shades of Apocalypse Hotel! LOL) which doesn't make me that unhappy, not totally depressing like the World of Wolf's Rain.

So, the opening of the show seems to be taking place in a post-fossil-fuel, mostly electric world already, and we see the big sister and her friend on biofuel bikes, with a carburetor, no less.
Then, one nuclear war later, the little sister and her cyborg friend revisit big sis' travel locations, on her bike, now converted to solar electric.
Like the vibes so far, definitely similar to Girl's Last Tour, but less somber. Looking forward to what's to come.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who wants to compare this series to Girls Last Tour (Especially since that show aired exactly 8 years ago now). For one thing, it does look more upbeat and colourful with plenty of greenery taking over the landscape. Another thing to take note is the fact that Yoko and Airi's mode of transport is an EV-converted bike, whereas Girls Last Tour stuck with internal combustion.

Speaking of, both girls have a fun dynamic together, whether it was hunting for food or searching for spots to take pictures of the scenery together. One thing I didn't expect to see was Airi shooting down the tank with her right arm as a laser beam. If she's some form of AI or android, then it makes me compare this show to the other post-apocalyptic series of this season, Dusk: Before the End of the World.

Like with that show, I do hope we get to know more of the world itself and what happen to it leading up to the condition it's in right now. If it can get a strong balance of delving more into the state of the its setting while maintaining the girl's fun adventures together, then I think this series will be a bit of a sleeper hit of the season. =)

Looks like it is another comfy touring anime. Don't expect much from them, but they are enjoyable for what they are. The twist is that it is after the apocalypse, though there is little information about what occurred though. Also, one of the girls is a combat android.
Animation and visuals look pretty good too. I think I'll add this to the watchlist because I've enjoyed previous CGDCT touring anime in the past, even though that makes Sunday pretty stacked.

Just noticed the huge energy beam taking out a town in the ED - together with all of the satellites in the sky that they see at night, it kinda hints at what might have happened. Not sure why there was a Nessie in one of the lakes, though XD

Strong first episode, I like the fairly chill vibes of the story so far with that glimmer of something sinister in the background. I also like that the APC's rogue AI was a reference to HAL 9000. Not sure what caused the apocalypse yet, there were a lot of military vehicles seen this episode so perhaps a war, Mount Fuji also seemed to be smouldering away so perhaps some kind of massive volcanic event? Also all those satellites in the sky? Too soon to tell.

Also I'm pretty sure I saw the Loch Ness Monster at one point.

You know how bad the real world is when pre apocalypse world look worse than the post apocalypse world.. Just wild.
Before the fall the world here was Overcrowded, overstimulated, emotionally drained and financially bankrupt.
After the fall it Sparsely populated, serene greenery, strangely outworldly.

It’s like the world had to collapse for people to finally breathe. You see it here in the anime, the empty roads, the quiet landscapes of hakone the way every stop feels like a peaceful shrine visit.

I wonder what happened to cause the apocalypse and if it has something to do with Fuji eruption. This seems like an interesting concept in itself, but I'm not sure about the presence of adroids. I would rather this was about normal girls instead. But the art is very beatiful, so I'll see how it goes.

Two young girls, Chito and Yuri, travel through an empty post-apocalyptic world.
The two of them ride and travel on a Kettenkrad together, experiencing a never-before-felt freedom in travel with no traffic and no traffic lights.
With the Kettenkrad, they embark on a journey around a now-destroyed Japan; a unique story about touring as an anime series!
The world's over now, so let’s hop on a Kettenkrad and go on a journey!

Oops wrong synopsis lol.

We got 2 baddies with a ray gun in their hand this season, noice.
Take that all the philosophy exploration and the atmospheric tone away, what are you?
Probably just plain cute girl doing cute shit with a little girls und panzer thrown in there.
How convenient of them having the hot spring still usable for bathing when it's left behind without any maintenance or care after the apocalypse?
They better not making all the city covered in moss and called it "apocalypse".
I'll give 2 more eps before deciding to dropped the show because this doesn't looks all that good tbh.

So far it's a weaker and more lighthearted Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou.

But that said, even a weaker Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou can end up being better than most other new offerings.

Being able to tour the country on a bike must be quite the exp. And japan as pretty as she is proves to be the perfect setting. Loved the contrast between the before apoc scenes and the after ones. If anything the need to recharge the bike gives them the perfect opportunity to explore whichever area they're in. Being pursued by a remore controlled av though must had been scary. The song they sung on the way back sure was catchy. Overall a pretty fun opening ep.

I've seen it in various different series. It can always just be explained away as they eat for the same reason that humans and all other living organisms eat - to convert what's in the food into a form of fuel and energy to power their functions. Just regular electricity and more artificial compared to bioelectricity and cellular energy.

Also, in some series, even if they don't "need" to eat, or at least don't need to as much as humans and other animals, they still "like" to because they can perceive taste.

Something's not right lol

Did anyone get School-Live vibes from this episode?

How is it that Yoko knows that lady from the start? She call her big-sis, but are they actually related? Things look very overgrown compared to how things looked at the start. Also what was that about Yoko escaping a shelter? That vehicle that attacked them said that the outside had dangerous levels of radiation, so maybe there's a reason no one is allowed outside of shelters yet...

Overall this was an okay episode imo. I wasn't that into and tbh Yoko kind of annoyed me.
