Felt like a rushed ending but a solid show overall imo, almost as good as the first season's.

I love how Marin was able to gather her feelings even though it's been eating her inside this whole time. Gojo's character progression this season has also been a real insight to watch throughout this season. He made mistakes in the past but found ways to deal with them. It's been a blast. More memories were also made in the season finale including a selfie. No new season or movie announced yet.

Improvement in every way over season 1 to me. Much better story arcs and toning down the fanservice helped me enjoy the message this series is trying to get across more. Still not a massive fan, but this was really cute. I’m retiring from being a kisekoi hater, for now 🤣. Great job to Cloverworks for an amazing season.

Very nice finale that I think summed up everything this season was about. Ending on a group cosplay shoot after we’ve seen Gojo and Marin bring together this amazing set of people who all share the same interests and don’t judge one another is so sweet. The coolest part is, it’s not something they set out to do, they didn’t particularly recruit people, but when you have so much passion and love for your hobbies it’s just infectious and attracts people. I find that to be the case on a daily basis irl where I’m wearing an anime shirt, have an anime bag, or have some gundam crocs on and people will come up to me, talk, sub to my channel etc. It’s so cool being around people that are passionate.

Juju secretly hating scary/horror stuff is so relatable lol. The way she felt she HAD to go thru with it because of her little sister looking up to her is so freaking cute though. Imagine having a sister that good.

Akira and Marin FINALLY having a proper conversation and Akira admitting she’s just a massive Marin stan is one of the best moments in the whole series imo. Such a cute moment and it felt like Akira was letting not just that out, but also the trauma of having to suppress her interests from her parents. Seeing Marin accept her passion and reciprocate it meant so much to her. “No one’s ever called me their oshi before” oh Marin if only you could see your real world fandom lol

NOO NOT MARIN DROPPING THE PHONE AFTER FINALLY GETTING A SELFIE WITH GOJO 😭 we didn’t get our confession, but Marin and Gojo took steps forward together and individually this season and that’s all you can ask for. They’ll get there eventually. Such a cute season, I enjoyed it a lot!

Oh look, someone needs a cosplay stitched, and guess who came back from the dead to do it... our good old simpleton drone, Gojou. And ofc the crossdressing weirdo is back too... like anyone actually cares. At this point, I feel like we’ve been doing nothing but a photoshoot for the last 3–4 episodes, or maybe my memory’s broken, because I can’t recall anything else. One thing I do remember: we were supposed to have a confession... wait, where is it? Oh right, this show doesn’t actually do romance. Almost as forgettable as the whole season, but hey, we move on.

Speaking of forgettable, who even are half these characters? Even outside of cosplay, the group dynamics are weak, not helped by the mediocre, boring supporting cast. It’s honestly baffling how, after all this, I still can’t tell who’s who... oh wait, that’s not my fault. And did I mention again that literally nothing happened? Oh, and miss crossdressing lady or whatever her name is, look at her, a hardcore, like really hardcore simp. So that makes her soooo cute, right? RIGHT???? Makes me wonder what was even the point of this character besides just adding another face to Marin’s endless queue of fangirls?

This season is actually horrendous and a baffling attempt at turning into a SOL. Newsflash show: to make a good SOL, you need good characters. I can’t even name one here, but hey, keep trying, because it’s clear you’re not putting any effort into the romance side. This and Takopii have really shown me how much people can be blinded by sakuga and flashy direction into thinking nothing-burger shows like these are good. Literally the definition of “carried by animation,” and I hate to even use that term.

This whole scene was absolutely pathetic lol. What a terrible way to end a season. They didn’t even tease a certain character at the end, so fingers crossed that means season three isn’t happening.

Let's start with the bad news, this was the last episode.
Akira created a big misunderstanding just because she is shy and Marin going overboard again with her reaction.
It's nice to see that things worked out tho.
Inui not dealing with the gory aspect of the shoot was funny to watch but a bit sad for her.
Let's hope Marin and Gojou will get together eventually.

Guess I was wrong, anime-original ending and no sign of final cosplay tease , very disappointed , they cutted the final cosplay reveal from chap86 with the anime original train scene between Marin and Gojo and everything after.

That probably just mean Aniplex didn't greenlight a sequel like they always do for anything that isn't Demon slayer lol , was still a cool ride but the Manga is far superior since it has the best arc (Haniel).

Akira-san’s misunderstanding scene and revelation was right on the point, lmao. Of course it wasn’t going to be her hating Princess, am I right? Her “huh?” being the loudest of the lot was hilarious and Marin-chan finding out about it was fantastic!

Very solid season, overall. For the proposal being reduced to a selfie shot is hilarious but pretty much sums up the romantic progression this season, lol. I like seeing this vulnerable and doubtful side of Marin-chan but there’s got to be a limit (well a little).

Respect to Inui-san for not ruining the moment for her younger sister. I hate horror stuff too and the fact that she was learning about the final bits of the plot in person was funny from third person view but I would’ve crumbled for sure if I were in her shoes.

Genki Op that really got me into the tone of the show, going to miss this for sure and I’ve found a new artist to look forward to as well!

Poor Juju, experiencing much of the horror game live rather than on the concole for her first time.

Shinju enthusiasm for the game scares Wakana a bit.

I knew that Akira was fangirling over Marin.

Poor Akira, overwhelmed by Marin's effusiveness.

Synchronized ought to be lovers:
"And now it's suddenly just to two off us."
"And now it's suddenly just to two off us."
*Marin shock*
But darling Marin could get it over the goal post at the end, and Wakana still imagines that he is unworthy.

And so we end with the Coffin group cosplay, the big "fangirl" reveal and a rather dramatic selfie.

Similar to Sakamoto Days I actually bought and read a large portion of the manga between seasons 1 and 2 of this. And as it happens where I stopped reading was by pure coincidence more or less where this season ended. I've read through Volume 11 which covered the Coffin stuff but also did begin focusing on the next cosplay, which was really only hinted at during the opening theme of this season. So now I'm wondering if there'll be enough content for one final season or if a movie is gonna be done or something. I know the manga ended just this year at what? 15 volumes was it? And they're basically done with 10 and a half or so. Well, I hope it does well enough and there's enough material left for one more season, but I guess I'll find out when I finish collecting the manga.

And on the whole I enjoyed this season enough for another solid 8/10. While I think the cosplay material in season one was stronger, I did enjoy Gojo's interactions with his fellow classmates during the cultural festival. And his growth in confidence. Plus there were some nice romantic hijinks as well. And well, I guess that's it for now.

S2 is bland, no character development (i mean characters, no some nonames added to drag more panels to the manga), few scenes that involves only kitagawa and gojo.

And speaking about characters - flashbacks of nonames and resolving their "problems" is common problem of many recent shows.

I hope S3 will be better.

Coffin cosplay looked lit. The manga panels were lit af, loved em and it looked great in the anime as well. Juju sama did great, sasuga. Akira's just a big Marin fangirl lol. She tried so hard to keep her composure before. Ending scene was sweet.

Loved this, had some fun moments, some sweet and some hilarious moments. Cloverworks and Hina Suguta delivered again. Till next season.

@Dark_Saibot Which is why it will probably be a movie for Haniel, the aftermath and the prologue as they can fit everything into a 1hr40-2hr time frame.

They could probably cut the entirety of this season out of the story and skip from the end of s1 to whatever chapter this ends on and nothing would change. Its okay for what it is but was still kinda boring in my opinion. Also Gojo is might as well be blind.

Aparently ppl didn't like this season so much. i absolutely ate it up, there was no downgrade to the quality of animation whatsoever and it was rly fun seeing both work school and hobby environments and ppl.
If mari had actually said it i think it would be a better ending but this isnt the first time such a buildup exists just for a minor step.

still i cant lie and say i disliked it, cya in s3 guys 👋😅

Poor Juju, she got it rough this episode.
So, turns out Akira does not hate Marin but is actually her biggest fangirl, we got some amusing moments out of it.
Also, glad that the season is ending with a big group cosplay involving pretty much all of the secondary and main characters related to cosplay that we met so far: the Inui sisters, the ones we met this season, and of course Gojo and Marin.
Oh boy, Marin is really head over heels over Gojo, but unfortunately her 'declaration of love' transform in asking for a selfie at the last moment: cute selfie by the way, but seems like we say goodbye to the phone? haha.

Overall, it was an amazing season, I liked it even more than the first one: we had a lot of amusing moments, great and interesting cosplays, amazing secondary characters, Gojo/Marin definitely feel closer than in the first season, great animation (better than the first one imo), inventive direction, we got a lot of character growth for both Gojo and Marin, and their VAs are doing a fantastic job as always.
Romance-wise, the first season is mostly a 'will they, won't they' sort of thing but one that seems pretty far in the future and hypothetical, to the point I'm not sure I would consider the first season a romance. On the other hand, I really appreciated that this season spent so much time focusing on Marin inner monologues, it allowed us to see how much her romantic feelings for Gojo have grown, to understand her better, and largely contributed to make the main characters seem more fleshed out and this season to feel like an actual romance.
One of my favorite shows this season, I gave it a 8 :)

The montage of Marin reminiscing about her time with Gojo was so sweet 🥹lol.

Oh man, this was another great season

8,5/10

But anime orginal ending? I guess it makes sense to end the season like this instead of teasing the comic market and the Mandate of Heaven Arc. Just hope it's for that season. Yet for now it looks like they have no intention to adapt that plotline. Didn't like the last bit of the manga that much, would still be a bummer to have no S3.

The strength Shinju and Akira had for holding in their respective feelings is commendable even if said feelings were exact polar opposites. Seriously, Shinju's a warrior for getting through the dinner table shoot for someone squeamish to spooky stuff lmao.

Another super fun season, and I'm just gonna take the non-confession as a soft confirmation for another one.

There are 2 aspects from this episode that I find quite funny. Firstly is Akira's misunderstood love for Marin. I certainly was not expecting that at all so the whole interaction felt out of character but in a good way since it was better than the resolution I was expecting. And how Marin was able to handle it was superb, better Juju putting up with horror for her sister.

The second aspect was how some people were speculating with Marin confessing to Gojo like this. I still feel like we're too early for that to happen though some steps have been traced with how he was more of a focus in this season. We got to see his classmates praising and talking to him normally, different cases where his childhood trauma came into play and he was able to get through it, and overall being a cool guy. No wonder Marin has fallen for him.

I'd like another season of this although with the lack of a proper announcement in the credits maybe we won't get one just yet. At the very least I was a fan of the ending sequence.

The group cosplay was great. Sajuna hates horror and didn't even finish the game, apparently. I thought her fear of horror was going to be a bigger deal but then Akira happened. The reason Akira acted the way she did towards Marin was because she's Marine's superfan. That's... what? Okay. Didn't see that coming. I thought she was jealous of her or something. The way she reacted to her totally looked like she'd kill Marin if she got the chance but ok. That was a great diversion Ig. Marin being happy about being someone's oshi was kinda wholesome tho. And I'm glad Akira was able to find happiness eventually instead of dwelling on her terrible past.

So in the end, Marin couldn't confess to Gojo. Kinda expected. It's not an easy thing to do. Marin is a more awkward girl than she looks.

This season was great. I didn't like it as much as Season 1 but it was still pretty good. There were some new methods of cosplaying shown and Gojo was able grow more. But it felt like Marin was more or less the same as she was near the end of Season 1 so that was kinda disappointing.

What wasn't disappointing was the animation. I thought Kaoru Hana or some other new series would cannibalize CW's budget for KiseKoi but it feels like the opposite happened. The animation of this season looks unreal. I didn't think it was possible to surpass Season 1 but they somehow did it. It feels illegal for a romcom to have such high production value. Wonder who got tricked into funding this thinking it was a battle shonen.

I really hope a 3rd season or whatever is made. It'd make no sense to end it right here. If trash like Rent a Girlfriend can get 5 seasons there's no excuse for a series like this to get some form of a sequel eventually. I don't care if it's good or bad I just want to see it get a proper ending.

So turns out Akira really was just a super fan, not that surprising. It felt like she was just someone who had a deep hate for Marin before this episode because of how she was portrayed but because we were so close to the end of the season I kinda knew that wouldn't be the case.

The cosplay group session was really cool, they done an amazing job at bringing the stuff over from the game to irl, real passion for all of them involved. The ending between Marin and Gojo was cute. RIP her phone though.

So overall I think this was a massive stepup from Season 1 generally, my only real dislike is because of so many other factors it felt like we got hardly any 1 on 1 time between Marin and Gojo because of the vast amount of characters this season. Its not a bad thing but I would have liked more. Other than that this was a really good season. The animation felt different from season 1, not in a bad way just it was really unique in how the drew some stuff and really pretty.

Great season generally looking forward to season 3

When the whole episode is about the girl hyping up "I'm going to confess today I'm going to confess today I'm going to confess today" then you just know there's a 0% chance anything was ever going to happen and voila. Anticlimactic but expected.

But still a good show overall nevertheless.

LOL Who would've thought the reason Akira has been avoiding Marin as because of something so wholesome? The way she totally fangirled over Marin was too cute and funny.

Amane is so used to changing into his crossdressing cosplays in front of his mom and sister that he just changed without thinking, much to Suzuka's delight.

Juju is such a great older sister, she withheld her discomfort at all the gory horror props just so Shinju could have a happy time with the photo shoot.

And finally, Marin chickened out when it came time to confess her feelings to Gojo. Looks like we'll have to wait for the next season or movie for the remaining manga chapters.

PS F*ck you N*tflix! for releasing the episode but without any English subs when previously you've managed to release the episode on time this season. Even now at time of writing this the subs are still not out. Your loss as I decided to just watch the subs from somewhere else (YAAARGH).

Yeah definitely was inferior to S1. Like many said, the whole cosplay thing was used to enhance the two main character relationships, but now it's mainly used to be a "educational" type of show and some kind of weird self glorification for weebs. It did start well, but later episodes definitely felt pretty boring.

What doesn't help is I know one of the main criticism of the series is the author chose to barely show them as a couple, so we're literally seeing him wasting time here and ignoring the core of the story.

Anyway, 6/10

yeah, no. this ending sucked. even removing the context of being the last ep of the season, this was nothing special and kinda rushed feeling.

this season is a mixed bag for me. we got some progress on the romance but also like way too much of "just cosplay". this is season 2, shouldnt the romance be picking up?
also why did they hold akira's reason for avoiding marine from us like half the season only for it to be that?
is this skipable on a rewatch? no. was it worth watching as it aired and waiting a week for each episode? no.

im not sure what to rate this as. it wasnt bad per se, but im not happy with how little the romance progressed. we got gojou noticing some potential feelings sure, but thats basically all. marin was often thinking that gojou was cute, but she did that in s1 too. and please with that "confession".

best thing about the season was the ed song.
