| “We will find happiness as long as we’re by each other’s sides” Ahhhhh I’m sorry I’m crying. Not even recency bias, but this was genuinely one of the best romance seasonals in the last few years. The way Marie and Kyros’ relationship developed was perfect, the way the author handled abuse and Marie developing confidence in herself culminating in that final showdown with her parents today.. it’s perfect. I genuinely couldn’t ask for a better ending to this story, I’m not sure if this adapted all the books, but I’m pre ordering volume 1 which drops in January now!! Alright so as y’all know I’ve been advocating for the Shaderan’s to suffer the most painful fate imaginable and die brutally, but the way they handled it here in the finale was honestly way better. Having Marie show up with all the friends she’s made since being kicked out, looking like the definition of beauty and elegance while the shaderan estate continues to deteriorate because of the horrible management was perfect. The look on both her parents’ faces when they saw what she had become made me smile sm. Yes, the girl you threw away became a proper noblewoman. Bringing the prince to back them up and strip Baron Shaderan of all his land is great, but the two big things there are 1: they gave him the opportunity to apologize Marie and make this situation go away, even with his wealth and titles on the line, he refused to admit any wrongdoing or repent, truly showing he was beyond redemption. 2: Surprise surprise, undiagnosed mommy issues caused all of this. Men will abuse their own kids before going to therapy. It’s actually even more fucked up when you realize he probably had the wife wear a blonde wig and dress/act like his mom because he was desperate for her approval. Speaking of the mom, Anastasia revealing herself and knocking off her mom’s wig was such a great moment. They didn’t even care for Anastasia really, it was just her appearance. What a sick family. I’m ngl I do feel a little bad for the mom because I think she went thru a ton of abuse as a child and was genuinely beat into believing she was a horrible person for having red hair. Her survival tactic was to take on another appearance and she truly came to believe she was above Marie because of that. Sad situation and seeing her living alone in the estate does hurt a bit. On the flip side, my girls got their happy endings. Anastasia being accepted by old man Norman, Cedric and Luiphon’s little sister potentially linking up, Luiphon and Anastasia and of Kyros and Marie finally getting their dance routine down and making their engagement public! Whole family about to marry into the royal family at this point lol we love to see it. “Marie for being born, for being at my side, thank you.” Yea that’s where the dam broke for me, that kiss was everything, this couple was everything. One of the best depictions of recovering from abuse. I will support whatever this author puts out for eternity thank you so much. |

| Marie, now the confident and proud daughter of the failed Shaderan family, is a totally different being, bringing her attendants and the rest of the cast to face her family head on, finally giving them their due justice to impeach her parents. All of Marie's sufferings in exchange of an apology, her parents are too far gone to even treat anyone with respect, even with the reveal of their mother Elvira having the same "unfortunate" red hair as she does, always being rejected by their loving grandmother. Even Anastasia has enough of her mother's antics, and that says final for the arrangement where the Granado family taking over her family residence, plus Smith Norman having to adjust her tools to keep her around as well. The one good thing to come out of all of this, is Marie's newfound confidence being officially wed to Kyros, Luiphon settling for Anastasia in the best and worst of ways, Cedric and Cillle just dancing like children, as well as both Liu Liu and Mio seeing a bright future for the married couple, who came together out of circumstances that really nurtured them altogether. A good ending this is one, and a redemption story for Marie, contributing to a decent to good show, all things considered. |

| The fact that Marie's mom was wearing a blonde wig the whole time, the self-hatred lmao. She looked absolutely crazy. Don't even wish anything bad for people like that, you can only feel pity. 12 episodes later Marie is a totally different person. She overcame many obstacles in order to grow as a person. Of course everything was simplified to fit into a single cour. Perfectly satisfying ending and very nice series overall. Sappy sure, but much better than expected. 7/10 |

| Strange show. Weak conflict, boring and naive MC, characters with zero flaws around her, perfect happy ending and plain presentation. At the same time half of episodes were really sweet, and some were quite interesting. Can’t call it bad by any means. Anyway, 5/10. Definitely not garbage, but also nothing special. |
| Nothing like a good old happy ending for everyone, I was worried about the lil brother the whole time and he has been just having a decent time all along, it was rather sweet to have the dad go back to school and Ruifon finally found his match with Anastasia, mom was beyond saving but you can't save them all, I was an idiot not realizing the mom was a read head all along so they got me there. |

In the world of Umas, this horse would've "goldshipped" him in the face for that name  If you want to know what happened to Xiaolan after the last season of The Apothecary Diaries, look no further:  BEST. Baron Shaderan lost everything that was important to him and has to watch his son have what should’ve been his, their mom has presumably had a mental break and is just staring out a window while she whittles away all while the girls are happy and thriving. Killing them is simple and the pain would come and go, now they’re fucked for the rest of their lives. |

| Honestly such an amazing romance anime, this is the first time I ever watched a Josei anime and it was so good! Im so glad Marie managed to get payback against her parents. The character development of Marie was amazing, she was finally able to have confidence in herself and stood up for herself The ending scene with the fireworks honestly brought me to tears of happiness, Im so glad they finally got married after many hardships Best romance anime I have watched in years, 10/10 rating from me!  |
| This episode could really use some Sasha's thoughts. Like how even the now ex-baron, even married the wife. And what even her plan was, truly. Did in the afterlife she just "Oh yeah! My son's jealousy that I didn't nip in the bud."? I think Sasha was the true villain. I imagine if there's another season, half of Marie's self-confidence progress will be thrown away. |

| I honestly disliked the finale. Everything was great, except for how the Shaderans were handled. Gregor verbally and physically abused Marie for years, and his only punishment is redoing school? He didn’t even apologize to his daughter for everything he put her through. Goodness gracious. And then there’s Elvira. Her “punishment” was being left alone with her Anastasia doll? Really? At the very least, it should’ve been house arrest where she couldn’t leave her home. Or I don’t know, maybe actual imprisonment, with the possibility of parole alongside her husband? Like, come on. Goodness. The only saving grace of this episode were the ships. First, Luiphon and Anastasia make such a hilarious couple. Second, Cedric and Cecilie are genuinely the cutest, most adorable couple to ever exist. And last but not least, Kyros and Marie finally got married! From the bottom of my heart, congratulations. |
| The ending leaves me wanting....a tiny bit more. Like a few post-marriage scene...the closest we got to that was a random tease of Kyros & Marie in bed...I guess that was a few episodes ago but DAMNIT THAT TEASE I WANTED A BIT MORE OF THAT. *get's bonked* Without that this was rather a generic closed-book ending that doesn't hint at another seasons at all.....which is such a bummer because I think a potential for more could be there (Luiphon x Anastasia, or maybe Cedric when he grows up & we see how Shaderan household holds up, and of course the main couple post-marriage) but the general mood is a "And they lived happily ever after" and they don't seem to want to expand on more :( Which, in my eyes, sort of brings my score of it down a tad cuz at it's core, it's honestly forgettable... PS: I'm going to miss you Mio |

| It was good at first but the last 2 episodes were incredibly dumb, like how is it a crime to not know a foreign language!? They should have come up with a better crime for MC's father. Dropping my rating from 8 to 6 for this one. |
| Solid ending. Parents got their just desserts. Did not expect her mom to be wearing a wig, that was... very surprising. Marie and Kyros have found happiness The prince and anastasia would make a fun sequel to this. Entirely, the show was well animated, the characters were interesting. It was cute and easy to enjoy overall. 10/10 ending 7/10 overall |

Or maybe the future queen? 👀 The punishment felt a bit too light to me, but oh well. What matters most is that Anastasia and Marie are finally free from their toxic parents. | Geez, I don't think even Disney films have this much of a piling on of good things happening at the end type of ending like this anymore. I've never really liked that type of ending because it feels so cheesy, cheap, or lazy. Or really, by lazy, it just feels like the easy way out when I'm looking for something a little more nuanced. Though I admit, I'm not too sure I would have been too happy with an ending where good people get good end and bad people get REALLY BAD end, like some stories do. That feels just as cheap to me. I'll accept the ending, of course, but in comparison to time taken on Marie's growth versus the conclusion, I just feel a little underwhelmed. While Marie's growth wasn't written perfectly or anything, I was at least able to digest it a lot better than if it was sadness and down on herself every second like... some... anime... Even folks with depression can still laugh and have fun every now and then, after all. Still it's not a bad ending, it just doesn't feel earned to me. I'm not much of a romance lover and am typically kinda picky about it, but here I actually didn't mind the romance and was more concerned about the other elements of the story than anything. I think the biggest thing was it was a bit predictable-- which romance itself is a bit predictable, but the other parts of the story were the most predictable, is more what I mean. And since romance typically is predictable, those other elements (or obstacles) usually need to be strong for me to really love the story. So I enjoyed myself enough because I was fine with the characters, but this isn't really an anime that leaves a strong lasting impression, is all. And that's fine... so a "fine" rating it is. |
| Sometimes this anime was frustrating and sometimes this anime was réconfortant and stimulant. A great love story between two different lifestyle people with a great happy ending, and even the bad people are going better! |
