| Damn, one problem causes another. With the sealed orochi back, you just know that it's a disaster awaiting to happen again. Luckily, Naofumi had a plan. Their world really does deserve a hero like him. |

| Holy shit they went so hard with the fight animation today. Raphtalia’s running scenes and ultimate sword attack and Sadeena’s Sakura/transformation scene looked so good! When they actually give this story the time and effort it deserves, we eat very good. I love shield hero episodes like this where we get ensemble fights and everyone gets a chance to shine. Taking down the beefed up ochi was no joke, of course everyone would have to chip in, worked out in the end but now I feel bad for Raphtalia because she’s torn between wanting to honor her parents’ legacy by taking the throne and not wanting to leave Naofumi and the others. Her parents would of course prioritise her happiness as they did before they died. Very good episode |

| Raphtalia's final hit against the hydra was pretty good with all the flowers petal everywhere, otherwise okayish fight especially the 1st one when the hydra during the 2nd half didn't look good because of the average CGI at least we got some good Raphtalia moments and Sadina's killer whale transformation lol |

| In which we take a big ol' info dump before going out to battle. Notable is that the "Evil Emperor" is just a kid and it's the regent doing all the bad stuff. There is something to be said about the way Naofumi can weave and spin a narrative to his advantage. The palette swap hydras were whatever. Regenerate, Barrier, Fire Breath, Poison Breath, Head Smash, wiggle around and try to look menacing. Truly a moveset for the ages. The Q Ten Lo arc is loaded with combat, and there seems to be even more on the way. Hope the animation budget can keep up. |

| Good episode. The action was really nice, good animation and the choreo felt right out of some RPG boss fight. There really is a lot going on here, huh? I have to admit Im impressed how this story manages to stay interesting even though the original revenge setting is long gone, we are not even fighting the waves and its all just a side arc. Blacksmith dude has his priorities right. Its refreshing having a character not like Naofumi this late into the story. The only thing I dislike it how goofy it is at times, an orca flying around, Filo as a fat bird getting carried by a dragon, just funny to see. Also I am completely lost with all the power systems we have now, its actually nice seeing Naofumi does not just solo everything, the whole crew is actually necessary here. |

| This shit is PEAK😭❤️ Anyone who thinks Shield Hero is now trash is completely deluded and blindly hating. Yk it's going to be good when they skip the OP. And Hydra(thanks for the trauma..) The fight looked visually stunning specially the Sadeena transformation. A flying dolphin is goofy but otherwise she was great. The cherry blossom effect is nice too.  Dk what will happen later it's unlikely she will become the empress but for now yes revolution, overthrow the regime all hail Empress Raphtalia.. If anything I am disappointed it's only 4 episodes left at best (maybe 3 because they will tease Pheonix arc judging from the trailer). Really should have skipped most of the boring crap of last arc. |
| I must say I think I'm seeing early signs of the 2nd/3rd season syndrome here, but let's hope it doesn't evolve from there. I feel like they cut quite a bit at the beginning of the episode, which is crazy, since they even cut the opening to make space to fit the entire battle. Anyways, during the battle they talk about the weapong that the blacksmith did for them that can break or at least compensate for the debuff they get from that stone thingy from last episode. Now, did they showed this, no. They just bring this up like we, the viewers, should know about this, because of course we should know beforehand what's happening. Well, the animation for the battle was certainly better than the last episode, but it wasn't amazing either. However, all things considered, it was ok, I just didn't feel like the battle was that great overall. They defeat that serpent thing (that was briefly explained earlier in the episode), and then Gaelion goes "Oh, hey, y'all, the serpent we defeated didn't have a core, so it was a clone, I could have mentioned this before, but why kill the surprise?" Then Naofumi, Raphtalia and some others go to the cave in order to find the real body, and Naofumi finds some writings about the Shield Holy Weapon, that he already knew about for some reason. What was the purpose of this. I don't know, maybe to show that "It's all connected". The fact is the anime never properly explained the whole connection between the various Kingdoms, and why the 4 heroes spawned in the same region, if they are needed everywhere, like, this whole setting was poorly explored so far, so this kind of "lore" doesn't have the same impact. I suppose they are going to bring Itsuki there and he'll be able to read something important, but following Naofumi, Itsuki should arlready know those "tricks" (oh, I forgot, the other 3 Heroes are useless). Besides this, it's incredible how this anime can't focus on exploring characters. In the first half of this season they actually explored Fohl and Atla (more of Fohl honestly) characters, although the others got sidelined, it was still some progress. So now they are focusing on Raphtalia and Naofumi (I suppose), and the others are getting sidelined. But even so, Raphtalia and Naofumi were barely explored so far. This anime continues to make the cast grow, but it has such an hard time exploring the relationships between the characters, that it just makes me wonder why they made the group so big. Some characters at this point just say their "characteristic" lines (like Atla saying she wants to fight for Naofumi, and Fohl following up with "I'll protect you Atla"). Itsuki and Rishia have the same impact to the story as the other npcs at this point. Sorry for this little rant, it's just frustrating to see this anime continue to fail to even be close to the 1st season. While this season was getting close to it (and the first half was proof of that), I'm feeling it will end up as the other 2 previous seasons, which is sad, because this season showed it's not a problem of the source material, but rather of the adaptation. And I must admit most of the problems I am having right now with the whole setting of the anime are due to the lack of explanations from the previous seasons, but it's not like they are doing much to correct that either. Anyways, let's see how the next episode is. |

| Pretty good episode I loved the entire fight. Lots of power ups and upgrades for everyone. The entire battle felt like a team effort which I really love seeing. Feels like there's a point to everyone being here. I'm also a sucker for seeing Naofumi in the support/leadership position because that's where he shines the most. He's a great strategist when it comes to fighting, because he wasn't given everything like the other heroes. He had to make do with what he has and this battle clearly shows that with everyone getting a turn to shine. Love how Fohl is really getting a leg up on his little sister finally. For once in his life he was way more useful then her. It was also cool seeing Sadeena and Raphtalia fight together. Same with the Hydra monster, really digged its design. I enjoyed this episode much more than the last and I'm looknig forward to the next episode. |

| This was an action-packed episode and it certainly was another tricky one for Naofumi's group to deal with. Dealing with the first hydra was a challenge, although the teamwork from everyone was excellent. However, it took time for them to finally lure out the real hydra, Orochi, out from its hiding spot and into the open. Sadeena's transformation and attacks alongside Raptalia's blossom finisher was pretty well done in terms of visuals and fighting direction. It was a satisfying result overall. =) Now with that settled, it seems the focus of the soldiers are aimed at Filo due to the colours of her feathers. I'm guessing she'll have an important part to play in the next episode. If so, then I'm definitely looking forward to it! |
| Atla you dummy, she missed out on a new weapon, but who can blame her when the old man is a weirdo. It seems Filo will also be pretty important here, it is nice her and Raphtalia are getting the spotlight since they have been sidelines for quite a while. |

| That was amazing. But Sadeena and Raphtalia pretty much soloed Orochi, wish the others contributed more in the last fight lol, but that was still cool. Even the Map of Q'Ten Lo is Japan, I assume the thing about moving the capital is like when it moved from Nara to Kyoto? Orochi even has the canon 'lore' of having Kusanagi inside him lol, and Muramasa with a "cursed sword", if I remember right, the swords forged by Muramasa are considered cursed irl too. Now I wonder who will use that sword? Ren could have it. There are more sealed monsters across the country and it would be cool to see more japanese myths like Tamamo-no-Mae. I wouldn't really like for Raphtalia to become the empress. |

| Naofumi's team has gotten really strong, normally a monster that tough might take two episodes to deal with it. But then again they might be pressed for time after taking so long with the Siltvelt arc. It amuses me as well that Muramasa is all but ignoring Naofumi. |
| How things have changed between seasons that now even the most secondary of secondary characters can disrespect Naofumi without consequences... OK-ish episode. Not boring nor bad but not remarkable either. 3D hydra looked weird at times and there were some goofy things happening throughout the fight but all in all, I would say it was a decent action-packed episode. |
| Has anyone noticed that, 2 episodes in, the horny blacksmith dude still doesn't have a fkng name? No one has mentioned it lol Naofumi has way too many companions now, he doesn't fight in the front line anymore and that's boring, bro is the shield hero, a literal tank for his party, yet all he does now is stay on the rear giving orders and buffs, so lame. And yeah I know he can spawn shields everywhere to protect the others, but that doesn't change the fact he doest really fight anymore. They should really drop Naofumi and center this around Rapthalia, she sctually fights and gets stronger with new weapons, moves, etc, while Naofumi is like "omg look this cool new shield I got from scanning apiece of shit on the floor, it gives attack boost and poison resistance+1000000" lol I mean it jas always been this way really, but now it's even more noticeable since he doesn't even go to the front line. |

| @dazedcowcow62 Revenge certainly does not have to be the main theme for the franchise. It's fine that it was resolved in season 1. The issue is just the writing and direction varies, season 2 for example. And S4 is just rather okayish. They have abandoned the whole medieval fantasy theme and instead focused on feudal japan, which the show already did in season 2, danimachi already did this. It's whole setting is rather shaky now. It should've just stayed adventuring around the world doing some Waves here and there, and they've entirely dropped that. Glass isn't around anymore, Naofumi and Ralptalia aren't going mining to collect resources anymore. |

| I’m not particularly fond of this season, more because of the plot than the narrative itself — but I have to say this was a genuinely solid, well-directed episode. The music was great, the battle choreography was on point, and overall it really delivered. |
