Yeah, this look into Midori's life and her relationship with LoveGreen is just strange. I mean, Midori has a bit of an ego but LoveGreen is the classic otaku.

On another note, Nazuna looked funny this episode and this was an investigation. Not going to lie, I think the characterization this season has been solid, perhaps even better than the previous.

Well yeah, there was no way Haru and the human guy would’ve been alive. For the sake of convenience, it’s much better if they’re dead. All of this is something which will come into picture later down the line too, so I’m content with this arc for the time being. That aside, sometimes it’s actually baffling how terrified these people are from that detective lol. I mean, weakness and stuff aside, y’all are fucking vampires at the end of the day… if it comes down to the worst, you can do some really supernatural stuff and escape the scene, at the very least lol..

.. really, I mean you’re a vampire so, there ain’t much reason to sweat buckets, except of course, you’re an otaku or something, and have little to no experience with stuff which comes outside your expertise. Midori’s otaku guy is hilarious, and most importantly, someone who’s the very image of how an otaku looks like lmao. Didn't think btw they'd take a complete episode for covering the stuff around him.. was a bit eh tbh, but okay. The thing with school starts next episode, so yeah looking forward to that xD

As for the rest of the episode, the otaku subplot didn’t really grab me personally, even though it was adapted really well! They portrayed the otaku role in a very sweet way this episode — and the sweetest part? He made ecchi manga books for Midori! Hahahahahaha!

I cracked up when Nazuna tried to comfort him before burning his books! Oh my god! See you all next week!

3:40 oh my, holding hands with intertwining fingers 🤭

Nazuna going crazy over Akihabara 🤣

16:30 Akinator 🤣 love that app. Scary.

Both Nazuna and Ko read his doujinshi at the end 🤣 personally, I too thought doujinshi was always Ecchi, but turns out it’s not always. But it certainly can be.

I just watched this after finishing a quiz right now in class. I had to sing along quietly at the end to the ED 😅

The way this series has totally grown on me since the lesbian vampire arc .. I really wanna read it now I’ve become a proper fan lol. Not as good an episode as the previous 2-3, but after the heavy story elements it is nice to kinda go back to this series more chill roots.

My heart dropped when Kabura said Haru and her husband had died. I just feel so robbed because I was holding out hope Kabura/Nazuna would be able to see Haru again someday, but she truly is gone and Kabura is the only mother Nazuna has ever known. It’s such a heartbreaking story on multiple levels because Kabura basically got cucked, raised the kid and then can’t even cry in Haru’s arms or get mad at her 😢 just feels sad because of the finality of her death. Dying because she wouldn’t drink blood just shows how much she cared for Nazuna’s dad..

“We’ll find more favourite places together” ok this was cute. I guess I can like this ship now since Nazuna is really about Kou’s same age mentally since she was born as a teenager essentially. Still confused on how that works in terms of labor.. but hey, anime lol

Not Nazuna acting like an excited little kid meeting another otaku vampire.. lol. It’s funny this season has taught me that we’d be amazing friends. She’s an otaku and into NTR doujinshi.. Nazuna irl bestie when??

Hilarious end to the ep with Kou learning about otaku culture 😂 this was fun.

Loved the episode! I mean, we all know Midori from the vampire gang, but I definitely didn’t expect her to have such an adorable side. She was absolutely adorable throughout the entire episode! Love was also hilarious the whole time, especially with Sugita Tomokazu voicing him, haha.

The coolest otaku around, with a golden voice that sounds just like Tomokazu Sugita.

The last 2 episodes were very dramatic and excellent, but it's good to go back to a more chill atmosphere.

Where is the damn 7 out 5 button for this episode?

"Well, that was pretty crazy."
Nazuna is remarkably chill considering all the revelations.

Giving birth greatly weakens a vampire here. Is that just with hybrid vampire child, or also a pure vampire child/ Do pure vampire pregnancies even occur?

Interlaced handhold, speaking of the future together.

Wotaku Nazuna is special.

Love-kun, huh.
"Did I was poetic again?"
"Freaking out Milady is a joy in itself."
No doubt.

They really need to bundle that dojinshi with the next DVD release.

This anime is at its top form when it return to a non-serious story, a view of city at night, a lo-fi atmosphere. I used to think that I'm the first person to describe this anime as "lo-fi", but there are already a lot of people calling that.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

It's sad that Nazuna's parents are dead. But I already feared something like this would happen. I figured that they may have been victims of vampire hunters. But it's kind of a relief that they had somewhat natural deaths. It's crazy that Haru stopped drinking blood altogether. Did she try to commit to being a human again? At first I thought it was strange why she couldn't just drink the blood of her husband. Then I remembered that if she did that her husband would turn into a vampire too... It's tragic. But at least they probably led a good life. It's a shame that she only lived 10 years after being married. Possibly even less cause the more she resisted the urge the worse she'd get. But who knows. I wonder if they at least saw their child again or if they tried to have more children later. So many questions that will probably be left unanswered.

Anyway, this episode was a lot like a Season 1 episode. It was like Nazuna and Ko going to random places and meeting weird people again. That was refreshing. LG is actually such a chill dude. Hard to even see him as a vampire lol. It's great that Nazuna was able to meet a real "wotaku"... whatever that is. Shame about his doujin being burned. But at least he's safe. It's wild that Midori is actually into guys like him. Now her quote from S1 makes more sense.

Funny how Ko imagined Nazuna in sunny scenes in the post-credits. I wonder if she can ever experience a life like that. But her account of discovering the lights being from humans at the start was very good. So I think she's just as fine just having the night. But ideally you'd want to be able to experience both or at least having the option just in case, you know?

LoveGreen is the coolest otaku around, he even sacrificed his precious Midori-chan doujinshi without any trouble. Full respect for that. It was also nice to have a more laid-back episode after Kabura's backstory, reminded me of S1 with Kou and Nazuna just fooling around.

Another beautiful episode ✨💖
All those night lights and vibrant colours never ceases to amaze me. Nazuna's expressions were so cute in this episode whether she's contemplating or when she's acting like a creepy otaku 😄❤️❤️
I think she might be an even bigger otaku and pervert than Love Green lol
Midori and Love Green are so good for each other. It has to be Tomokazu Sugita to voice Love Green. Who else would be the better choice than him to voice an Otaku, haha
Never thought that Midori would have such a sweet spot to Otakus and Virgin males. She didn't get mad at Love Green even when she knew he drew an ecchi doujinshi on her🤣😂

Nice lil “sonder” realization right there.

Ah yes, the great life of the typical otaku or wotaku huh.

LG funny asl without trying, I fear.

Fourth wall breaking??

Maybe LG and Midori's relationship was better than we thought.

School once again.. Ngl, I thought this ep was gonna be boring, but man was it funnier than expected.

Call of the Night certainly knows how to make the backdrop scenery look great and the nighttime view of the bustling city which Nazuna showed to Kou is up there with the best scenic views that this series has offered so far.

Their talk about going to places led them to Akihabara with Midori, where Nazuna was very excited while also wearing a really charming outfit herself. It was here that we got introduced to Midori's offspring, LoveGreen. The man was the MVP of this episode in my opinion. Not only was he voiced by Tomokazu Sugita himself, but his personality and love for otaku made him a very entertaining character to watch during his chat with Midori, Nazuna and Kou.

It also made me like Midori more as well for being into guys like LG. The fact that he went as far as to make his own doujin book based on her makes me respect him even more. Still, for the sake of their safety, the books had to be burnt, where Nazuna's way of cheering him up was pretty funny. Also, Kou was naughty to even read the book, despite not being old enough to read one in the first place. XD

Looks like I’m not the only one that got the Season 1 vibes from this episode, and I’m very happy about that, I’ve seen some takes that the show got good when the plot kicked in but I couldn’t disagree more, episodes where Kou and Nazuna are goofing around at night are favorites of mine. This one was focused on Midori which took us to meeting Love Green or LG (odd name choice for an otaku lol), one of Midori’s offspring, and he was quite the character, he had the otaku role down pat but was a very kind fellow, I guess those two things aren’t mutually exclusive but it was still surprising lol.

And I really do love the relationship Midori and LG have, LG is an oddball and Midori loves him for it, it doesn’t get better than that. And LG’s valuable past item was related to Midori even, being a doujin about her lol, the reveal was funny but seeing the copies burned was actually pretty emotional, but it’s like Nazuna said, LG can always make another one, and lol so that was Kou’s first ever doujin huh, not a bad way to experience them for the first time. There were a few other things besides the Midori and LG stuff tho, like the reveal that Nazuna’s parents are dead, if that’s true then it’s a real shame, but Nazuna took it well at least, although I wonder what her dad was like, I guess it’s good that Kabura had a good impression of him. And Anko said there are other ways to kill vampires, silver bullet maybe? I’m very interested in knowing what it is.

And lastly, I really loved Nazuna’s explanation on why that spot was a favorite place of her’s, I’m with her on finding it comforting that every little light is a person with their own lives, I really like that.

This show really has a way of flipping a switch. From sad backstories filled with regret to a funny gag, to a calm night sky with the lights of a city. It kinda calm me down when the characters are just joking around with witty jokes at each other. I dont have anything to say, it feels like all the writing I wanna do has been zapped away from me.

But truly, the two duo are two steps ahead of the detective. Literally saving their vampair friends and their offsprings lives. Also, AN OTAKU WITH AN IRON-MAN POSTER HOLY SHIT.
Cool ass otaku. Man I havent heard the word otaku since 2020, or since anime become mainstream. Which i have my opinion towards but OTAKU-SHI mentioned. I think that topped it off for me. Although, I am still anticipating that chaos feeling to come raining down since we're deep in the weekly episodes now.

But this show does not do any sort of tension building, and if it did it usually breaks it off with one the characters either making a witty, self-aware joke. so it fails to make me anticipate seriousness early on. But now, might happen.

Plot: 10/10 De gozaru

Theme: otalku out of De gozaru

Characters: Otaku De gozaru

Back Story: Cool De gozaru

Anyway, I watched two other shows before this and wrote my fingers off. So, if this comes off as weak. I am. I am still practicing and trying to write better and model myself to write a WORDY review.

Based otaku episode? Fitting that it's in Akihabara!

This was a pretty chill episode, with Nazuna and Kou coming out the hospital and having some fun in Akihabara. We got to see Midori again with one of her vampire underlings in LoveGreen, and my, they seem to really love each other. The scenes that were making fun of otaku were tasteful and quite hilarious, especially when we saw LoveGreen's doujinshi of Midori. Dude was a Midori stan and I honestly cannot blame him for that whatsoever. I'm surprised how clueless Kou was about otaku culture, but he definitely learned something new in this episode!

What a hilarious episode. But kind of sweet too. Midori searching for links to her past turns to her offspring who is the stereotypical otaku. No judgement though. In his devotion he has conveniently collected relics of Midori's past life. Coincidentally his one weakness was a doujinshi he made of Midori that didn't sell a single copy! They have a bonfire to get rid of it all and seeing Kou reading the doujinshi just cracked me right up XD

I thought the episode was going to be a serious one because of the delayed Op and intense start, but it turned out to be one of the sweetest one from the series. Midori-san is a definite keeper and her just shielding her offspring from others is hilarious, and the dynamic between the two fantastic as well. Doujinshi too, I'm surprised Nazuna-chan's aware of all that. Stereotypical Otaku segments and shows usually give me a good impression, I wonder that says about me xD - Is what I was thinking from time to time while watching the ep.

By the drop early on, I figured the beach would be coming next but it's school for now. Nazuna-chan never got to experience it because of her unique circumstances as we learned just last episode of course, so it'll be interesting to see how she takes it.

Hello! I hope you’re doing well and in great health!

I’m glad you agree with me, that’s awesome.

Regarding the topic of you feeling this episode was a filler, let’s be honest—I'm not defending the anime, but isn’t this actually the overall level of the show? I’m not even talking about the second season—let’s take a step back… wasn’t episode 6 pretty much like season 1?

The first five episodes raised the pace so much that we forgot the whole purpose of this work was originally to just pass the time at night—hence the title Call of the Night!

I hope you have a wonderful day, and may the smile never leave your face! :]
