Meh, this season finale felt underwhelming. It didn't even give a season finale-like vibes as Arthur takes on a mask and also teaming up with Jasmine on an adventure. This anime suddenly remembered Jasmine exists again and gives her some spotlight.

At least this episode did protray Arthur like a badass so that's cool I guess. Season 2 next year 2026.

Arthur following Jasmine to Xyrus's Adventurers Guild, though concealed with a mask for safety reasons, meets the guild chief of Kaspian Bladeheart with his pseudonym name of Note for the rank assessment. Though of the examinees, 11-year-old conjurer Lucas Wykes shows a lot of prowess for his age, yet has this ego and pride that deems him far worse than they assumed, cementing him at B-class. And when it comes to Arthur, the AA-class rank Kaspian personally overseeing his exam, he gets the usual B-class rank. Towards kids like Lucas hailing from where Tessia is from, and Elijah Knight, who hails from the dwarves's Darv Kingdom as the first human representative, also a B-class, it's Arthur whom they know less about, and if there's one thing to note, he has grown too used to the new world that he's losing his connection with King Grey.

The beast pasture which Jasmine brings Arthur to, it's a good training ground, all things considered. But to encounter a wild boar that's not native to the area, Arthur acting like King Grey to take it down, certainly was worth the effort to refocus. However, all is not right with Jasmine being labelled as useless with no element of ther fire magic, and her discipline as part of the Twinhorns still being kept at close watch, she still has aways to go. Likewise ith Tessie being apart from Arthur, and the encouragement for her to start something anew, might as well be for the time apart.

The timeskip of 2 years serving him well with Jasmine to call the end of Season 2 of the Webtoon...
...and Arthur's journey, continues in Season 2 (or appropriately, Season 1's 2nd Cour) coming out next Spring.

By then, who would want to watch one of the biggest "fall from grace" shows of recent times?

These fools didn’t even bother to bat an eye to the FINALE, why should I even bother writing about this… Like yeah, cool that Kaspian fight wasn’t still frames…. Instead it was just mindless word spamming. I actually can’t man, where the comedy tag in this because this show got the most laughs outta me this season.

Genuinely one of the most boring shows I’ve watched to date. If the season that season two airs in is like omega dry, then I’ll maybe consider, but otherwise I’m out here.

I still laugh at all the hype webtoon’s fans cultivated before anime start. Calling it best isekai or better than Mushoku Tensei is still as hilarious as it may seem.

The worst part is that Saikyou no Ousama’a main problem is not a quality of adaptation. Sure, it is not Solo Leveling. Well, it’s not even at the level of first season of Tower of God. But saying this is the worst adaptation ever is exaggerating and blatant lie. Every season we get enough shittier isekais and non-isekais than this.

But in the end, like I said, the problem is not the art and animation (tho i would probably rate it higher with god-tier direction, sure), but the WRITING. I mean, anyone calling this better than MT or whatever is obviously knows nothing about what good writing is or what it should be.

Yes, The Beginning After The End is far from the worst thing in the world, but these first 12 eps showed pretty clear that the story is generic as one could get. Characters are bad and one sided. MC is a joke. I kinda looked at webtoon and it is not much different honestly.

Who knows, may be next season will be better plot-wise, but I heard later webtoon chapters (that are few seasons away) are a drag, which don’t give much hope. Is it even possible to be more boring than these twelve uneventful episodes?

Anyway, an OK seasonal show. 5/10.

Authur nickname Note: Authur wear a mask only this episode. Exam hall/battle hall, students testing out magic skills. Chief Master challenge Authur to a duel, Authur moved up to B ranked. Beast went full rampage against village people, future Grey tells Authur when to strike demon beast. "Wait for the right moment." Authur flame sword destroy beast. Episode jump to two year later: Flamesworth girl Jasmine, masked swordman Authur, start another journey. Not sure if future Grey help Authur more in season 2? Looking forward to season 2 next year 2026. Going to miss opening song: Kingsblood. I hope season 2 gets better opening and closing song.

This show has very low ratings, but I kind of liked it 😅

They seem to had already confirmed that there would be a second season last week, and this episode was very much framed around setting up season two (with Tessia being given a mysterious book/grimoire, and the post-credits scene having a two year time-skip where Arthur is apparently really strong).

I'm pretty interested for season two. I can't remember when Arthur said he would go back to the Magic Academy (?), but showing him adventuring a little more could be cool.

And so we end with a rank test, some Tessia spying and a time skip.

And so ends what was arguably my most controversial show of the season, though only in the sense that I didn't seem to hate it as much as everyone else lol. This show certainly had issues. It was very generic, with often poor animation and yet I couldn't help but enjoy it. Now keep in mind I went into this blind so I can't speak for the source material or what's to come, but my biggest problem with this was that the story itself felt too fragmented. The pacing I mean. Every time something interesting would come up we'd jump to dragons or elves or whatnot. Then when that got interesting it was time to do something else. It felt like too much was being crammed into 12 episodes and needed more time to breathe. Which is interesting because this has already gotten an announced second cour. Had I known it was going to get one that wasn't immediate going in, I'd have probably held off on watching this until the season before that second cour started so I could watch it all at once, consecutively, but oh well. Regardless, I did like what I watched enough to award an admittedly generous 7/10. There were a good number of series I watched this season that I enjoyed less than this, but I guess I wouldn't try to argue its merits if you didn't enjoy it either.

it's unfortunate how an amazing manhwa with so much depth and character development was met with a disaster of an anime. although it says season 2, the show was going to be 2 cours anyways but just got rebranded to a second season. hopefully "season 3" will be made by a better studio or the same but with better animation

@GooseHybrid It mainly has low ratings as compared to the source material the adaptation is quite lacklustre. In season 2 you'll see Arthur go to the Academy don't worry, just won't be in the first few episodes

@Kai200X he is above B rank, but anime cut it (and a looot more in this episode, like in others).
In summary, while in the fight, Kaspian understands that Arthur is holding back, and in the last moment, when Arthur would show his true power, Kaspian ended the fight saying that he exaggerated and asked Arthur if he wanted to be ranked down to not attract too much attention and Arthur confirmed.

Never been so glad to pick up and binge the whole of the manhwa after episode 3, cause my god, the anime was atrocious! Not just the animation but the dialogue and emotional reactions in the anime were just so underwhelming, at least I got an idea now what they sound like so I can picture their voices when reading the manhwa. Anyways, this getting a season 2 needs to be studied

The visual effects, the narrative, the characters, the animation... every aspect failed. The jumps and changes in the story were so distracting that it was really hard to follow. If it weren't for my self-imposed rule of never giving up on a series once I've started it, I would have given up on this one without a doubt.

The only positive thing about this disaster was that the inconsistencies of the adaptation pushed me to start reading the manhwa, and while I haven't read much of it yet, it's already clear how disappointing it is for fans.

Honestly, I'm surprised that there's already a second season confirmed. And since I'm a "masochist" I'll watch it but I hope it gets better. I really thought this would be another Solo Leveling style push to get more manhwas known... but nope.

Almost didn't pick this up because of the low rating. Turned out to be quite good and interesting!

This anime is a good example on to not trust MAL rating.

The story is like reverse Solo Leveling. The MC used to be quite strong but now weak and gradually going to become overpowered.

It's nice to see next season already confirmed, looking forward to it.

I mean if the source material is really that good and the only issue are the animations, then why the fuck is it like every other isekai each season? There is nothing exceptional here, hell the animation ranging from bad to mediocre, fits perfectly.

This disgrace is finally over. The source you have is at a level that can compete with isekai anime that you can count in the top 5, even better than some, but you make them do something like this. They really fooled the writer. They skipped and glossed over many events in the last episode. They simplified everything so much that if they think they can fool the fans with such bad content, they are really wrong. They urgently need to give the second season to another studio. Even the isekai that I watched knowing they were average were much better than this season. If the same studio makes the second season, I won't watch the rest, there are very good episodes coming and I want them to stay in my mind as I imagined and saw them in the manwha.

I wish I hadn't spoiled myself with the manga, maybe I wouldn't feel as strongly as I do about this final episode. Not only did it cut a bunch of scenes (and added new ones with the giant boar fight if I'm not mistaken?), the content that was shown in the episode were just a bunch of non-sequiturs that gave the illusion of story progression.

Also how are you going to make the exam fight for a previously unnamed character longer than the main characters fight, and only show a bit of the fight as a flashback. He's actively made to look way weaker than what he actually was like, since his examiner only did an air push because he was actively scared for his own safety, and not because he was lsome wise swordsman who was eagues above Arthur.

I really am glad this anime introduced me to the manga though, it wasn't all negative, but I cannot in good conscious rate this anywhere above a 4.

I usually like or even love trashy series like this when they really tried to adapt the source material, but this one? they ruined it! Since MC parted with Tessia and Sylvie...
Animation: 4/10★

> Source material getting cut by over half of the things you hoped to be animated, but somehow never got the cut because the studios creating it has no brain to actually do their job.
Story: 2/10★

Should I even tell you what I liked about this series...?!
Character development: 1/10★.

In the end, there was really no hope of making this series a reality; that's just how they make this hidden gem, a trash of a lifetime. Yes, the story is probably generic as it can be, but the adaptation just made it worse.
World Building: 2/10

Wait, there's a sequel for this trashly-adapted series?!
I'd rather they went and made this season better than reallocate the budget for two seasons, because it was not worth it. Music 7/10★ (only the music, both op and ed, made this series bearable, and mostly because of Tessia.)

I forgot to say my score.
3/10★.
I only liked Arthur and mostly Tessia's adventure, after that, time skipping just made this series bad in my taste.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Not the finale i expected, well the events were on point but skipping one of the best fights in the series and showing hints of it with a weird flashback was a disgusting move,

Overall there are things i liked from this adaptation, they definitely need to work on animation especially for the next arc that and they should slow down a bit with the pacing which kills the impact of some scenes at times, i believe this could be become more than a fine adaptation with the right tweaks

I wanted to give it a 6/10 but i'll go with 5.5 because i hate how they treated that hype fight,

Also opening was decent and this still has one the best ending of the season fight me

I assume they skipped the entire fight for the rank assessment because animating it would've been a pain in the neck, but come on, this is unacceptable. Up until this episode I was willing to let the atrocious animation quality slide because the overall vibe was still pretty decent but this was a slap in the face. How the hell does a studio accept the task of adapting a manga into an anime but skip some important and interesting parts because those don't fit into the animation budget??? That ruins the purpose of the adaptation altogether. Or maybe it was the fault of those that commissioned the adaptation as they couldn't raise enough money to do it properly, I'm not 100% certain on the inner workings of the anime industry. Regardless, this is really unacceptable.

As for an overall assessment, it's a weird project both in manga and anime form because with my critical thinking skills temporarily turned off the characters are endearing, the story is kind of engaging and the vibe is good, but from a proper storytelling standpoint it's all total garbage. It's mostly just random things happening one after the other because the story wants the protagonist to be OP and it hands him stuff on platters again and again. Like, falling off a random cliff straight into the lap of a dragon that then gifts you its will which makes you the strongest person in the entire universe, come the flurk on. This is bulldust they would immediately kick you out of a proper writers' kindergarten for.

Honestly, this was the most underwhelming anime finale one could imagine. I get that Arthur has become a B-Rank Adventurer, and that both he and Jasmine have apparently gained fame over the two-year timeskip, but i don't know, something still felt missing.

It just felt like a regular episode. We still don’t know who or what Sylvie really is. We don’t know what idea Tessia came up with. We don’t even know what Arthur and Jasmine’s goals are, they're just traveling for no clear reason. I honestly don't know what to say.

That said, I’ll still watch the second season. I haven't read its manhwa, so watching is the only way I can follow the story. The ride was fun, slow-paced at times, but enjoyable nonetheless. Despite being the most underwhelming finale I’ve ever seen, honestly.
