Just a shower thought, i would like to know some Animes that are bad, but in contrast the manga is great.
Some that come to my mind are Tokyo Ghoul (part 2 i think), The Promised Neverlands season 2 and Berserk (2016).
I haven't watched or read any of these those are just the best known from this field.

So as a mostly anime watcher, who slowly gets into manga, i'd like to hear any manga that is better than the anime, but not by a bit but by far.

Without the answers that had already been said I will nominate:

Beelzebub - and that's only on me, because I decided to read the manga alongside watching it. [and I rarely do that XD] and well seeing all the filler and manga changes from episode to episode, just made me mad at a show, that I would maybe enjoy either way.

So yeah, that was only my mistake XD.

Medaka Box is one of the greatest shonen of all time, written by the guy who penned the Monogatari novels, but the anime adaptation was so mid everyone forgot about it even though it was a Shonen Jump title.

Majority of ecchi anime are worse than their manga original, so yeah. Mostly budget and time limit reasons.

My hot takes here are Berserk (I mean when compared to the supposedly good 1997 adaptation) and 3-gatsu no Lion.

If we talk about anime that most people consider bad but the manga is great, my pick is Baraou no Souretsu (but I love the anime too despite its low quality).

@JoeChip It means that I personally like the manga way more than the anime (because the manga lets you skim through the unfunny comedic panels and anything related to shogi).

Well, the Naruto anime may be bad, but the Naruto manga (on the other hand) was pretty good.

So you are unable to use fast forward or skip scenes while watching anime, got it.

Seikon no Qwaser manga was a solid edgelord shonen in manga form that went into some interesting directions; sadly the anime decided to turn it into a full ecchi fiesta, not that I am complaining but it could have been more. In the first season they had screwed the story so hard by killing off what was the main villain, it was impossible to continue even if they wanted, so after they caught up to the manga they opted for filler for the second half of the 2nd season, and then the show silently wallowed out.

@JoeChip yeah, I'm against such practices:

- I always watch youtube videos at 2x speed because I only care about what they say and not how they say it, but anime is different because I do care about the things that would be ruined if watched at a different speed (e.g. directing, soundtrack)
- I'm ok with skipping entire filler episodes but I wouldn't skip individual scenes, I'd rather drop the whole thing

@Eldinis While MA's quality is questionable, it is not an adaption but a continuation. The manga leads into the light novels which lead into the anime.

"Whispering You A Love Song" comes to mind, great manga but the anime is riddled with animation errors and they cut out so much to cover the Shiho arc that it wrecked the pacing (Yori & Himari's first kiss was relegated to an audio drama instead of being part of the anime for instance)

Gantz. Gonzo's anime adaptation is pure ass but the original manga borders on being a masterpiece when it's at its best.

The Netflix Baki series. The main draw of Baki is the distinct, meticulous, often bizarre art and posing of Itagaki, and the anime just completely fails to transfer any of that. The animation is cheap, either overusing still frames + a moving background or resorting to terrible-looking CGI. It ruins some of the best fights of the manga arc it covers, and a lot of Baki's pacing issues regarding overuse of narration become way worse when you can't just read it quickly. I don't know about the other seasons (from what I've heard the animation improves a bit and there's less cheap CGI) but that first season is just not it.

I'd have to go with Letter Bee. The pacing in the manga was far superior, it was truly a let down for me because I was so looking forward to the anime version back in the day.

some manga deserve a second chance with a proper adaptation maybe one day, The Way of the House-husband and Police in a Pod will get the anime they truly deserves.

when you expect fluid animation but get glorified PowerPoint transitions instead from Netflix.

7 Seeds

The manga is great, so it's a shame to hear that the anime adaptation was ass and killed any tension the series has by revealing characters and plot points way before their time. It deserves an anime adaptation that will do the story justice and bring the series the recognition that it deserves. "7 Seeds" could've been huge.

berserk, anything by Ito Junji like uzumaki for example, while not necesarily bad but bleach manga is way better than 2004 anime in many aspects especially something like inoue character she is very different in comparison to 2004 anime which was thankfully fixed in the thousand year blood war anime.

The manga is 90%+ of the time better than the adaptation. The only times it's not are series with a lot of action that get really good animation in their adaptations, like Demon Slayer, FLCL, Attack on Titan, Kaiju No. 8, etc. Otherwise, especially in manga where the story is what really matters (like Frieren, Kaguya, and Spy x Family), the manga is the way to go. Another bonus for reading manga is it saves time if you care about that; once you read manga a decent amount you notice there is a ton of padding in anime. One anime episode typically adapts three ~20 page chapters, which can be read in about half the time as an episode is watched.

All that being said, I stopped reading manga for the most part because anime is more relaxing and easier to consoooom, even if it's usually an inferior product, and since I didn't really care for reading shonen manga, it meant a lot of adaptations ended up being underwhelming.

In Spy x Family story really matters, huh? I must have missed that among all the slapstick jokes and the comments talking about Anysa's cuteness while trying to tell a barely coherent story. You learn something new everyday.

And I don't see how anime is more relaxing or easier to consume than manga but whatever you say.

Last but not least, I must say the number of manga in your list is pretty underwhelming as well.

That's a very much a one trick pony kind of comedy with zero originality. I am actually surprised the manga was serialized in the first place, let alone it got an anime adaptation. I suppose Japanese people have a thing for Yakuza parodies.

FMA is easily my most favorite manga ever and I feel like neither of both adaptations can compare. I love the 03 version, but ofc the half of it isn't true to the original, so I'd still choose manga. As for FMAB, the comedy and fanservice are incredibly annoying (something I never experienced while reading)
