| Nice to see how Shinobu got her start. Looking forward to see her story continued. I guess that mirror world version of her in Zoku Owarimonogatari had truth to it. Now I can also see why she didn't like Nadeko at one point. She probably saw a bit her past self in Nadeko and despised her for it. Nadeko was always adored and told she was cute but like Shinobu she got tired of just being recognized for appearance alone. Now that Nadeko is doing what she wants, Shinobu approves her character even more now. |

| That was an interesting, shorter-length episode to act as a prologue seemingly to Acerola Bon Appétit, which I've heard good things about. A slower pace and different style of presentation showcased but one that works for me in exploring the journey of Shinobu's life that she had as a princess and a human before becoming Kiss-Shot. Zokuowarimonogatari did give some ideas as to how the princess lived and how it was almost like a curse when Araragi went mad and was even willing to die by just being in her presence there so this episode ties in well with the additional context. Could be very interesting to learn more about her characterization in the upcoming few episodes and this prologue, while not its most exciting episode for a special, did an effective job regardless and still managed to be unique in its own way. |

| As someone who loves Shinobu... very excited for her arc. Also... her predicament with the artist reminded me of Tomie... like they always think they can't quite get to translate her beauty, that part. |

| Wasn’t expecting an episode like this today, but it was a cool little prologue that gave us even more insight on what Shinobu’s past was like, as well as giving more context to why Araragi wanted to die while talking to her in the mirror world in Zoku Owari. Of course it is a bit hard to believe, there’s more to live for than someone that’s a peak human in both looks and soul, but it is a cool fairytale-ish story and fits right in the Monogatari universe, it definitely has me hyped for the coming arc. Also cool that they used a different part of the ED at the end of this episode, I wonder if this means they’ll do that when the next arc starts too. Also, if this ends up getting its own MAL entry I’ll probably copy and paste this post. |

| @watsym this is an extra episode adapting the short story(prologue of wazamonogatari) and apparently this is an important of the series to understand Kiss-Shot more in wazamonogatari arc. Since monogatari is streaming and not airing on TV, shaft can do whatever they want with the schedule. So if there 14 episodes we still have 8 more episodes left I believe. |

| Interesting way to blend different characters' narratives together. The story was about Shinobu's past but connected her to Nadeko and her disdain at only being thought of as cute. And I wonder if they body parts being severed and offered is related to Suruga's monkey paw and the mummified corpse. |

| Shaft be like: And now for something completely different. The story about the princess was quite interesting and this episode could really be a totally separate thing, not related to the Monogatari series at all, if it weren't for the last words. |

Also, this episode provided more explanation as to why Araragi felt like he had to kill himself in the mirror world when he was near Princess Kiss-Shot. | I knew Shinobu's story was only lightly touched upon back in Final Season (?). But this one really had the details of the tragic tale. Short, concise and to the point. Makes me feel sorry for Shinobu even more. |
