lol that new Zaregoto came out of nowhere. I remember just finishing the 9th and seeing news of a sequel since 2005 or something.

Yeah same. So I looked up the release date of Ikusa, which was in May 2023. That means we're currently on the longest Monogatari novel drought since Bake was serialized. Not sure if Nisio is on to some new project, but hopefully we get it by the end of 2025.

Seems like Nisio planned to write more but yeah, there's currently only one arc in Ikusa.
I remember Nisio saying something like, "Ikusa might have fit better in the Second Season, but that would mess up the timeline way too much." He also mentioned that if there's a new installment in the family season, it would most likely be a Monogatari that was originally teased as the sequel to ZokuOwari.

It's from the family season Ikusamonogatari.
I'm waiting for the official translated release so I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I got a rough picture of what's going on when it came out.

Yeah I know, I just meant that without prior knowledge, I could not tell her style from the episode itself. Of course, this is true for most episode directors since the main direction of the series is still the role of the director, so the episode director has limited creative input.
