We got pretty much a bloody slaughter this episode, and damn, one for the ages. I mean, I guess it was kinda built up for this moment so it makes sense.

Cid and Rose were the major focus here so I guess it kinda built off of the previous episode. The episode however did feel a litle rushed though, and I couldn't get as invested as last season's finale. Still very high stakes though.

We know things are bound to get super serious when they skip opening, and I mean how couldn’t that be, we literally had the epitome of “evil” Ragnarok, going full bonkers against Shadow from the very first second of this episode.

Liked how it didn’t even take the rest of the shadow garden making it to the scene, with Beta joining the fray too. Rose came into her senses too and was doing great… until she saw how just Epsilon and Beta alone managed to beat the life out of Mordred lol, to the point where he literally STARTED EXPLAINING THE ORIGINS OF BLACK ROSE AND EVERYTHING RELATED OUT OF HIS OWN FREE WILL lmaooooooooo.

Appreciate the much needed exposition from Mordred though, like how Black rose connects this world to the other world or how the demonic realms they call are responsible for the appearance of these monsters or how Rose was just a simple offering from the start. She’s a sad cause, but so is Mordred, I mean his Ragnarok was simply taken out, and when he tried to attack Shadow in a transformed form…

… man had no chance then too smh. “I’M ATOMIC” happened like ever, I mean Cid didn’t explicitly use “AM” this time but okay this was still epic. Though to be honest, whatever transpired thereafter was even MOREEEEE EPIC.

We got a callback to that very first episode with Nishino Akane again going through those same things(?) she did back then, but of course there’s a twist, it isn’t exactly what we saw back then, as that last minute disaster back in their own world, has transported Cid to the earth.

It's not Cid but SHADOW this time who'll save Akane. THEY PLAYED THE FIRST OPENING AS THE ENDING CREDITS, and that was a hype sendoff.

A season 3 is a matter of when and not if, if we’re being honest here. Just hope it comes within a couple of years lol.

Damn, the shadows looked so cool; they gave me goosebumps.

Following the activation of Ragnarok, Mordred, the 9th-ranking member of the cult, eliminates Doem for his mistake and engages in combat against the members of Shadow Garden. Meanwhile, Shadow confronts a Giant Bat from another dimension known as Hell, which may be the Demon King. Shadow successfully defeats it without sustaining any significant injuries, aside from a slightly singed hair, thereby saving Oriana.

Ragnarok wasted no time tearing through half the city—seriously, it's no joke. The first part of the episode was heavy on dialogue, and then bam, the second half was all action. Gotta admit, the bad guy is seriously ugly, but both our heroes are crazy strong. I mean, they go from Earth to space, like, what? And Shadow pulls his classic "I Am Atomic" move (without the am), but this time it's in space, with that glowing light and all. It's wild—he gets teleported to another world within the world. Double isekai, for real! And, surprise, we're back in Japan, bumping into Nishino again. But what's the deal with this girl always getting kidnapped? And of course, it's Shadow, not Cid, who saves her.

Cid's hit his HIGHEST and ended up back in Japan, where everything kicked off!

Should a third season be in the cards, I'll definitely be seated for it.

Rose vs. the 9th Seat of Rounds "Knight Beyond Men" Mordred with his Black Rose Archfiend Ragnarok, thwarted by Cid and Shadow Garden, the real battle's only just getting started.

Beta and Epsilon definitely have no trouble thwarting Mordred, as Rose tries to make sense of saving her own kingdom while entrusting Shadow Garden to help their citizens. For Cid, being the Eminence in Shadow against Ragnarok is too easy, and Mordred eventually let them in on what the Cult is up to: dimensions called Realms, with the magical beasts being in full supervision once the world clashed with one of the dimensions, as more and more Realms fill up the universe, except for the Demon Diablos. The fact with Rose's Oriana Kingdom having accidentally opened that alternate gate to the other Realm, Rose was made to be the royal sacrifice for that matter. Even to Shadow, Ragnarok is as simple as clay, which Mordred has one final desperation: to fuse together with Ragnarok.

Shadow vs. Mordred, it's like recycling the final boss aspect all over again, bringing the action into the sky with the former's usual Chuuni to release his "I'm Atomic" epic power, perceptly destroying planets. But while Shadow got away scot free, there's the teeny tiny black hole...that sent him back to modern day Japan...going back to Season 1's opening episode of Akane Nishino, replaying the same exact sequence of events again with her kidnapping, the only difference being that Shadow is here to save her instead of Cid.

You know you're gonna get the finale episode's reference to Season 1's OP song HIGHEST, especially for this climax.

What an awesome journey that this series has been for this past year since Fall 2022.

The finale was awesome!!! It was obvious how everything was going to turn out (Cid decimating everyone) but the way the show does what it does, is what makes the anime unique.

This was an incredible season!! So many arcs adapted(Yeah, I know just 3 arcs). Still, I had a blast watching this series (just Cid go about his everyday life playing NPC and protagonist).

Hopefully, we get a season 3 of this.

The 'Return to Earth' arc is just as good as any of the other arcs in this show!!! Can't wait to see it!!

Oh, this episode has the same name as the first OP.
2:25 人越の魔剣 (jin'etsu no maken), translated here as "Knight Beyond Men" literally means "person-surpassing magic sword" btw.

The Reamls added so much to the lore hoooly damn. This also presents the possibility that humans in our world came from another Realm too. This now explains how biologically identical humans can exist in many different Realms.
This "I'm atomic" was epic af too! I just wish Shadow didn't pronounce it so quickly. I want more of that ASMR voice goodness.
Unfortunately I got spoiled about Cid coming back to his world at the end of this season, but I didn't know anything about the timeskip, or magic being present, so this is still really interesting. If Akane is in her 20's now, does that mean that time flows at different speeds in different Realms?
This stuff is so damn exciting, I just can't

9/10
This was just as good as season one imo, but the ending was out of this world (no pun intended).
I need that season 3 announcement N O W

Btw at which point in the LN was the part that was adapted in the very first episode?

EDIT: There was a sequel movie announced LET'S GOOO
That means it's probably have even better animation!
But then also we'll have to wait a long time after the release to be able to watch it aarrgh

Holy shit Cid's back on earth, what happened to earth though? It merged with another realm? We got see Akane again and a re-enact of the scene from episode one again. What a way to end the season. I need the movie right now. Can't wait.

As expected Shadow obliterated the mech dragon thingy. Though wasn't expecting Beta and Epsilon to handle that knight guy, goes to show how strong they actually are. We even got more world building, that was really interesting. So like how planets orbits the sun the realms orbit something. Wonder what that is. Also we got one last I am atomic to end the season and the scale of it was bigger than ever, like he went to outer space to do it, holy.

Great season again, really enjoyed it and I'm hyped to see more. Specially after how it ended with Cid going back to earth. Wonder if Akane will learn the truth about Cid. Really looking forward to the movie.

I LOVE ROSE MORE AND MORE. She was the one i really like in WN, Manga and Anime...

Also, what i learned in this series is, the more chuuni you are, the more OP you become once you are isekai'd.

I will let my chuuni side take over me next year, maybe. !!!!

This show always knows how to outdo itself with the spectacles, and this finale was no exception! You cut up your giant monster with threads, take its summoner into space and then blow him up with a super space nuke. 10/10, I've never seen anything like this before in any other anime.

The ending was befitting of the eminence in shadow, it felt like a game where he just finished the boss and the story of that particular world, and he is now set on another journey in a world that he previously knew on a difficulty level of easy, and is now set in hard mode.

BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW FUCKING AWESOME THIS EPISODE WAS. WE'VE EVEN GOT OTHER UNIVERSES TOO? Bruhhhhhhhh, our boy Cid returned back and looks like what's coming up next is gonna fucking blow the world out of proportion. forgive me over dramatic nature but I'm just too stunned to think straight

the battle with Ragnarok was truly peak. Cid effortlessly overpowered it as well as the subordinate of Diablo. ha! that's my boy for you.

I wonder what's gonna happen next. will shadow garden try to locate Cid? or will Cid do something about the other universes converging? mannnnnn, I need me a sequel ASAP.
10/10 for me.

The ending was way different than the manga, where beta was supposed to be in japan with cid but the ending totally makes it way more sick and doesnt leave it in a cliffhanger. Although i partially wished it left on cid and beta being in japan instead of the nostalgia hit but it's also good but i hope it doesnt change much or deviate much from the manga. This might be the hugest change/deviation from the manga in the anime so far as the battle between gettan and john smith did deviate alot from the manga but a whole arc being different goddamn.

Bro, I don't even know what to say. This season finale was an epic conclusion. The fight with Ragnarok was more awesome that I imagined and Cid wasn't even taking the fight serious. Ha! That's Lord Shadow for you. That "I Am Atomic" he gave to Mordred is the best feat I have ever seen. This episode literally blew my socks off.

Cid got isekaid again? Dude, I did not see that coming. And Miss Nishino has become a savior to a now post apocalyptic kinda Earth. Hmmmm, things be cooking behind the scenes. And our boy Shadow made a fuckin' cool comeback in his original world, Earth and his original country, Japan.

10/10 for me. This surpassed my expectations. I'm gonna spread the hype for the movie everywhere and anywhere. Ha!
