Lmao, Kazuki looked like he had way too much fun this episode. Same with Miri.

Unfortunately, this episode is not all fun and games and mood quickly went South in the rain. Honestly, dealing with the past is not easy at all and with Kazuki's life getting more busy, it just gets harder. On the other hand, I like how they managed to balance out the mood of this episode.

I enjoyed this episode! I felt bad for Kanzuki😢 So glad Rei stepped up for Miri when needed. I wish he help out sooner so it didn't have to come to this. There was too much pressure on Kanzuki Papa💔

It's all day fun for Miri, but for Kazuki, raises his horrid past, which has been 5 years of indifference and changing.

Family life resumes in the house, and Kazuki is resigned to family duties since Rei is always out of his element being the NEET he usually is. But Kazuki, especially being very perplexed with taking care of both Rei and Miri, and he loses his steam over what it means to be happy.

With Kazuki gone, Rei is on his own and forced to take care of Miri, and if not for Kazuki making mental notes, Rei would've been confused on how to deal with the kid herself. Kazuki running off to Kyutaro's cafe to blow off some steam, and the money sent to his only sister-in-law Karin that was rejected back to him, he's temporarily living a life of his own, enjoying how he used to be with his old habits intact. Exploring Kazuki's past where his line of job caused Karin's older sister Yuzuho to be KIA on scene, it's a scene that he regretted living over and over again, even after visiting her grave. The marriage between both that was supposed to happen (with the opening scene of Episode 1), it all went to naught living with regrets.

To make matters worse, the rain caused Miri to become sick. and Rei races to Kyutaro for help. Kari reassuring Kazuki to live a life of his own and moving on from Yuzuho, that is actually for the best. And while both Rei and Miri definitely learned their lesson in treating Kazuki right, he is back to normal once again, along with a new umbrella for Miri.

What an episode, certainly tugging at the heartstrings.

Kazuki suffering through the struggles of a housewife 😂 It's really irritating when picky eaters won't eat the food you cooked after a stressful day.

I also would've gone wild on my day off. What could go wrong? I mean, Rei is there. If you think fries count as veggies you're obviously responsible aflet's ignore that Miri got sick and it was too much for him to handle

Sad past seems obligatory for the assassin business. Damn horrible to lose your pregnant wife, there's almost nothing worse. And knowing more about Kazuki's past makes you look at him taking care of Miri in a different light. Like their child would've been around her age by now.

This one played my heartstrings like a late-era Beethoven string quartet - fucking dramatic masterpiece for 24 minutes.

The use of the flowers (I can't remember their name, but they grow around me) was a particularly effective mechanism/device for evoking memories.

Man, when that truck exploded, I could just feel time stand still and my heart ripping out of my body. Damn. I would have gobbled that French toast at the end.

That OP continues to be one of the best this season.

A much better episode than the last few, and it's really coincidental that while I was watching, and in the scene the sun came up in the show, I looked out my window, and the rain stopped and the sun came out at the same time. Kazuki's past was tough for sure, and it's hard not to feel responsible for a tragedy like that, but it's good that Karin stayed positive, and that helped Kazuki get out of the darkness and focus on what he can do now, rather than dwell on the past. Great that Rei stepped up when necessary as well.

Kazuki's PTSD got concluded real fast. Thought we'll go more deep into the drama given the kind of cliffhanger last episode ended upon. Though good in its own way I guess.

The moment Rei checked the calendar and found it was Sunday.. that literally got me rolling. Like be a bit less oblivious dude.

This show is just too beautiful, I love the way it handles serious themes and sad parts, instead of just drama these moments are so quiet and lonely.

Kazuki was more like a single father with two children.

Poor Kazuki went off the rails and knowing his back story, I can't blame him for struggling to move on from what happened, so seeing him trying to cheer himself up by gambling, getting drunk and taking on an unwinnable fight was sad to see. Karin found him shortly afterwards and her attempts to get through to him didn't work out, where we were shown a flashback of a mission that Kazuki was part in, which certain actions led to an explosion, where Kazuki's love interest at the time, Yuzuho, who was Karin's older sister, was there at the worst possible time and got caught in the explosion, dying in the process. =(

This led to a visit to the cemetery where Yuzuho's grave resides. Kazuki still looked sad and was reflecting on things again in the shelter before Karin appeared again. This time, her upbeat and inspirational words got through to him, which was perfectly timed with the sun breaking through the rainy clouds, giving Kazuki a much needed happier look of life.

While he was away, Rei struggled to look after Miri and do any house chores at all. I laughed a bit when he took her to the daycare, thinking she would be hours late, only to find out that they went to it on a Sunday when it's closed. XD

However, I did feel for him when he struggled to help Miri when she came down with a fever, with him taking her to Kyutaro for help. He's got a lot to learn still, but he made some good progress in that area, so here's hoping he can look after Miri better in the future.

This was a great episode overall. It had its dark themes for Kazuki's backstory, but it ended on a brighter outlook.

Karin is beautiful <3

We finally know Kazuki's past, the only good plot this anime had. Now I hope we get something good because that was the only thing that kept me interested in this, since I'm sick of Miri and Rei, she is next-leven annoying, and he is so fkng dumb it's not even funny.

PD: I skip it every time, but I swear to God the opening song gives ear cancer.

I really don't know how they manage to pull off both heavy angst and domestic SOL so effortlessly without anything feeling out of place. Not to mention fitting a whole bunch of character development in just one episode while keeping the pace steady. What an emotional rollercoaster, felt like my heart was about to shrivel up the whole time but the conclusion made up for it. I love this show a lot.

This episode again was so so gooood!!

Kazuki really enjoyed himself this episode lol, well at at start I guess. Having to pretty much take care of 2 kids both being picky eaters. Kazuki kinda loses it when he thinks about what happiness is. Leaving Rei and Miri on their own for most of the episode.

Rei looking after Miri went as well as you would expect it too. Luckily Kazuki left a bunch of reminders around to help him. But the real trouble was when Miri got sick because of the rain and Rei had to go to Kyuu for help.

Dealing with the past is never an easy thing to do. Kazuki is no exception to this. For the past 5 years he has been living with regret about what happened to Yuzuho, feeling responsible for her death and the death of their unborn baby. Karin (Yuzuho's younger sister) finds him and wants to have a chat with him but still feeling guilty kinda just throws her off and leaves her. But that talk at the Gazebo where Yuzuho and him first met was much needed for him. Karin really helped him with saying whats happened has happened, "memories aren't a prison" - Karin. With news that Karin made it into a fashion school in France after finally passing their exam. She tells Kazuki "Why not live your own life, too" "That would make her way more happy than anything else you could do". When talking about Miri, she says "Well, I know you can make her happy, too!"  Which gave him that little push he needed to keep going.

At the end all is well with Kazuki no longer living with the same regret he had for the past 5 years and Miri getting her new umbrella.

A tearjerker of an episode is not what I expected but it was done so well. Next week awaits!!

I expected Kari to be a kind of villain and blame Kazuki for her sister Yuzuho's death. I'm glad I was wrong and she is helping Kazuki moving on!

Also, Rei and Miri realized they need and should be grateful to mama Kazuki :D

Another Great episode! This is the best new series for this season in my opinion

The umbrella got isekai'd, lol. I thought Rei was able to handle the house without Kazuki at least one day, he proved me wrong. When Kazuki was wondering what to do I thought " he's going to the pachinko, isn't he?" and well, he's a good at gambling. But the big reveal, the loss of her wife indirectly because of him and how this was tormenting him because...

Episode got me crying like a baby man. I really wish Kazuki could’ve had a happy ending with his girl. I always feel so empty after episodes like this because it’s like you see this couple who were so happy together and then one person is just suddenly gone.

Can never talk again, can’t say I love you, can never really get the closure you want. Losing not just his fiancé but his child too, fuck man.

Her little sister encouraging Kazuki to live his life is the best ending we could get honestly

I mean it has been 5 years and his new lifestyle has been in some ways helping heal and move on....but yeah if it follows anime logic, it's over he's cured and will never mourn his wife again.

However buddy daddies has been doing a good job at realistic portrayals so I am hoping that in future episodes we will still see flashes of sadness or at least a bittersweet feeling from him when something triggers memories of her. I do like that it put him in the mindset of I don't have to be stuck in one place to honor her memory, but the fact that it took one day and one conversation felt a bit rushed when we only saw pieces of the journey. Because there was definitely a journey to getting to that point where he could hear and accept those words after spending so long ignoring it.

Kazuki has absolutely no right to complain about Rei not taking care of Miri, taking in Miri was his decision, he should not pushed on the responsibilities on someone else even though he didn't even allow Rei to take in an abandoned cat, what a bastard!

Also stupid backstory about his wife, how did she magically just appear there at exactly that time. And wasn't she pregnant with a huge stomach earlier, she didn't look pregnant at the time of the accident, what happened to the child?

One o fthe weaker episodes. (I think the only other one that felt a bit weaker was episode 2. Strongest episode 4 I think - where Kazuki recognized that the other kids ignored Miri. Sensitive topic where kids already can start to develop mental issues.)

Problem here: The episode did not have any super funny stuff. The thing with Rei being useless ... nothing new/special. This also took away time needed for the major stuff. Where they also took a bit long ... sending Kazuki to gamble a bit first.

That whole story that was suppoed to be emotional ... felt like they did it in a way too fast - could not have cared less lol. (The background stoy with Rei and his father was better here actually.)
So this was the episode with the lowest emotional involvment for me where the writers/directoers probably thouight  "wife + kid got killed you are supposed to cry but we don't want to put any effort in making you cry ... just cry please". (Where on the other hand episode 4 was so great.)

Might have worked better as a 2-episode story or if they had cut the gambling and the switching in between to Rei+Miri - focusing on actually trying to make the viewer care about Kazuki's wife ... trying to introduce her a bit. Sharing some happy moments. Slowly.

Drama part was executed very poorly IMO. Whole Yuzu past was explained too quickly, and I couldn't help but roll eyes with how things unfolded. Assassination target escaped by a car that happened to hit a freaking oil-tanker of all things, and the "future wife" just happened to be the only person nearby as it exploded! In addition, she also happened to be on late stages of pregnancy, making the scene darker. Too lazy writing for my taste. Is this some Korean soap opera? Drama felt so forced I couldn't even feel bad for her or him.

Miri needs some serious disciplining too! Her being cute isn't a reason not to teach her basic manners, like why you shouldn't throw wet clothes on the floor!!! Rei is useless for sure but is Kazuki also oblivious to basic parenting? FFS It's like those two are "afraid" to even talk to Miri or something. I'm not talking about scolding or shouting in anger, simply say "don't do this, because...", how else will Miri ever learn what's appropriate and what's not???

Ok episode overall, but lack of originality leaves an impression the show was half-assed or the creators weren't motivated enough.

If you don't like it, don't watch it ?

Also, we've only got a few pieces of the "death" scene : we don't know if Kazuki was working with or against that other assassin, we don't know why Yuzu was around when it happened (maybe he told her to meet her somewhere around so that when he's done with the task at hand, he could meet her straight after.. or maybe he just ran into the target while going to meet Yuzu and decided to deal with him directly.. or even maybe that other assassin was there for her and not Kazuki's target, but used the car and the oil tanker to do the work ?).

In any case, the story unfolds bit by bit, so maybe try to be more "open" and keep the judging part for when the show's over ?

We went from all fun and whatnot to depressing episode, and it was all focused on Kazuki who apparently killed someone's sister.

Miri was being an annoyance and Kazuki had enough of it and just left the house, leaving Rei & Miri behind. Miri even got sick at one point and Rei brought her to the one place he had in mind because he couldn't find the hospital.

The scene with Kazuki & the woman was nice though.

I don't need you telling me what to watch and what to drop, bud.

You must be having high hopes for this show to assume it will ever return to the "death scene" and explain it in detail. I don't see a reason why a comedy show would do this, considering it's a comedy and not drama. Also the whole "why Kazuki feels sad?" topic seems to be resolved already! I'd say the topic is closed and the show will never focus on it again. I doubt even Rei's backstory will be explained later - though this, at least, seems more plausible.

I also did say the episode was OK, there's no hate here. I'm writing about my impressions of this particular episode. I'll judge each episode and then the entire show - no scores yet. Don't know why I can't do both.

Seems Kazuki's dead wife won't be a major plot point going forward. Feels mostly tied up here but hopefully it's still brought up during the series every now and then since you don't just fully get over something like that in one night. Anyway don't blame Kazuki for leaving in the morning but he was definitely away for too long. Course a bunch of stuff was overlapping with his deads wifes aniversary.
