Some say a show is only as good as its ending, whether that is true or not who knows, but there is no denying a bad ending can leave a stain on a show's reputation,

I personally liked the ending of TPN(manga) screw the anime travesty
Fairy Tail and Soul eater are probably my least favorite

The promise Neverland I mean the whole anime was just rushed and the ending were just some slideshow, which were obviously for the movie which they are obviously now never gonna get.

Out of those in the poll that I've seen to completion, Naruto with its last arc completely going against the core message of the series, several decisions ruining Naruto's character and the Kaguya plot line ultimately amounting to nothing with too little build up to justify it.

For any Japanese anime in general though, it'd be Elfen Lied. Easily the most rushed finale to an anime I've seen that does a poor attempt at sequel-baiting despite how off the rails it went from the manga's plot.

Bad: Promised Neverland, Oreimo, Wonder Egg Priority
Least favorite: Wonder Egg Priority
Bad but final scene was good: Death Note, Charlotte
Shouldn't be on this list: Erased, Neon Genesis Evangelion
Not (completely) watched: the ones I didn't mention

Future Diary because that show is by far the worst show ever created. Everything about it was trash, from the beginning to the ending. It was pure trash and nothing on this poll even comes close to how bad that garbage was

Oreimo. That guy had so many better options. The fact Kirino's both a total bitch and his sister makes it just so much worse. Saori, Manami and Kuroneko all treated him well and were all pretty cute.

They should've stuck with just bonding platonically.
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

It's a tie between AOT and Erased.

Wonder Egg Priority tanked even before it reached the ending.

Not on the list, but Babylon ending was disappointing.
Throughout the course of the series we were asking so many question, but ending not only didn't answered any of them, but left even more unanswered.

I read the manga and the anime just didn't execute it well, deleted scenes which made the ending underwhelming, cause the ending in the manga was good, the anime went all original for it.
So you just didn't like it because it wasn't the same as in the manga? Not sure how that makes the anime ending bad, but okay I guess.

Oreimo has the biggest trash ending of the bunch because the mc did not stick with his choice in the anime unlike the source material. I guess the anime directors were not proud of the non blood related siblings getting together. This is why I say drop Oreimo s2 around ep 9 since it is very enjoyable otherwise.

For some great Oreimo endings, definitely play Oreimo Portable english patched on psp. Seriously amazing game, and you can chose which girl the mc gets with.

Not really, the ending had a bigger impact in the manga so i was expecting the same in the anime it now ended up disappointing and underwhelming cause I had high expectations, I guess if ur an anime only you won't feel it cause u have nothing to compare it to.

Definitely WEP, this show got a strong premise by dealing with heavy topics like suicide, sexual harrassment, depression, plus the unique style of art and many symbolisms.
Ngl, I had such a high expectation of it to be a successor of Madoka Magica but towards the end it steadily became such a mess, a lot of questions and problems didn't get satisfactorily resolved.

What I said still applies though, just because the manga ending was better doesn't mean the anime ending was bad.

That's just a false internet theory.

And Naruto the anime ended with sasuke being defeated, or the marriage, both of which were good.

If you think Naruto was about hardwork or something, that's something the fans made up. The series is about not giving up against the odds, has nothing to do with hardwork, and never even made the proclamations that "hardwork beats talent". Again, made up by the fans. Just throwing it out there.

Now, with the reincarnation - The reincarnation only stated that one of the reincarnation will always die by the other - Naruto saves Sasuke, and doesn't get himself killed either - literally breaking destiny.

The reincarantion is only about the character being chosen- none of the powers or anything transfer. It's just a placeholder. Kaguya was an rare exception, and that was the only reason why the sage even gave them powers. Otherwise just the killing brothers bit would follow.

The child of prophecy is also not chosen. Everything about fate or destiny in Naruto including Neji's end is all emphasised and made through choices.

95% of the plot problems of Naruto on the internet are false. And the actual problems are mostly never brought up.

My least favorite, shit-: aot

Slightly below average-: deathnote, it wasn't trash like aot but the last 12 eps were full of ass pulls and were poorly written. But Atleast the Characters weren't ruined and MC's finale was good unlike aot.

Rushed, below average-: food wars

From the ones I have watched/read I think they all have pros and cons to their ending. But if I truly had to pick an ending that just didn't satisfy me and they I still don't know if I liked it would be Attack on Titan. The ending is now where near as bad as some fans make it out to be but it's far from flawless. Plus it was also the story I was invested in the most out of these so that's another reason I'm picking aot.

I got two answer came up right away after i read the thread title, and those are Future Diary and Deadman Wonderland.
I'd say I'm more dissapointed with how Future Diary ends, cause with what everything that happened, we got a rushed and hard to understand ending. That OVA just makes it worse tbh.
Deadman Wonderland on the other hand, is just a straight up incomplete mess of a story.

The anime ending, or do you include the OVA?
Because the anime ending was nigh perfect, and then the OVA basically just undid everything good about it.

Plus Naruto had Kaguya, so it probably would have lost no matter what lol

You are right that is a major theme but I will also like to add probably the biggest theme of the franchise that is, "can people truly understand each other." Which is consistent throughout the entire series, but I appreciate you telling that guy what's up cause he clearly has the series misunderstood if he thinks it broke its own themes.

OK but what if the ending contradicts the rest of the story and you can't ignore the ending due to the foreshadowing.
