| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Definitely wasn't expecting a recap at the end, but good, Toei needs to buy as much time as they can and the flashback was long enough. Again, one of my top favorites to date that featured legends and of major importance. Seeing that army at the end got me in the proper mood for the raid. There will be so much cool stuff and many hype moments. |

| So i guess I was right, this episode basically got all the way up to the point where we are back at the present but it was literally the last 10 seconds of the episode lol. So sorry for the folks have been waiting to get back to the scabbards and luffy in the present time line, i guess that is next week. |

| This episode pacing was better than Dressrosa Arc, Zou Arc & Wano Arc all combined. Jk Really good set up episode before the raid starts. I have a feeling we're going to get a filler arc before the raid officially starts. Manga readers would know why. |

| It's honestly sad to see the oden flashback go away but it'll be nice watching the present day story again. Farewell to one of the greatest flashbacks I really liked how they handled and adapted the denjiro and kyoshiro reveal and it's gonna be a treat next time we see him lol. I also loved how they did the certain mystery traitor flashback with the black visuals and it looked super nice. Recap at the end wasn't bad 5/5 |

| Seems like Toei has dealt with everything in this episode, from a recap to everything leading up to the Onigashima Raid to the aftermath of Oden and Toki's death. It was required to remind us how long this raid had been building up, so I don't mind it much. The new visuals in the opening seem interesting too showing new characters for the raid. Was good to see Luffy in present day after such a long time. I wonder who the traitor could be tho, hiding so much in plain sight, but its finally clear where Denjiro was all this time! All the pieces have been set up, now its time for the payoff! |

I'm curious to see who the traitor is, I kinda suspect Kanjuro to be Orochi's dirty little spy because his kabuki appearance fits the theatre background and he has devil fruit powers. |

I think you are right and kanjuro is the only one with a devil fruit of the 9 retainers of oden (akazaya nine) |

| We're finally back to the present day. How many months has it been since the flashback started? It's been too long. Also noticed they changed some things in the OP, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next as the story moves forward |

| The opening is just making me more hyped for the next episode Vindicater said: When Kin'emon, Kajuro and Momonosuke came out of hiding on Zou, Dogstorm started crying which could indicate that they knew eachother, but I think they didn't say anything because the straw hats were with them, after all Kin'emon only revealed who they really were to the straw hats a little later in Zou, so maybe that's whyFreshIngredient said: The recap towards the end of the episode reminded me that One Piece is truly a grand story. | This episode, in general, was amazing. I could really feel the emotions from Denjiro meeting up with Hiyori who he thought was missing. Not to mention, Kyoshiro bowing his head to Orochi but he was completely mad at the s**tface Shogun the entire time. That recap at the end felt good to watch, and it's also canon. The Akazaya Nine have come a loooong long way to recruit comrades who will aid them in fighting Kaido. I really love the long-term storytelling of One Piece. Kinemon and Momonosuke have been in the story since the Punk Hazard arc but all their adventure culminates in the Wano arc, and we've witnessed them being part of the anime for many years. Toei really did a good job of hiding the undercover spy in the preview. One of the Scabbards is actually working for Orochi this whole damn time, and from how the story's been told, it looks like the spy has been figured out. Hoho! Those subtle new changes in the opening. Those new characters who have been added in it. I just love these surprises! Can't wait to hear their voices in the anime, although we'll be waiting for weeks before they properly make their debut in anime form! |

| Pretty good episode, and honestly I'm only here to orgasm about the new opening. Probably bad hopes to have, but I hope the pacing will pick up even a tiny bit for the next few episodes. I don't mind if a good chunk of the raid still does the "10-12 pages" an episodes thing. It's probably too much to want Chapter 1000 be adapted for Episode 1000, too... |

| The new visual of the opening is CRAZY, just like the episode which is AMAZING with these revelations! Plus, that concludes the best flashback in One Piece! |

| Amazing episode. Beginning with the new visuals we could see in the OP even if I have no clue who these characters are, especially that younger woman with the white hair and the yellow eyes caught my interest. So Kyoshiro really was Denjiro all along. Even if I expected that what a change, damn. Unexpected was definitely the fact that he was also Ushimitsu Kozo. But after seeing him giving so much gold to Orochi it kinda makes sense. Such a nice moment when he and Hiyori reunited. At the same time I think nobody can imagine how hard it must have been for both to serve under Orochi over such a long time and also not being able to tell anyone about their true identity. And now we're finally at the point where everything slowly comes together. Not sure if it's spoiler, but I'm excited and hyped to see how things will turn out. |

| Damn, the stage is finally set for the raid now! Brilliant recap there, by the way. I honestly forgot most of it. Again, when you think about it, it's incredible how many years of planning ahead Oda-sensei has done. Kyoshiro's past revealed too, I'd a feeling he was a follower of the Kozuki clan but certainly not a direct retainer. But that spy of the curent shogun's... |
