THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Quite worth the wait in my opinion. Seriously. Wow, what a movie. It's a shame that Yamato didn't get much screen time, and they didn't delve into the history behind Yamato (or her looks, should I say) and Gunzou's past despite emphasizing that Gunzou was ranked a conspicuous 2nd place for his entire life when Takao was checking his record. But I guess the anime was never set up to accommodate this twist. Still, I would have really liked for Gunzou to meet Yamato and personally see his reaction. I was waiting for Yamato to finally appear at the end given that it was really her only time to shine in this entire series, but it turned out to be Iona to fit the flow of the story. ehhhh As for the naval warfare: CHOMP CHOMP GUESS WHO'S BACK? A fitting conclusion for an excellent series. |

I have a question, after the credit scene, is Iona live or just Gunzo see the spirit of Iona? overall, it was a good movie though. |

10 minutes in and I know I'll need a couple of long breaks during this movie. It opens with a random fight we don't know anything about and so can't give a damn, just to slap an environmentalism message right after that. How original... |

Not bad for an original ending, but i think the manga is still superior. The tv serie start to diverge from epsiode 8 and the movies pratically endend it, guess the animation studio was sick to wait the manga since the author is pretty slow. :D |

That was great. I laughed too hard. Near stabbed myself in the thigh with my pen as a result! I absolutely loved the way it played out, though I would've liked to see more Yamato. I got my Nachi fill, which was great. Plus wild Ashigara demonstrating why you never 'blow the tanks' and break the roof without clearing overhead. Poor Nachi.... Takao visiting the academy gave some light I wasn't previously aware off. Also, drooling over Gunzou's record.... Silly Takao. I did like the idea of a 'normal' I-401 sneaking through with the current, and not getting blown up right away as soon as the shooting started. That was cool to me. Also, the melee between Takao and Ashigara. I thought "If they ever make this into a game of sorts, like say, I dunno, a cross between WoWS and Tekken. Just how ridiculous Ashigara would be to go against! Game thing aside... Go Team Makie! Though, again, I'd like to have seen Hyuuga raise her wreck. Though, they did an awesome job as it is. Yeah, I'm a bit al over the place, but the need for tissues had me a bit off. Gonna rewatch this very soon. Mostly for the Nachi. Damn, was half hoping Repulse and Vampire would get a maybe cameo.... OVA? -don't get sidetracked there- |

While not unentertaining, I feel like this movie was extraordinarily 'by the books' in terms of plot progression. Just felt like it was following a formula from start to finish going through a check list. And quite frankly, this is not at all what I was expecting the fleet of fog to come to with all of the mystery about their origin and purpose in the series. The payoff didn't feel like it was worthy of what I'd come to expect and even a little contrived to be honest. 'to maintain ecological balance'? Seriously? I just don't buy that. Manga, here I come. |

I watched this in theaters in Malaysia yesterday and was quite impressed. This movie was great as a sequel and is a remarkable improvement over the first one. It was a lot of fun, and I didn't feel bored from the 105-minute running time. I did not realize that this would be an original ending different from the manga, but it still provided good closure for someone who hasn't read the manga. Trident's "Blue Destiny" was worth sitting through the credits, which rewarded those who stayed behind with a small epilogue. |

Just my personal speculations, correct me if I'm wrong. Iona has dual core as Mushashi explained (I-401's core and Yamato's core). Yamato was destroyed lets say Yamato's core was also destroyed but her core wasn't which may be the reason why she can still have her appearance (old mental model I guess???) in the last seconds of the movie. |

I know that they can't exactly make the true reason why the ships existed because of the manga but... that is one half assed way of an original route. Also lacking ships. Need more Aircraft Carriers and Non-Japanese Navy ships. But it's a normal and average original route and doesn't dare to try outrageous plot twists and ideas so... I can't exactly complain.... 7/10 because Kongou's design is WOW and nice animation on the action as usual + Nano's perfect singing in English. Oh and the whole Musashi, Yamato heaven ex machina and Iona presumably heavily implied to be, well, gone. Forever. And was done in a good way too. Ending confuses me though. Didn't Takao found out his mother is still alive back when she's visiting the school? I wonder if they can remake the series when the manga ended... say in 5-7 years or so down the line... Urgh, I actually forgot about the manga's story because of this. Time to re-read it I suppose. |

Finally finished it despite having planned to watch it for a week now. I liked it a lot and especially the parts with Kongo cause of...you know cause shes a boss. Personally it was nice to see that none of the regular ships had to die in the movie since I personally couldn't see anyone in the fog as a ''bad guy''. 8/10 |

Damn, Yamato was a babe. Unfortunate that she had to go down. Of course, she would be #2 to Takao had I added her to my harem. Takao in that uniform + glasses = fapfapfapfapfap Actually, every Takao scene was fap worthy. DAT GIGA DRILLU BURAKU! Just so you guys know, Gunzou said "Welcome home" to Takao. :) |

I have been waiting 2 years for this move to come out..and it was so freakin worth the wait :D. This an overall good conclusion for the entire series. By far the best navy based anime series to have ever come out. i just loved it all the way. you can tell they put there heart and souls into making this movie. the action scenes alone are god like...i mean really the entire second half was one big naval warfare...it was truly amazing to watch it. It took me so long to finally give it a watch cause i so wanted it to never end. now i am a bit sad. This is such an underrated series, i wish more people would know of it. the animation in this one really improved that there were times you can not even tell it was CGI. Sanzigen you did a good job. well there is still the manga seris and maybe one day when the manga series is closer to be finished, they might do another remake, this time based on the manga storyline. this series warped everything up nicely but there were still a few plot holes..mostly cause those plot holes dont have a clear explanation yet in the manga,,, such as who made the fleet of fog and what the admiralty code really is and since the manga is still ongoing they cant do tat explanation into the movie. Either way a sold 9.5/10 . i just wish more people would know if it. :D |

Either way a sold 9.5/10 . i just wish more people would know if it. :D many opinions for this the end. what do you think? my friend. reply me,soon ok? Haha..well i would agree with that..which is why i gave it a 9.5 instead of 10,,,but i think we can all agree that majority would think it was Iona who came back...at least that what the studio wanted to apply at l. It is up to you to decide. but since it is left to open interpretation im going with Iona. :D Yes it is and yes indeed it comes out once a month. Crunchy roll has the rigths for arpeggio manga and they release a new chapter as soon it comes out. manga fox takes about a day to a week to updare after it is released. |

A truly beautiful ending. The music really fits with the climax scene. Insert song and ED is really good. About the ending, though... I imagine it would be really lame if they showed Iona again right after they just declared her as "graduated" a few minutes ago... Well, honestly. What other choices do the producers have? |

THEY WERE MANY THING HAPPENING IN THIS MOVIE!!! but first, i'm gonna bet that this movie, the adaptation was not following the manga ? but either way, from the series until this movie, it was freaking awsome. one of my fav anime right now, especially because of this movie. What i like the most from this movie is Kougo. she suddenly appeared like that, really really made me crazy AF!!! XD XD didn't see that coming and LOL ? she bit Hiei ? XD XD now that is awsome, what's more amazing is the battle between Yamato and Musashi. and one more thing, i didn't expect Yamato would be in this show LOL XD Yamato is my fav battleship btw XD (i think battleship become one of ma fav genre) imo, the direction really did well with the original ending. i think it was executed well, with the soundtrack and plot twist (glad Nano song was in this movie. perfect english as always). and DAMN! the action looked so amazing especially the last battle and MAN! Yamato's ship design is so cool!!! overall, no need to ask again, obvious i really like this movie, i enjoy it and i love it. well, i thought it would be a problem if this series didn't follow the manga but this original ending was better than i had expected, well it's sad that the ending song was not from Nano but that song was nice that i had expected too XD i was planning to give this 10 but i give it 9/10. specifically 9.5/10, why ? well, maybe this sounds really stupid but the reason is because of the ending song...not like i hate or dislike it, i like the song so much but........the feeling that the show was giving in the ending credits with the song was a little bit different from the previous movie. and that after credit scene....i think that was iona. no! i must be!!! XD thanks for the show Sanzigen XD |
