| Maybe the people that hate fan-service have lost the hormones that desire fan service and its more of a psychological threat to their attention span for the anime since hating fan-service in anime will probably make them less likely to enjoy and want to watch it and more likely to spread the dissatisfaction they have with fan service. I particularly enjoy fan service as long as they don't use it in serious situations as you stated above. |

| The only kind of fanservice I consider good is when I see a manga that I like being adapted into an anime. Nothing else is really a service to me as a fan. So when I see some scantly dressed bimbo in my anime showing off her pantsu and her oppai, I don't consider it a service to me. I consider it a technique to arouse a loser over in Japan. Unfortunately, I am not some Japanese otaku with a fetish for animated tits and ass, but a Canadian nerd who enjoys a variety of forms of storytelling, including anime and manga. I don't need an asshole over in Japan telling me that his cheap form of entertainment is a service to me. Do I particularly hate it? No. Do I dislike it? Depends on the series and how its done in the context of that show. |

| I just don't like how a lot of creators seem to think that the only way a show will gain views/sell is if there is fanservice in it. I keep seeing decent shows sloppily throw in a fanservice episode or sloppy fanservice in general. To me, feeling that your work/story/idea needs to be of service to the fans in order to be successful/survive is awful instead of just focusing on telling a compelling story. This isn't actually the case though, and shows can thrive without fanservice; creators are just selling themselves short or aren't confident enough in their work to not have fanservice I suppose-- or they know that fanservice sells. Also, I go big or go home. Why must I sit through little teasing bits of things when I can just watch hentai? :U |

Extra bloody gory scenes for no reason, ugly pink haired loli waifu bait, or a random symbolism in a psychological anime that may not fit the premise. As far as fanservice having to do with the Character's appearence, it is only bad when that is all they have to rely on. If the anime is good, and there's a nude scene or sex scene, it's not a huge deal. there is nothing wrong with muscles and boobs I welcome both . |
