| Depends, in terms of actual TV ratings and manga sales then One Piece is a no brainer. But Evangelion is more popular in the otaku department, majority of people buying OP manga are kids and normies lol. I don't even think One Piece releases Blu-ray discs, they know people don't buy it. They just make DVD releases because no hardcore collectors follow it at the same level. |

I can't find specific sources, but I know it was not considered high ratings, but as it aired during a heavily watched time slot it gained many viewers as a result. Most of the popularity came from the controversial ending later on. |

| One Piece is everywhere.....but as soon as you get off the plane at Haneda Airport, Rei Ayanami greets you in a kimono on a giant poster. Not Luffy or Nami. :'D I think EVA is going to forever be engraved into Japan's history. It's basically on the same level as Pokemon and Dragon Ball. Especially with the adult crowd. There are pachinko parlors with giant statues of Rei and Asuka. No kids are allowed in there. ................good grief, I can't stand it anymore; AllenVonStein, THE ANIME IS AMAGI BRILLIANT PARK.
