Would you rather have a real lover or an AI with a personality you control?
| I was looking at the comments on Sankaku complex about otakus who think mariage between people and anime characters is okay.., A guy married fate from the nanoha series (NanoFate is not cannon, fate now belongs to this korean guy) and some other guy married Homuru from Modako Magica (what's the deal with marrying implied lesbians?) and a man married Nene from love plus... a game which has literally caused divorces. Someone commented all about how 3d women are trash, and how all women are selfish, rotten, greedy, ugly, stupid, childish, and all that other stuff. He said that when we have the technology to either A. Put our minds in computors or B. Put an AI in a realistic android, then women would be worthless. He went on about how women would all turn fat and go les because no man would want them any more. However, he said that anime girls are different. They're all sweet, kind, and beautiful, and perfect. 1000x better than real women Well... it's clear what he has against women... They're not angels. The kind of docile angellic girl he wants is gone... you're not gonna find that unless you lived during Edo japan. Women are liberated now, so they act like people. Women aren't perfect, and no woman or man, is gonna meet the standards of cuteness and grace that an animated character can... because anime isn't real. However, suppose you could build an AI android or travel to another world with a VR helmet.... an fine tune a personality for your lover and have your perfect ideal lover... would you pick that over a real person? I would becuase I'm a perv, but if I were really into loving someone, I'm not sure. In the end, it would be fake |

| LOL, I would never be able to 'love' something that I've programmed and can control. What kind of salty and sad person would prefer that over a relationship with a real person? I can sorta understand it if you only want something to fuck, but if this was about romantic relationships then I just think that it's ridiculous on so many levels. |

| Hmm this can actually go pretty deep into the human condition. Esentially what you'd be marrying would be an ideal, your dream woman, you would spend your life with that supposedly unattainable perfection. And thus it will be fake, it'll feel otherworldy, because we all knwow nothing is perfect, a shallow life. That stems from nothing but our fear of solitude and never finding "the one". A never ending dream. |

| I believe in the reality that's in my head. If an AI can work just as convincingly as real life, I would choose AI. At that point the "fakeness" of AI would be just conceptual and would have no ties to the reality I perceive, so it would be meaningless to me. Assuming I was single when making the choice. |

| I love dating women and being in relationships with them. I've never had any problems with them (unless they were married). But I've gotta admit that the idea of being with an AI is a lot easier. You wouldn't have to worry about her being jealous or wanting too much attention. |
