| a posible way to prove this is to design an experiment when you contrast the IQ of anime watchers, with people that does not watch anime. Or you could contrast the IQ with the amount of anime that people watch and see if theres any correlation between them. My hypothesis is: definitely not... but will be a nice social experiment |

| ignoring the obvious irony in the original post... the only correlation I can think of is that a stereotype of anime watchers is that they are not very sociable and are usually introverted. introverted people tend to be more pensive and spend more time with mental activities as opposed to physical activities - which would usually be connected with a higher IQ. But in no way does anime itself make you smarter |

| Most people I know who watched anime in highschool including me went on to study science, economics, business and law, medicine, psychology, computer science and network engineering. From online experience the MAL community is stupid compared to www.physicsforums.com & http://www.thescienceforum.com/ for example. Although there's more high IQ's here than in gaming and drug forums. In conclusion based on my own subjective experience, the median IQ is above average for anime watchers with the important distinction from cartoons. |

| Yes people who watches anime has initially high IQ, however by watching anime too often one's intelligence would be hampered, resulting in reduced IQ points. By the end of the day people who watched too much anime would ended up lower than average points of population. An overextended exposure to the medium would result in increased chance of developing mental sickness called weaboonitis (weaboo-inflammation) that would caused victim to develop a strong allergy against their own cultures and a delusional wanton of Japanese paraphernalia. |
