You're really underestimating the pyschological effect of a sudden turn around >_> as well as the speed with which Natsu smashed that floor into Franmalth. He's squishy but a normal squad of soldiers would not stand a chance? Because he would just suck out all of their souls which would be an instant win. Franmalth lost the moment he couldn't absorb their souls and had two souls forcefully ejected. |

I mean ever since zeref and natsu had that talk and kept saying things like Igneel couldn't kill him and that it was natsu's choice to kill end or not. |
