I've had the misfortune of being very dissatisfied with an otherwise awesome manga due to the ending! Whether you felt it was unjustified, unfair or just plain wrong, tell me the manga that made you angry or disappointed after you turned the last page.

I don't mind spoilers if they're behind a cut, so feel free to vent any frustrations!

My most disappointing ending? HOT GIMMICK! Another manga that got me feeling bleh was Othello.

Well, at least with Hot Gimmick, you can read Hot Gimmick S for an alternate ending :)

That's true but Hot Gimmick S was generally rejected by most fans of the Shinogu x Hatsumi pairing. It was, unfortnately, a poor story. D: <- shinogu fan

At least it didn't turn out to be Hatsumi/Azusa *shudders* I hated that guy with a passion, especially after what he tried to do to her D:

Tokyo Babylon's ending was less disappointing, more "What the hell just happened?" It doesn't help that it's pseudo-sequel X/1999 never got an ending.

i suppose the most disappointing ending to a manga series would be Shaman King. i skipped to the last chapter.....

spoiler:
They never went over the final battle, in the final chapter they showed Yoh dreaming of saving a "princess" Haou...kinda...creepy if you ask me. In the 'extra' chapter they showed a kind of epilogue, but it's still pretty inconclusive as hell.
/spoiler

needless to say i stopped pursuing the series....i read up to vol 23 with 11 vols on my shelf. after discovering the half-assed ending, i lost interest.

Makes sense as most of your series are still publishing. XD

-------------------------------------------------
I would say I wasn't dissapointed with any endings so far, then again I haven't finished much series to begin with.
I would say I wish the Cowboy Bebop manga would be longer. :/

Hot Gimmick was definitely the most disappointing. What was worse for me was that I was spoiled by accident. Doing a search for the newest volume out, I saw a website description that GAVE AWAY THE ENDING!! I was so mad.

Video Girl Ai. I don't know, after 13 volumes the ending just seemed a tad...anti-climactic. My first (and so far, last) romance manga and it just fell flat. Didn't help that I was expecting the story to continue for another two volumes and got "Video Girl Len!". :P I was so pissed I never even read it.

Agreed. I don't think any ending has disappointed me as much as the Shaman King one D:

The shaman king ending was crap because the writer had to rush it, becasue the crappy publishers said that he had to finish it with about 2 volumes notice.
BUT! be excited! MORE SHAMAN KING CHAPTERS ARE BEING RELEASED!!!
We will get an actual ending in March this year!!
read about it here:
mankin-trad.net

Tokyo babylon for me was kind of expected because I watched x/1999 first.. but it still seemed pretty rushed and unresolved really... Their story was still unresolved in X. Why the did they blank out his last words? what the hell is wrong with them?

Anyway, I didn't like Death Notes ending.. it got crappy around the half way mark, but the ending was cliche and upsetting. It didn't match up to the cleverness of the series at all.

....... キタ――――――(゜∀゜)――――――ンッ!!

I'm kinda hoping they're just going to add chapters at the end of the reprint and not change the original (pre-crappy-ending) bits. I don't have enough money to spare ._.

Thank you for the update!

Of the Manga I've finished (which isn't very many btw) the most disappointing endings would be Zombie Powder and I''s

Zombie Powder because it didn't really "end" and just stopped in the middle while the author went on to waste his time on a lesser series imo *cough* Bleach *cough*

I''s because the ending just felt typical of a shonen romance *shrug*

Chobits had an okay ending, but I agree it could have been better.

Fushigi Yugi had the worst ending. One which lasted for an extra 5 manga, which all sucked in comparison to the other 13. >_<

Fire Candy has probably the most disappointing ending of anything I've read lately...considering the author abandoned it. :( It ends in the middle of the action with a "maybe someday I'll get back to this story" note. T_T

It wasn't the 'most' disappointing ending, but I found the ending of The Demon Ororon disappointing.
It didn't answer half the questions, it didn't tie anything up, and it didn't feel like an 'end'. It sort of made me wonder why I'd bothered reading all four volumes :|

I third that.

I was pretty disappointed when I found out that there were only four volumes and it wasn't really given an ending. I hope Kubo finishes Zombie Powder some day.

The Wolf's Rain manga is another one. The manga version of Wolf's Rain was just too short (2 volumes) and the ending just felt very rushed.

I was very dissapointed with death note. I loved the manga and all, but it left you off in a cliff-hanger, most of the characters died, and i felt it was lacking some of the things it needed to become one of my most favorite manga (it is my 2nd favorite manga)
