| You must be god OT: It's a 1-cour non-sequel; it's essentially impossible for it to be overrated, hell it's probably the least overrated show on the entire top 30 page except for the single movies and shit (I.E. Spirited Away, Wolf Children, Rurouni Kenshin and Princess Mononoke) consider that for a second |

| I would have to agree. This anime promised/threw NEETS/Hikikomori's, logic, and a games at us, and all I see is one pile of Brazilian jejeje logic and trash script. I enjoyed the anime 7/10 because of Jibril (and her VA)l and Steph. However, quality/story wise? This was fking terrible and it was actually so bad I didn't even care too much about the series and I don't wish for a second season of the same crap. 4/10 for trying (the art SOMEWHAT bumped it up). The 1st chess game was just cringeworthy. The 2nd chess game I was actually okay with until the MC started to point out terrible logic and he won simply because of... "HURR DURR KINGS GET ASSASSINATED WHEN THEY LOSE THEIR COOL AND BECOME A TYRANT". Seriously? Since when do tyrants get assassinated by their own kind DURING a battle? I would expect that to happen if they were playing Civilization type game where they had to plan diplomacy and long term effects. However, chess is about winning the battle, not the war. They could have just left it at soldiers being infatuated by a loli and turned against the enemy king or anything of that sort, but OFC, he had to use completely stupid logic to why he won. Why? Because it's a logic show that shows how intelligence can overcome anything... too bad this show is quite the contradiction. Btw this was barely even into the anime and it has that many problems. [SPOILERS] Second instance that I remember is the Werebeasts losing because somehow, 'Blank' knew how a heart gun worked (I don't even brazilian logic) and he therefore knew how to correctly grip an unknown gun (remember he's a NEET/hikikomori which the author clearly disregarded and only reminds you when it's most convenient for a cheap laugh jejeje). He also knew the entirety of ammo it fired (how big, what material), how fast it traveled, the gravity in the game they were in, etc. Without this knowledge, no one should be able to come up with angles and formulas to accommodate for unknown x,y,z variables. But somehow, the MC's did and they tried to explain it, which was even more cringeworthy. As if a NEET can aim an unorthodox unknown weapon to fire at precise angles. Also, they claim to use/have almost no luck, 100% skill and that they won from the beginning. The show was fking terrible, rushed, cheap jokes, and only Jibril, Steph, and the loli whenever she didn't use logic saved it. Honestly, I knew from the beginning this was a show I shouldn't expect perfection, but don't tell me a logic game driven anime shouldn't be criticized for it's main intent/purpose. Again, I can argue Black Bullet is also pretty bad story wise, it was rushed, and almost 0 action filled with some cheap generic ecchi scenes to cover up the fillers. But I loved it with no complaints. Why? Because it threw loli's at me and a story that makes sense (just poorly executed in terms of pacing) and therefore I think Black bullet deserves a higher rating. Probably BB would be a 6.5/10 while NGNL would be a 4/10 or 4.5/10 depending on how much you liked the music, art, and 'extras'. As a person that hasn't even finished my education yet and I guess what you would consider a true NEET, I felt like I lost brain cells while watching NGNL and I feel insulted. I also used to be a hikikomori which why I'm in this terrible position for the past 2-3 years and next few months, so watching this MC and seeing him being able to talk confidently to different people and being eager to meet new people is just stupid and shows a lack of focus by the author if this is how it was truly written. tl;dr no game no life is shit inb4 you're a neet so your opinions don't matter. Too bad I don't believe that this anime was poorly scripted is an opinion. I know it is poorly written. However, I do enjoy most poor quality anime such as SAO, BB, NGNL, etc. |

| So I was playing super smash bros melee at a event and this awkward looking guy walks up to me sits down like he is ready to play and I say "Hey how's it going? whats your name?" He mumbles "blank" Then he mumbles a few seconds later "blank never loses" So I reply "oh so your pretty good at this game?" he mumbles back "blank has never played it before" So then this young girl sits down and I ask "hey you want to play with us too? whats your name?" She replies with a timid voice "blank" so I reply back "oh so you know this guy? is that your team name?" The guy replies "no blank is one" So I am thinking to myself, "okay stop talking to this guy he is very odd" So the two of them are on a team against me, he said "blank" has never played the game before so no big deal I can probably beat them both but honestly I feel sort of sorry for them, so I'll probably go easy on them, I don't even pick my best character. Then when we start the two of them start doing advance tactics like wavedashing ect, and I asked them, "oh I thought you said this was your first time playing?" He mumbles "It is." So, I ask him, "How do you know how to wave dash and L cancel and stuff then? did you play project M?" He replies, "no I just figured it all out just now" At that point I know this guy is either just a major no lifer or he is just trolling me. Then since it was 1 v 2 I lose and the guy says "see blank never loses" and I reply, "yeah your pretty good want to play me 1 v 1?" He replies, "I just beat you 1 v 1" then proceed to argue what is 1 v 1, but I give up quick though cause I think the guy has some mental problems or something. Then when he was about to leave he explains how smart he was, that the whole thing was just a setup to beat me. He explains how the game had already started before it started. I am very confused at this point, I figure this guy has never left his house before, and has no friends. His concept of winning was so skewed you could hardly call that a win. But whatever the guy obviously doesn't have any friends besides his sister or whoever that was. I obviously didn't care, felt very sorry for the two though. On topic: yeah super overrated the over the topness just made it feel faker than fake, hallow and shallow. It was funny and cute at times but other than that it didn't appeal to me at all. |

| What, did you trust the ratings before. Mal ratings serve their intended purpose by telling us what the community really loves. Certain anime just don't have a chance at getting a really high score due to the size of their target audience. NGNL can be enjoyed by the majority of anime fans, while something like, say, lain can't. Remember that mal score doesn't promise to be an objective rating of quality. | So much anger for a decent series. Not gonna call it a masterpiece, but I was defiantly entertained every episode. Personal preferences aside, whoever's hating should watch a truly bad anime *cough*Something like Yumaria*cough*. It may not be for you, but that doesn't mean it's bad. |
