Well, Cynthia lives up to her reputation but Arthur didn't back down. Gotta give the guy some credit for always taking on whatever obstacle is ahead of him.

I also have to admit that Arthur exceeded expectations. His training, studying, etc really did pay off after all this time.

Vincent really love Arthur, isn't he? But the best part is that Arthur seems to know that and use that feeling to gain his advantage.

yeah, it was a decent episode up to a point
aside from the action, which was honestly pretty awful across the board, but just the fact that there wasn’t a character standing alone in a room talking to himself, and instead just thinking, already makes me think the writer used at least a tiny bit of their brain this time

I enjoyed the basic manipulation of Arthur to get the magical sword, also a new bit of lore added to with the sword, it'll be a enjoyable final episode of him joining the academy.

I understand it's summarizing the manga to put it in a digestible and timely format, but so much character and personality gets lost in the episode that I was genuinely surprised they kept the uncle Vincent joke scenes since they had skipped a lot during Arthur messing with the sword. It felt like they used Capcut edits to shorten that part.

I wasn't expecting much but at least making the dialogue seem fluid would've been nice. This last episode will decide the rating for me.

Arthur embarks again into a new journey, but it’s still not that interesting. I’m still shocked a season two has been approved for this anime, but well, the budget supports it.

I skipped like half the episode, every character is annoying af.
The powerpoint style animation is the least of this shows problem, the bad writing is the real one lol

@Karath But why?! Just because the protagonist keeps getting random power-ups every time he changes locations? Like, the legendary magic sword randomly found in the shop, which ended up there because a bum threw it at the merchant, after all, all shopkeepers stock the junk that bums throw at them, right? And not only is Arthur the only one who can use it, but he realizes it's a magic sword when all the experts previously called by the merchant said "it's just a stick", makes perfect sense, right? (Of course I'm kidding, this kind of nonsense is only found in fan fiction, the kind written by middle school kids.)

@Geracchio Honestly I dont even hate that, but the over reaction from everyone to everything is annoying, the main character is like 40-50 something and acts like a kid all time.

@Karath That's terrible too, if it were consistent with his writing he should be an asshole, and instead... Anyway, while I'm at it I'll recommend you some series that in my opinion are very good, if you like fantasy, namely Ranking of kings, Mushoku tensei, and Delicious in dungeon.

"Uncle Vincent" that part made me laugh so much, he knew just how to convince him
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

A decent episode: Arthur got his hands on a lot of interesting items, but that sword is anything but normal. And that it was just randomly there is weird. At least he used his wits, taking advantage of Vincent's high regard for him to keep it.

As for Arthur's mask, I thought it would be more significant since it appears in the ending and opening. As does the sword, but it seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Is it really important, or have they skipped parts again?

They changed the story, If I recall correctly Art wanted the mask and sword from Vincent in exchange for him helping Lilia awaken. They also changed a lot of cool scenes, like with Cynthia, she was supposed to come by Vincents house and "fight" with Art. There he was supposed to use wind and earth magic, Cynthia would be impressed but mire so after Vincent told her he used lightning and fire magic againts his father when he came home. And than we learn Art is quadraelemental mage with 2 deviant elements ( ice and lightning ).

So yeah, they changed and skipped a lot lmao

Thinks about how season 2 just got announced without any studio change in sight and sighs...

Also shades a tear and sighs at the fact that loved ones made a terrible decision in investing in 300+ chapters of "To Rent A Girlfriend" for Kazuya to be brutally rejected after vigorous unrelenting simping...

Just sighs..

An improvement from last week. It started with only 32 seconds of still frames versus 47 seconds last week. Maybe by the end of the second season, there will be animation from the start!

@Zinksty Let's put it this way, the first 54 seconds of this episode, only 6 seconds of it has any actual animation and not even meaningful animation. It's like 4 seconds of one mouth moving and 2 seconds of a png spell effect that is upsizing. Nothing else moves. Following those 54 seconds it's the OP and then immediately after the opening you get 20 seconds of still frames. Nothing moves. So of the first 1min and 14 seconds of this "anime" episode, only 6 seconds of it is animated.

I’ve been wondering about this for a while, and now I just want to put it out there, the story is fun, I’m not denying that. It just feels so slow-paced for some reason, I’m not sure why. In any case, I’m still interested and curious to see how the finale will turn out. Hopefully, it won’t be underwhelming.

Arthur enrolling into Xyrus Academy, with the first order of business being tested by the academy's Director Goodsky, his reputation and magic ability exceeds her expectations. But at a young age, he's not ready for school yet, and wants to go on adventuring, much to Alice's chagrin and Reynolds's negotiation skills lacking. Still, if it's what he wants, then both parents should allow him to roam the world, provided he share what is only necessary to them. In this case, Reynolds needing someone to take care of Arthur, and going to Adam's party for help, the leader is unwilling to do so, but his teammate of Jasmine will do.

Well then, Arthur trying to find weapons for his own use at Vincent's place, and comes up with the sheathed sword of Dawn's Ballad W.K. the 4th that feels abnormal and requires an element to deem it useful, yet it feels perfect on him, even convincing his Uncle Vincent to have it. And all that time passes until Arthur's 9th birthday, and willingly so from his parents to allow him to go adventuring with the people they trust, with an encouraging farewell.

The adventuring Arthur ready to make a mark from here on out...that'll spill into Season 2 next Spring...but what will the finale bring next week?

they really ruined the adaptation...
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

@demysteriis771 I'm at this point too. I ended up fast-forwarding through most of this episode.

The fight scenes were bland, the ost is just there and doesn't match the scene half the time, and the entire family/family-friend cast has outstayed their welcome and is now well into annoying territory. Like, the dude went "I want to become an adventurer" then the entire second half of the episode is almost filler-level padding of people talking about him becoming an adventurer. Come on.

11 of 12 eps... and it was filled with more stills than you can shake a stick at... i thought i was watching a picture drama for almost this whole episode. about the only piece that was decently done was the beginning. seriously, 2nd to the last ep and Studio A-Cat puts one out THIS blah? i'm hoping a NEW studio gets the announced 2nd Season coming next year!!! because S1 has been... meh :/ OK at best. the story's fun and entertaining... but the animation and art execution has been below average throughout S1. maybe the Season finale will be good? but my expectations are not that high.

@Zinksty This season of 12 episodes is some prep for the upcoming is what I'm speculating. The animation was trash in the middle of this season and everything seems to be mid. There is some story to this anime I noticed, so I do recommend for you to judge it yourself. Honestly a 7/10 series, it's very watchable, don't know if you will enjoy it, but it's not that bad as people say it is.

Was the budget for this show a pack of bubble gum and orphans tears?
