| OK what the hell did i just watch, I appreciate new scenes but this was butchered and messed up, i even prefer a slower paced episode then this. although I praise the quality of the animations for some of the scenes they where really topnotch. |

| Fierce, furious HATRED!!! Not to the episode itself; to the creators. Seriously. There are some good filler fights - like Kakashi vs Kakuzu. Why was this one... SO crappy?! Meh, gonna go and re-read the manga, and try to forget the episode. |

| Amazingly done, great music, great animation. Although the animation is a bit strange, "trashy" art is what i prefer, it makes it look more natural. You can't expect a character to have a model expression when going at that speed and that was what they showed. Some expressions were kind of out of place too, but meh. You can't enjoy anything if all you're looking for are faults. Stay positive. 5/5. I were surprised. |

| hmm i had so many flashbacks of the old sasuke vs naruto fight today, on top of that pain well, the animation well um sucked a lot of times. I read the manga so I was looking forward to this part so much I mean why couldn't they of use the same type of animation as naruto vs orochimaru that was great. Although the wack-a-pain part was hysterical besides parts like that I was very disappointed today, onagi naruto producers-same never do that to us loyal fans again. edit - there was the one time when i was wondering if pain was attacking or taking a shit it looked that bad. |
| Ok, a lot of people said the animeation is not naruto-ish, I have to agree with it. (New studio got the anime series or wtf?) I disliked the filler fight, IMMA FIRING MAH LAHZOR O.o. The second half was really good with the appereance of the 4th hokage, I loved the new ending as well (edit 2: Oh it's Supercell ^^ Bakemonogatari yay!). For me one of the best moment in the fighthing was 12:28 - 12:34. Edit: forgot to mention, the music was epic in this episode. There was a song which was kinda like Nightwish in the fight, and the song when Naruto was in "kyuubi world" was heart-touching. |

| I wonder what a moron hired that studio to create this episode. I even didn't know that its possible to fucked so much an episode.. everything looks like a cartoon.. Lets see.. Kyuubi in the raving rabbids form... Pain the road runner.. Pain's hatred face (and my first facepalm..) and the winner of this episode: Pain nailed into the ground xD |

| Huh, they really wanted to make a point with this filler fight, interesting how they were basically trying to recreate the same original fight with Sasuke and Naruto. But yea lasers over the top and apparently Pain is an avid Earthbender (sorry couldnt help it). From what I remember, the manga actually made this Fox transformation pretty short in comparison. Although I did enjoy the final sequence between Naruto and the Fox, and of course the Minaots voice, first time ive heard hims since coming back to the anime. |

Pain's face was lolwut for most of the episode. Although there are a lot of added fight scenes to make the episode longer, this was also a fail. Whack-a-Pain anyone? And water coming out from underground did not make sense, nor does Six-tails Naruto shooting laser beams and breathing fire and Pain's skin not burning when blocking Naruto's attacks. Though the last part of Chibaku Tensei(Planetary Devastation is a pretty cool name) and Naruto almost unsealing Kyuubi was kind of great. I was expecting a lot from this part of the manga but it was kind of disappointing. Oh well >.< |

| I agree the drawing style of this ep reminds hell of a lot of FLCL, but come on people! Naruto hasn't been this good since before Sasuke went rogue. Storywise I'm excited (and hoping they don't screw up) over the coming eps! |

| Whats with all the bitching? would you guys prefer the animation in 163 or this? yeah thats what I thought I didnt mind the animation, sure there are few chunky moments but the action was just amazing and I loved the ending where 4th comes out, this is definetly one the best episodes to date. |
| the filler at the beginning annoyed me.....wish he'd gone straight to 6 tails like in the manga but it got better at the end which made me give it 4/5 :) |

| Why is it such a bad thing that the animation reminds you of FLCL? That's not a bad thing, it's marvelous. This is how Naruto should've been animated to begin with. They used the same animators in a couple of episodes in the Asuma arc, and, of course, the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight a long time ago. Nothing has moved so much in an episode of Naruto since I can't remember when! The action blasted out from beginning to end. Why're you calling the beginning a filler in such a negative way? I think it's great that they added something extra and didn't stick to the manga. It's the best freaking thing about this episode. Facts, not opinions (EDIT: I meant the other way around >_>). Too bad it looks like this mindblowing animation won't continue with the next episode. |

| The animation was horrible. I mean come on... in the first part of the fight it was like everything was made out of blocks. Even the faces were drawn strange at firs... when I first saw sakura I thought that I was seeing the Naruto series? WTF??? Is she using anti-aging cream already or something?.... |

| when naruto hit 1 of the pains they were KO, now he hits 1 with a 10ton rock and all he does is goe in the ground ? :s besides that very nice episode :D |
| what an epic episode. i was so mesmerized the whole episode, it felt like it was a movie that i didnt want to end. shame the whole show wasnt animated like this.next ep looks like animation is going back to normal >.< not lookin foward to it |

Although it would never have been drawn in the manga. It makes you think they move very, very fast though, right? Haha, and I agree that it doesn't quite make sense how Pain took that hit like nothing (but THE hit was amazing!). Let's leave that for Kishimoto. |
| So from what I get out of this is that people would actually prefer pwetty pictures over fluid animation...no wonder why most anime have bad animation all the time. This episode is one of the few Naruto episodes that doesn't have a whole lot of still frames. Oh and btw, of course the artwork looks bad but we're not reading a manga here aren't we? We see it move. |
