One Punch Man did NOT deserve such a horrible animation.

Could have at least used your main account but whatever. I don't think Japan gives a fuck about MAL ratings to begin with, it's the Japanese audience which is their main target.

You get the most generic, barely average anime nr.566 every season for how many years? And they still somehow get multiple seasons, so it means that people in Japan must like that crap since they make sales and then the studios continue making more seasons. Honestly, idk what's the actual situation in Japan when it comes to this, but that's just how it looks to me and it's kind of a shame.

@GTRaijin This is the first time I’ve ever created an account specifically just to write a comment and rate an anime, so yes, this is my main account. I’m one of those people who usually never writes anything but with this season, I just couldn’t hold back. It genuinely makes me feel really bad and upset that my favorite anime is being made by people who clearly don’t care about it. Even if Japan doesn’t care about MAL, i still believe that everyone who enjoyed Season 1 and even Season 2 should leave negative ratings and reviews for Season 3.

Decent episode compared to the rest of the season. If the entire S3 looked like this, it still would’ve deserved criticism, but it could’ve at least saved us from the One Frame Man slander and that Disaster Level: Garou PNG slide which'll haunt the franchise longer than the monsters ever did.

Though, to be fair, that cursed-yet-iconic slide did give us some good memes. xD

Saitama's presence has almost disappeared, and he's treated like a side character instead of the main character. Even the new animation scenes can't save the show. The original appeal of the series feels lost.

I mean, I get that the animation was reasonably decent in quality this time, but the main fight really highlighted the central issue of this show this season for me, which is: Why should I care about the characters on screen? We had only seen the people in the fight in like 3 episodes each throughout the whole show, and barely know anything about them. Beyond the typical bragging about how strong they are, most of the fight is them dumping character exposition at each other. And then they try to close with some sentimental-sounding lines like "tell me, what did we lack?" The end result is a fight that tries to make you have feelings for very minor side characters with very generic personalities who we have no reason to care about.

I just feel like we're way too far from the show's initial premise and appeal. There was none of the self-aware humor or character personality that made S1 work. You need at least some good writing to make the main moments impactful. I'm not a fan of Garou, but at least they were trying to do something there. Idk why you'd give any significant action screentime to individual characters who haven't had any character development. I guess they might have to follow whatever the manga is on that, but still, I would've much preferred to see them devote that much attention to a fight involving Saitama, Genos, or any of the built-up main cast, rather than use it on Flash and Sonic's one-off rivals.

thats the point. he's either too late or never shows up. go back to season 1 if you want to see him punch things all the time. Saitama rarely progresses the plot anyway

Wow Flash's fight actually surpassed anything from season 2's animation. And the pacing is also pretty good for the whole ep. Refreshing to see since Ep 7 was awful.

anime fans have a rep and this page/these threads/etc show why.

i know ratings are kind of a joke and what's popular generally isn't best and all, but this season has a rating of 4. and these threads are just nonstop complaining. like, if you hate it so much, just stop watching/commenting.

i'm actually enjoying the season. i wish it had more episodes and wish it didn't take so long, but it is what it is.

and fwiw, for those who think the animation is literally the worst ever and that this kind of thing never happened...the amount of recycled footage, alone... that used to happen (eg, gundam wing).

Gotta be honest..... I freakin LOVED this episode!
The animation was definitely much better.
Although it was VERY irregular. There were some extremely bad moments. I'm pretty sure there's a close shot where a character speaks but the lips aren't moving at all. That's amateurish. But aside from that, overall, the fight was great.

Everything changes. Even the happy and funny things eventually disappear. How can I still enjoy this place then?

I actually LOVED the episode, 5/5 from me, genuinely. First and foremost, Flash's fight against Hellfire and Tempest was SUBLIME, I absolutely LOVED it. Secondly, I definitely did NOT expect Emperor to be that strong. I thought he was all brains, but he's just as strong as he is clever. I was really impressed.

I believe they used lots of CGI during the fight and honestly it's good, it's way better than the quality of drawings they were able to deliver before and with all the effects it's not noticeable too much

the director said there are mixing 3d+2d trying to make it blend

episode 8 have 3d/cgi
and with 4 episodes left for this season/cour atleast
we might really see ep 8 level animations
or even improved
i think the remaining episodes will be at this level or better then ep 8
so i think 8-12 are gonna be the best episodes of s3

I don't think that episodes 10-12 will have good animations but it's better to have hope than despair and be toxic.

What an incredible episode! I knew the studio was hiding its top-tier animators. Don't be fooled — season two did have some great sequences, just not as often as we wanted. But what makes this so surprising is that they delivered it with that director, tight deadlines, and an low budget.

Flashy Flash was at his best here. The man is absurdly strong, and it's no wonder he’s Rank S. His fight was everything it needed to be: the enemies were formidable, the twists were constant, and the speed-based choreography was insane. In the end, his opponents discarded their human bodies and succumbed to monster flesh, and even though Flash took damage, he still came out on top. Truly exhilarating. I'd love to see more fights like this from now on.

Right after that, Child Emperor learns that Metal Knight was defeated — but worse, Knight knew the hostage's location and didn’t even bother telling the Hero Association. Annoyed, the absolute chad Child Emperor tears through a wave of monsters and rescues the arrogant kid. The slime monster and the bird from last season were handled quickly, but that robot? Terrifying. And Child Emperor is burning through devices way too fast in this operation. They both need to hurry.

I'd love to see more fights of this caliber going forward. But honestly? For a fourth season, I really hope another studio picks this anime up.

A decent animation this time!Flashy Flash defeated Wind and Flame with his extreme fast attack and speed! I don’t think these two ninjas deserve to be dragon threats levels when they transformed at all! Flashy Flash is just too strong!

Child Emperor saved the kid from the hero association!Did Phoenix man get killed by him?

G5 returned in the monster association! Child Emperor and the kid escaped from it by using robots?Child Emperor is too smart so he deserves that S class!

Don’t forget to mention that Child Emperor has multiple color filters this time!

I'm actually impressed by this episode. The first half is due to animation (yes, I'm quited surprised by this), though I get to know more about Flashy Flash I'm still not sure why those couple ninja monster want to fight him, not sure if it's revenge, or just coincidence, and are they related to another ninja-theme character Speed-o-Sonic? This is one of the rare moment that the animation exceed the story.

The second half I'm impressed by how creative Child Emperor fight, he never fight battle in the same way, his backpack is filled with helpful yet dangerous tools, but what I love the most is how he never let his guard down. Usually a genius character like him is either stay in the safe area all the time or being too confident and get himself killed in battle zone, but he's neither. And maybe that's why the next episode is called "Brave Child".

I know OPM has a soft spot for young characters so they aren't likely to be killed (though they may get kidnapped), but I'm still nervous that Child Emperor might be fighting something he can't win. I hope some other stronger heroes will help him soon. That samurai robot is very menace, I think his name is G4.

Can't wait for the next week!

@phantomfandom both Wind and Flame are from the same village as Sonic. In season 2 they try to recruit him to make stronger team to kill flash.Sonic refused at first but after thinking about the possiblity to be stronger to defeat Saitama He eat the monster Cell but he choose to cook it and failed
