@JoeChip Crazy how you immediately get offended just because someone rates an anime different than you. Chill, it's not that deep. Your opinion isn't any better than mine, the same as mine isn't any better than yours. At least I don't go randomly attacking people over anime. Scrolling through someone's else's list just to find ammunition as if it means anything is incredibly childish (funny, because I got curious and went to see what you rate highly hoping to understand you better, only to find out you yourself keep your anime ratings private; I know you've seen more than five, especially if you're making fun of people who rate Babylon an 8, when you don't even have it on your list at all; did you even watch it lol?). Didn't you say in a different post you were 34 or something? Assuming you are the same guy I recall (I have a good memory, but not always perfect), I flat out don't believe you, not because I think you're lying, but because if you were telling the truth that would be really sad and immature. Getting upset enough to bother other people for liking "edgy" anime? So what? Are we not allowed to enjoy edgy media? What's your authority on the matter? Answer: None. This is an episode discussion board; talk about *why* it's edgy; *how* it's edgy; why that is a criticism? What makes it not work? You have an argument to make, but yiu refuse to elaborate. If you did somewhere else,, good for you,, but that begs the question of why you're here if you're not contributing to tye discussion and exclusively replying to others just to bully them. Go on, share with the class or go back to eating your glue, or whatever else elementary schoolers do.. it was one thing when you did this shit to me days ago; I'm a big boy, I can handle some person disagreeing with me on the internet; not going to change the fact I have a good life going on right now. But to do this shit to other people on multiple different posts? *That* pisses me off. Anyway, just wanted to call out how immature you are. Be nice. Have a good day. I'll respond if you want an actual mature conversation. Side note, like genuine question, everything else aside: If you hate Takopi's Original Sin so much, then why are you even here? Wouldn't it be easier to just drop the series and move on? This is a discussion board, but you're not discussing anything, just making fun of people for no reason. It would be one thing if you were ranting about why you hated the series or your thoughts on why it's bad; or just your thoughts on it in general...but you haven't done that. You're only purpose here is seemingly to be a dick. Just genuinely curious your reasoning. |

@Wrathberry84 you clearly missed most of the messages of this show and it’s ending, and “most overhyped anime in existence” is kinda ironic given some of your ratings lol
@Rogersss i dont think i missed any of the "messages" of this show. Maybe you can enlighten me? In the end the author got lazy and solved everything with deus ex machina.. |

Oh wow the series was devastating but I really enjoyed it. Crazy that most of the events happening there is not fiction and there are so many kids irl fighting similar battles... Takopi and his gadgets reminded me of the alien from Dead Dead Demons (which borrowed the idea from Doraemon in the first place) I also loved that the author ended it on an optimistic note. At some point I was afraid it would go some other trashy route just for the sake of shock value but I'm glad it didn't. Wouldn't be the right fit here |

Episode 6 of Takopi’s Original Sin is the embodiment of the word trauma. In this episode, we witness not just the immediate effects of abuse and neglect, but the deep emotional scars they leave behind—especially on a child like Shizuka. Trauma here doesn’t stem from a single event, but from a buildup of emotional wounds: bullying, abandonment, family dysfunction, and the absence of love. Every silent pause, every emotional breakdown, and every drastic action taken by the characters is a reflection of unresolved trauma. Even Takopi—who arrives with innocent intentions and advanced tools—realizes that trauma is not something that can simply be “fixed.” It’s a psychological wound that shapes a person’s reality, and if ignored, it can lead to devastating consequences. This episode powerfully reminds us that trauma, when left unacknowledged, festers into pain that no technology or magic can heal. |

it is not good to hit the takopi with a rock :( I found this anime totally miserable i didn't really do much with it's premise other than 'subvert tropes' which in itself is not good or bad I liked the fact it had a happy ending but takopi going full madoka kaname just feels kind of out of place what is the moral of this meant to be? that some things are bad and there is nothing you can do to help? i do not feel this deserves the praise it is getting from everyone at all 6/10 |

quick question for anyone with a big brain (or that saw something that i didnt see for some reason)... on the final timeline after Takopi's sacrifice, was it ever said why Azuma started fighting with his brother? one of his motivations to help Shizuka and to being so unhappy was all he had bottled up againts his mom and brother, so the fact he states he fought Shinya over videogames means that was "corrected"... so im wondering, is there a reason for it? or should i assumi its something "ingrained" in him from all the Takopi contact? (kinda like how Marina remembers Shizuka wearing a flower the day before in a timeline where that never happened? |

Great 4 episodes, episode 5 was already weird, and lastly, episode 6... IMO this one feels like a trainwreck I'm totally fine with a happy ending, but... why it had to be this magical. Like seriously, Takopi just magically fixed everything with a snap of finge... tentacles. All the bad things, hatred and murder? Never happened. Takopi seemingly vaporized himself, but still somehow altered the brains of everyone so that they suddenly fixed their core problems. Marina saw an octopus drawing and boom, suddenly she is friendly now. The dude in glasses suddenly changed his demeanor. I also didn't understand the transition from EP 5 to EP 6. In what reality did the EP 6 started? What exactly was so horrible between the two brothers and how could arguing solve that? This ending left me very confused. All that drama, all those bad events, were just so that Takopi could suicide himself and magically alter everything? No real lessons taken by the girls, just "boohoo, friendship comes from magic!"? I don't get the morale of the story... |

In the end , Marina And Shizuka both shared a collective bond through Takopi's sketch in Shizuka's book and were talking about Takopi. Takopi was shown with Marina in 2022 and then it goes back in time to kill Shizuka in 2016. And now it finally went back last time by using his happy powers . But how did Marina have memories of Takopi( as she and Shizuka were talking about him ) as she was with him in 2022 and in the end the time was 2016? |

Terrible ending. It doesn't even make any sense. In both timelines Marina hated Shizuka until the fucking end but she gets her memories from the timeline where she killed her mother and now she magically befriends Shizuka and everything's okay? Wouldn't her mother hate her even more for knowing she associates herself with the daughter of the slut who stole her husband? |

This work addresses issues faced by children resulting from domestic discord, as well as the unfortunate events that may arise from such situations. Although family-related problems are often difficult to observe from the outside, we are increasingly being called upon—as individuals and as members of local communities—to consider how we should respond to these realities. To ensure that as many children as possible, who have no choice over their family environment, can live in safety and with peace of mind, we believe that not only institutional and social support systems, but also the attitudes and involvement of the adults around them, play a vital role. |

The resolution could've been better. It makes you go "oh they're fine with each other now!". It didn't hit hard. Nonetheless, I had a ton of fun with this show. Anime with all their characters traumatized usually don't work for me but I like this one. Shizuka's crash out was nice to watch cos I needed to see how she felt about the events happening to her. |

It's decreasing due to the ending, which was kind of disappointing. I loved this anime, and I still rated it a 10/10, but the ending was disappointing because everything got resolved with "magic" in a lazy way, and I guess plenty of people aren't happy with the ending either, so they are giving it a lower score. It's sad, I wanted to see this anime in the 9.0+ group, but that won't be happening anymore because of the ending. i think whats missing rly is time one aditional episode to not rly finish it off so brutally quick when they noticed the notebook and started crying i was expecting, them to actually get verbal and communicate, say why they are like that and realize none of them is at fault, and i guess thay did happen, only off screen. Also Azuma closure was missing something, you can understand he grew up and looks at his brother diferently, but our only chance to seeing him interacting with the girls is taken away. Also they should've at least explained a bit better what takopi did, he clearly didn't just went back, otherwise everything wouldve gone like it did without him, all of the 3 had recolection of him so they shouldve explained what he did by sacrificing himself. that said, all of it happened, but it was more of an implied thing "oh now they went trought this and that and talked about this and that" but only in the viewers mind, once again an extra episode would've been so much better. ep 9 could finish with takopi sacrificing itself and the ep 10 could be how the full day went the day of the reset plus timeskip, wpuld make much more sense honestly. still the writing is there and i believe it deserves the 9 mark ๐ |

@Alex_the_reaper Yep I agree, this anime tangled itself with heavy topics, so it needed a few more episodes to untangle itself without resorting to something lazy like "magic", because this came out of nowhere. This needed at least 2 or 3 more episodes, or maybe make it a 12-episode anime to untangle itself properly. Of course, the anime is not the one at fault here; it's the manga that's too damn short, but I wanted the anime to fix this somehow by adding new stuff. Oh well, it's still a pretty damn good anime despite the weak ending. |

I had great experience with ep 1-5, and while waiting for ep 6 i was worried since manga readers don't like the ending. Turns out I also don't like the ending. I don't mind about Takopi and his time travels, but the memory transfer plot device at the end just didn't make enough sense in comparison, and hurt my immersion. Even so, I don't regret watching this anime. Emotional rawness at this level doesn't come by too often, too many anime play it safe. |

Man, that was beautiful! It's one of the shows that I had been storing up because I knew it was going to kill me otherwise and phew, I'm so glad I did. Would've been in a perilous situation whether to read manga or wait week in and week out otherwise. At the end of the day, Takopii didn't care about the horrible parents and we can see that there probably weren't any developments there. All Takopii wanted was to help the three of them realise that they aren't alone and, in that, he did it wonderfully. Azuma-kun pretty much summed it up at the start of the episodes - there's the bad and the good in everyone, and it's the surroundings that dictate which comes out when. Crazy developments all throughout. I'd a feeling things were going a little south right around the time when Kuze-chan was off to Tokyo but I felt the twist of Marina-chan in 2022 was brilliant and added a whole new layer to the story. Even in episode 1 after the ED, there's a scene of Marina-chan ending her sentence with a -pi and I thought this was probably just to signal the events that would transpire 10 mins later into the series but now I'm thinking it might've been a hint for this. Takopii was too innocent but that's what ended up helping Kuze-chan and Marina-chan find solace in each other through his memory, and I think that's just a perfect conclusion to the story. I do wonder though, he could've left Kuza-chan to her own devices just like the start of the show. Did he have a feeling that things would change or was he able to ascertain in some way that something might be different next? Or maybe it was just to make sure Marina-chan's back. I couldn't exactly figure out Takopii's main intentions here. I caught up to OP yesterday and this today, my eye balls and tear glands have been made to work overtime lmao. I was out of watching anime for a bit but it's safe to say I'm back in full glory now! I'll go with an 8.5/10 for this one. I wish we could have seen more of Junya-san, it didn't feel right that he just framed himself like that even with all the hints of brotherly affection and whatnot. Aside from that, I do want to know what happened with Chappy in the original timeline (not the 2022 one) though, did the failed father really leave him for adoption or something? Also, it seems like Kuze-chan didn't kill her two half-sisters so it begs the question how was she able to check the stomach interiors and I doubt that would've helped either way, to be honest lol. But yeah, the show made it seem like that was possible but iirc she just took the doppelganger device from Takopii... Anyways, that's just a little ramble. I love what this show was trying to imply and it's also a stark reminder that these kinds of dynamics also exist IRL which makes it even more memorable as a viewer. |

- EXTREMELY FAST PACED and kept engaged throughout the entire series. The musical score was deceiving but very catchy throughout the entire show. All the characters were highly developed, nuanced, and despicable in their own way (which I love). Well some things about the ending were a little silly but I can't really think of a better ending, any other ending would either be more depressing or even more deus-ex-machina-y. Though I agree it would be nice to see a little more of how Marina and Shizuka became friends, like seeing them talk about all they went through. There are still some little mysteries and unanswered questions but oh well. Overall I enjoyed the show, it had a lot of emotions and drama and twists, and great animation. TakoPeak indeed |

My god, six episodes in and Takopii is still the same annoying mess he was at the start. He finally got his memories back last episode, and yet he's still going around saying things like, "DoN't YoU WaNna SeE ShIzUkA HaPPy?" Like seriously? Please for the lvoe of god, FUCKING STOP. At least Azuma showed some actual development. Meanwhile, Takopii hasn’t changed a bit, still clinging to this version of Shizuka that barely even feels like Shizuka anymore.
But ofc, since it’s the final episode and we have to force a happy ending, we somehow manage to change the mind of a literal murderer in under three minutes, because that totally makes sense. And then we reset the timeline, effectively making everything that happened completely pointless. What a joke. Oh, and somehow Marina and Shizuka magically remember Takopii after all that, just conveniently enough to give us a feel-good bonding moment at the end.
God, the show was already awful, but this ending honestly rivals disasters like Darling in the FranXX, truly. And the similarities are hard to ignore, both are carried almost entirely by their animation, with everything else falling apart. That said, I’m still genuinely curious to see where the studio goes from here. ENISHIYA is easily one of the most interesting new companies to emerge this decade. I just hope their next project actually lives up to their potential instead of being another frustrating waste of talent.

@IzanaSolos Lol... You're judging Takopii from the perspective of a mature human with complex morals, when he's literally an innocent creature who only understands one concept "making people happy." Forcing a character like that to suddenly change and understand all the layers of human emotion and trauma just proves that you completely missed the point of the final episode. Bro... The conclusion is clear NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE SOLVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS. Marina was still shown with a scar on her cheek — a visual metaphor that even after Takopii’s ultimate sacrifice to make Shizuka and Marina become friends, their past pain still exists. It's not a fully happy ending. The ending isn’t about “everyone becomes happy.” It’s about sacrifice, forgiveness, and the hope for a better future, even if the scars remain. If you saw it merely as a “timeline reset,” then you only watched the surface and missed the deeper message. And it’s kind of ridiculous to compare this to Darling in the FranXX, which collapsed due to structural issues and forced narrative, while Takopi no Genzai stays thematically consistent from start to finish. Finally, if you still insist the ending is bad, fine, that's your right. But don’t blame an innocent character like Takopii just because he doesn’t align with your complex adult logic and moral expectations while still staying innocent. It’s precisely that innocence that makes the message work. |
