Gachiakuta is a new anime that, based on this initial pilot episode, showcases the stark contrasts between high society and skid row-style peasantry. The plot, so far, seems dark, edgy, but a bit relatable to those who value even the little things.

This anime is going to be dark, hard, and impactful. I can tell already.

Good episode, before this epi I didn't know much about this series aside from it having a cool power system, so I was a little disappointed that this ep didn't contain any of that. Nonetheless, this episode set a good framework for the series! Excited for the next one.

Interesting show, but Chiwa's betrayal seemed too forced to me. She seemed genuine, loyal, someone who'd take his side no matter what, but NAAH. Of course they had to make her into a fake biatch who changes dramatically so that our MC can go full edgelord revenge-mode, which is lame. I honestly thought they'd kill her and blame him, but at least they didn't make it THAT predictable.

Standard first episode for a fantasy shounen. Kinda interested in the worldbuilding aspect of the story so I look forward to seeing how it's developed.
OP song slaps, btw.

I mean this as a positive, the vibes felt like something you'd watch on a late night on Adult Swim. I actually like that the animation is kind of "street". Like the wealthier area is portrayed more as clean and more symmetrical where as the slums looks a lot more edgier and the characters look rougher which.

Not a bad first episode. There are a couple things I didn't like but eh, I enjoyed it overall! Looking forward to seeing how Rudo escape the pit.

Also I saw powerlines at the bottom of the pit. I had a feeling the bottom of the pit was like the rest of the world or something. My guess is that the trash of the old world gained life and started to attack people. Maybe it wasn't so bad at first but it eventually turned into that big monster at the end, leading to people eventually moving up a mountain to escape the trash and monsters below. I feel pretty confident that's where this is going lol but looking forward to learning more about this world!

Also damn I did not expect Chiwa to turn on Rudo like that.

To be fair to the bullies he definitely smelled like trash. Apparently he goes dumper diving regularly so...

The revenge part seems mildly interesting but it depends on how it's written. I mean getting revenge on all of the other people in the slums for doing nothing seems like a bit much.

That was hella edgy. I'm not the type of person who particularly likes watching these edgy shounen shows but well can't really judge something from just the first episode so I'll give it a chance. Visuals are okay

Okay so having not read the manga, This was a pretty standard start to this series. Very shounen-like.

I'm expecting great things from it since the manga is very highly praised. The artstyle though, They've nailed the manga's aesthetic right atleast.
The song at the end was probably the opening and it was very suited for this anime. Overall, Enjoyed this premiere.

Let's see where this goes.

First episode leaked.

Didn't get your fill of shounen slop with Fire Force last season? Well don't worry, something even worse has you covered this season, from an assistant of Fire Force, no less! It's pretty obvious right off the bat as well lol. Like literally, Rudo is just an edgier version of Shinra. In fact, this whole thing feels like a more try-hard Fire Force overall. The art style and direction turned up by ten and thus make them absolutely vomit-worthy. I get why people like the manga to some extent. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the art there rocks…

…but here? God, everything about the visuals just makes me want to peel my eyes out. Anyway, the whole final scene with Rudo’s sensei or whatever getting killed, and him getting framed and sent to “the pit,” ends with him dropping such a “TufF and AurA liNE” as he falls... like come on. And sheeesh, that pit must really be garbage, because the CGI we saw at the end was 100% GARBAGE. SO yeah, it's a revenge story. Greaattttt. Don't have enough of those do we.

Seriously, even as someone who doesn't like the manga either, just read it over.. whatever this is. Bones really has lost any type of sauce they used to have.

And guess what the only positive thing about this episode was, yeah, not even something visual. Nope, it was the OP song playing at the end. Not just because it meant the episode was finally over, but because damn man, that song is a straight-up BANGER.

Why is this absolute slop the first post?

It starts out just like how I remember why I was drawn into Attack on Titan. The MC is living a crappy life, but at least it's a peaceful one. And then all hell breaks loose towards the end of the first episode. In AOT it was an irregular titan breaching the wall that was supposed to be high and durable enough to keep the titans out, and here it's the MC being framed for a crime he didn't commit and executed on the spot without getting a chance to defend himself. This is going to change Rudo into somebody who is out to change the world for the better seeing that most people die upon being thrown into the Pit, but it's going to be a long, difficult road. Great start to this show and CR sure wasn't lying when they hyped it up.

The world of this story is extremely messed up, and its "justice" system is a complete joke; no presumption of innocence to execute someone, no hard evidence required, no trial, no nothing. But at least the MC (somehow) survived.

His "girlfriend" turned out to be quite shitty though. Instantly swayed by mob and the BS verdict of the city's enforcers... She didn't deserve him.

Interesting so far. Hoping it'll be promising. I don't have nearly as many grievances as some others seem to have at the moment. Shame about Chiwa defaulting to the mob right after saying he wouldn't do that. Will be looking out for more episodes. Speculating that the one who set him up might be his dad but not sure tbh.

I liked it, but I'm worried that instead of exacting his revenge on these people the MC will just bend over backwards to get everyone to like him and just end up being a good guy by the end.

So far this show makes me happy that the future of Shonen manga is in good hands because I felt happy like I was when young watching bleach, the opening of the anime was well done regarding the aspect and depiction of our morden society because I don't see any difference between their world and ours it's just the same "The rich people and poor people". The characters so far are peak I kinda like the old man too bad he got murk but still framing somone for what he didn't do is crazy work and kinda fucked up growing up in shit trying to make a living just to end up getting fked is Diabolical worse part was the girl he cared and liked ended up saying "that" to him damn. Overall I went into this anime blind even when the manga came out I didn't read it or Checked it out but I kept hearing just how good it was and I'm glad the Author gave studio Bones because they are the only studio that could actually pull it off which they did spectacularly, the music, background animation everything 10/10. Can't wait for next episode

Not sure why this anime is getting alot of hate (looking at you izanasolos, but i do agree fireforce is just hot garbage). Sure the MC is a little edgy but the character design, character variety, and animation seems really good to me. The setting is not at all generic and i do have a reason to come back and watch more episodes because i want to see where this goes.

Ignoring the... frankly idiotic first comment in this thread, all in all I am disappointed.

The artstyle is visually very interesting, especially the character design. Not in the characters' characteristics, that we can see a dime a dozen in many anime, but simply the way they're drawn. Some of the shots were genuinely eye candy worthy.

The plot itself seems rather simply and nothing particularly revolutionary. Lower vs upper class, the destitute vs the wealthy, oppressing those beneath you to forget those who oppress you. A pretty generic plot but with enough leeway to develop. Some plot hooks throughout the episode to pique your curiosity. Not amazing but well executed enough. Didn't even mind Regto's murder much as, while fast, felt at least consistent.

The end though... Chiwa felt shoehorned in. From someone who supposedly is also in love with him to immediately fully believing he is a murderer? No hesitation, public denouncement? Meh. He had plenty enough motivation to feel as he did without her existence so it feels like she was added purely to try and squeeze a few extra pity points out of the viewer. A very teenage fanfic like revenge plot. Boohoo, all who truly loved me are dead, all who fake loved me betrayed me, woe is me. Feels like a generally inconsistent and dishonest plot point. Remove her entire character and we'd be at roughly the same place with less disappointment.

OK it's got a lot of style. But lots of animes today live or die by style alone. Let's see if this title gets any real writing to back it up. At least it's intriguing enough to give the 3 eps test.

And it seems to me there was another anime or maybe a live action sci-fi movie that had pretty much the exact same premise from back in the 80s or maybe early 90s. Just can't put my finger on it though.

Strong first episode, though storytelling-wise I dsilike Chiwa's change of heart with no reason given for her to distrust Rudo. I understand the genre convention for this sort of story dictates that the protagonist be completely alone in the world, but that sort of attitude flip with no explanation always irks me. Other than that, lots of great animation, a cool concept, as well as really cool design on the world and characters.

Interesting start. Kind of dislike how ugly the main character is, but I can get over it if his development is good. Not sure if I'll stick with this one long term, but going to give it at least a few more episodes
