Oh man, it hit emotionally when Nowak started to pray for his daugther Jolanta and the reappearance of Rafaล‚, aswell as it is clear that Nowak realised whom was the leader, Draka realising what Schmidt meant by praising the sunrise...

And most importantly, Kingdom of Poland confirmed, not some random P. acronyms.

Edit:

O hell nah, I am seeing the character staff and the last name of Albert [He's the real historical person]. I already know where the plot will be going, cause I know a little bit about him from history lectures x)

@Dami-Echertal I know MANY friends who thought the same as i, it wasn't just me. Maybe you're either a manga reader or have manga reader friends, so you knew, however, Dandadan wasn't like Chainsaw Man for me, since i heard about Chainsaw Man long before it dropped, although i never read it, but that's how popular it was, however, that wasn't the case for Dandadan with me, so yeah.

I wonder who the guy is. Probably whoever received the dove?

Not sure how I feel about Draka landing a fatal hit on THE Novak, but I was positively surprised that both him AND her died. And it was kinda nice to see how both found peace in the end, despite having different believes.

When they were talking about replacing god with money, though, I didn't know who to root for anymore, lol. Capitalism is the root of so much evil today, we might have been better off with god.

The clown-award goes to Antoni, though. Last week I was like "disappointing how easily Novak let himself get persuaded by mere words". And this week showed that it, indeed, would have been out of character for him to falter that easily. Antoni was WAY too assured of his safety, wow.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

They need to stop cutting onions before all the sad episodes. I can't stop crying if these onions are getting sliced ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

All I can say is how beautiful it is to portray a father's love for their children. Even with the gates of hell raging at his feet. Novak still finds a way to seek forgiveness for his daughters sin. It really strikes a chord how his whole world was shattered. Just to realize his whole life purpose was ultimately meaningless. The suffering, pain and agony he put people through... Enduring the screams of the innocent for years on end just to hear " it was for nothing." Is fate worse than death at the very least he got a " happy ending" given one last chance to hold his littles girl hand once more.

All in all, I can't help but enjoy the series. The philosophy, storytelling and characters are all dense yet all point to the stars of how precious life can be. In a world of crippling struggles or heartache. ๐Ÿฅฒ Big shout to the guy who wrote this master piece ๐Ÿ™

  • Nowak tried to cover up the fact that the heliocentric theory is not heretic to the end. It's a big difference from the act of Piast.
  • Nowak would have been unsure whose hand it actually was. and yet he gave affection to it, following Rafal's words that we were still comrades of the age.
  • "The sin of my daughter" would mean the suicide of Jolenta/the leader of the heretic and not their researches.
  • Though I didn't realize it when I see the monochrome manga, the wall half burnt down formed a big cross and it poured light over dying Nowak.
  • Draka in the light of dawn took her younger figure. She would have been freed from the spell to hate it. It would have been the last present from Schmitt.
  • So, a story of 23 episodes long was concluded. The ending scene was dripping blood and narrowing visibility. This is complete reverse of how the show started in episode 1.
  • Though the landscapes of Poland and Kingdom of P were the same in manga, but they were different in the show.

Draka's death is actually the first thing we see in the first episode...
The direction of the eye opening/cutting open something in the first scene as well as the blood dripping, in Draka's death her blood spills on the floor and her eyes closing were directed the exact same way. (From the other things I've read, this might symbolize the end of the fictional story.)

Nowak is smart, but, just like all fanatics, is blind to his own faults until it's pointed out to him by someone in authority. Even then,he only accepts these faults on death's door, and beyond. I wouldn't even call it a repentance. It's more of an acceptance. Draka finally gets to see the sunrise in a better light.

This anime every literally two episodes:

Well... this one was a punch to the face... again. It really seems ridiculous how literally every single fucking protagonist gets killed, and this time it was not only beautiful to see them die (that was superb animation), but also it finally did hit me emotionally a little bit.

Nowak realizes everything underneath the fire, and a sunrise ends it all...

I don't think there's really a doubt that this was the best episode of the series, as this pay-off was everything I could asked for, as painful as it was to watch. Nowak's last talk with Rafal really made this story go full circle, right from where things began with this whole conflict against heliocentrism. Nowak went out with no regrets, and maybe he can be with Jolenta in the afterlife, but it was such a beautiful way to finish this up. Draka as well, seeing the sunrise that she has hated so much, but smiling as she saw it in the end, that was the perfect way to end off her story as well.

Now, the epilogue begins, and admittedly, I don't have many expectations for it, but this anime has done all it's had to do for it to cement itself as likely one of, if not the best things I will see this year. Truly, a special anime for the ages.

I loved the message of this episode about the passage of time and being confined to a particular time in history.

That pained me to see Nowak to face his pain in his last moments from his convictions to his dead daughter. They say a person facing their death show their true selves and Nowak is another in a long line of examples from this show.

However, can we stop killing Main Characters from here on out?! I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!

Applause... I applaud... this episode was really great. I swear. Nowak not only killed the bishop but also burned down the church!! He also tried to kill Draka but getting stabbed then "talking" to Rafal at the moment of his death???? I'm speechless. The conversation between Rafal and Nowak was impressive, especially when Rafal said that eventually people from the past and future will see all of them in that time as people from the 15th century.... and when Nowak realized that he was the antagonist here...

The highlight was when he finally found out that Jolenta lived that long too!!! I want to cry. T___T

Now everyone is dead... but we get the final main character for the next two episodes. If we include this episode, then he only appears for three episodes... but Rafal also only appears in the first three episodes... so, will this new and final MC have as much impact as Rafal? Hopefully. Looking forward to it!

Novak acted logically, why would he betray the work of his life over the words of some guy, especially since that guy "executed" his daughter? The dialogues are once again pseudo-philosophical nonsense, added with endless pathos. These dialogues literally have no impact. The gypsy once again goes through a whole text about capitalism, and as always, everyone around just doesn't care.

Of course, in the whole city, there isn't a single person who knows what to do with a fire. The bishop was clearly hated by all the townspeople, as no one even tried to come to his aid, not even his assistant from the previous episode attempted to do anything. His assistant literally just brought him a carrier pigeon, he couldn't have gone far. The guards were told that there are heretics in the church, and they decided to all go to sleep together. Novak randomly carries a severed hand in his pocket, okay. Why does he carry it with him? Is this another JoJo reference? If it's for material evidence, they arrived in a raid on the heretics with three carts, he could have discarded it in the cart at any time.

In this universe, girls' arms stop growing at 14 years old, okay. The little glove couldn't help but fit, otherwise, the sad scene wouldn't have worked out. ๐Ÿ˜”

Oh, great, let's sit and listen about buns now.

Damn.. we lost another great main character. However, now it looks like we get into actual factual history. Being in the kingdom of Poland time skip put a smile on my face as I now realised.. we will most likely see Copernicus and Galileo which will be cool. I didn't actually think this show would go this far however, I'm pleasantly surprised. It just goes to show that you can't snuff out mankinds curiosity.. eventually, the theories and finally the truths of the questions posed by man, no matter how many times they may be shunned away or considered false.. unless they're proven wrong, humans will always try to prove them right. Its the beauty of science.

Can't wait to see next episode.

Extremely executive "dogs" of regimes will always be on the dustbin of history, because far-fetched ideas and values are easily replaced by others by the power elite for the sake of stability of power.
Too zealous followers only prevent the important uncles from holding on to power, at least remember the current reality with jingoists on both sides, unwilling to embrace peace. But peace will surely come, and they will get Novak's fate.

Even illusion Rafal is still a goat. I'm so happy we see him one final time and I can't believe his final appearance was in the OP all this time. Rafal's impact on Nowak (on us the audience as well) was so big that in his final moments he conjured up an illusion of him to talk to. Nowak, the villain you are, fucking amazing. We've been with him from beginning to end, you could say he's actually the true main character of the show, but we know who it really is and it's one orby boy.

Fuck man, I thought Draka was at least going to live long, but my God, her finally praising the sun in her final moments is peak writing, Schmidt is smiling somewhere with his beautiful mustache.

I wonder what the last 2 episodes has in store for us cause I genuinely do not know. We're not in the Kingdom of P anymore, we're in legit Poland.

Oh and well, Rest In Piss Antoni, I guess.

RIP Douraka

Who's Albert?
@Xav_015 Albert Brudzewski was a teacher in Kraków Academy (now Jagiellonian University), one of his students copernicus is recognized as the first person to propose the heliocentic theory. I guess we are getting into the history of the real world now. This show is no less than a masterpiece ong. Though I am still in denial of rafal's death.

What a powerful episode, especially Nowak's compelling final moments. Kenjirou Tsuda's performance throughout the series was great. But his work as Nowak in his final scene was mesmerizing. I was disgusted by his character. I was also deeply unsatisfied with the resolution of Jolenta's reunion, but the dialogue with Rafal wrapped his whole arc beautifully. I still hate him, everything he stood for and the lengths he went to were repulsive. That said, he was a well-written character. The contrast between how easily he stabbed Draka and how he felt Rafal's pain showcased how he finally was honest with himself. He finally acknowledged himself as a villain. I was wondering if he realized that was his daughter when he had a glance at Jolenta. I got my answer.
Of the characters carrying the word of heliocentrism, Draka was definitely my least favorite. Her last scene of coming full circle embracing Schmidt's beliefs, most likely not as her own, was mindfully gratifying.

What a gorgeous, exceptionally crafted episode.

Everything comes full circle in this episode. I loved seeing Rafal one last time!!! The fact that he considered Nowak a comrade was admirable. I’m also glad Nowak got closure with Jolenta before passing away and did one last good deed. It’s sad Draka could make it… but hopefully her knowledge has been passed down somehow.

Nowak's actions didnt make any fucking sense. There was no reason for him to kill Draka after learning the truth, yet he still did... and that's after seemingly having regret over killing other innocent people in the past, even mentioning them by name. Just... why? But I guess that's all okay because his pre-mortal state induced hallucination of Rafal accepted him for who he was.

And also what a nice guy he is for asking god for forgiveness and to accept his daughter into heaven, all just five minutes after condemning another innocent girl that seemingly had the same beliefs as your daughter to hell.

Am I the only one thats confused about the putting the hand into the glove part? They depicted it like that confirmed that the leader was Jolenta. That is a hand, not a fingerprint. It could have been literally almost anybody elses hand. Also, the hand seemed to perfectly fit the hand, but they kept emphasizing how the gloves did not fit Jolentas hands as a teen. Of course people grow. But with this in mind and him being like "hm, yes, it fits perfectly, it must have been my daughter who I was sure was dead" is pretty odd. I might have missed a detail or two but this is how I feel about that scene in particular. But Im also pretty biased, as I heavily disliked the way they robbed us of their reunion and a bit of dialogue between these two.
Aside from that, it was a magnificent episode, as per usual. Truly a fantastic show so far. In fact, its so good that Im not even worried they could butcher the finale in any way which is a big compliment in my book.

@dhfnzdn13 Well, it seems that the glove manufacturer knew in advance what size Yolenta's hands would be at 39. Yes, and in general, these were gloves that were 35 years old, which the old drunk man had been carrying in his pocket for the last 25 years. Only the author knows how they haven't fallen apart during that time.
