Hina really went all out by dropping that non-bombshell on Chinatsu about her feelings for Taiki, well even though she already knew it.

Chinatsu and Taiki are getting closer and closer, even though Chinatsu is going to live with his mother for a few months. It was funny when Chinatsu's mother talked about the protagonist of that novel, and Chinatsu identified with her and felt a bit annoyed. Also Chinatsu is not entirely unfair, as Hina knew that Taiki liked Chinatsu, but still decided to confess her feelings to her. It's ironic that after Hina's confession, Taiki and Chinatsu spent more time together.

Poor Hina, I hope she ends up with someone who reciprocates her feelings. I thought it might be Kyou, but it seems like he only empathizes with her because he went through a similar situation.

THEY HEARD ME. THEY ARE ACTUALLY GIVING KYOU MORE SCREENTIME. IS THIS SOME KIND OF DREAM?

I know this episode had a lot to unpack, but for me the best thing was the small bit that they started to explore Kyou more. For a moment, I was worried they were hinting that he liked Hina, because I thought that would be kind of lame. But thankfully it's something much more interesting, with Kyou being in love with someone that ended up with another boy, and it seems that he never was able to confess his feelings to her, unlike what Hina did. This explains why he admires Hina so much for doing that. I mean, I think we all admire Hina for being able to do that.

The episode had a lot more interactions between Chinatsu and Taiki, and they are acting normal again, WHICH I LOVE. Having them live in different places for a month is a nice change, and it's nice to see them appreciate those small encounters more!

The episode also had a lot of unspoken tension between Hina and Chinatsu, and then THAT ENDING. HINA JUST HIT CHINATSU WITH THAT. Like, wow... For real, I just hope Hina has a happy ending, she deserves the world. I wonder what Chinatsu will reply to that. It's starting to get clear she is finding the situation to be unfair to Hina, since Chinatsu is getting Taiki for herself, but doesn't really move on to show him that she's interested, and then Hina, that is ready to have a relationship with Taiki, isn't able to do so because of Chinatsu.

Can't wait for the next episode, and I feel like Blue Box is picking the pace up again, after episode 8/9! This second cour, so far, is having an amazing start! Just miss the 1st opening a lot! But this 2nd opening is indeed growing on me, let's see if I end up liking it towards the end of this cour.
@PokefanPT Kyou has his own romance subplot and love triangle.

Snow white huh. A perfect role for Hina. Window seats are always the best in class. Chinatsu's mom sure came back in a inopportune time for Taiki. Still the lines that Hina had for the play sure were rather unique. Its always a good thing to be considerate of others feelings especially in the real of romance. Taiki sure has gotten pretty dependable though. Perhaps a bit too much. Curious to see how Chinatsu would react to the news of Hina's confession.

Finally knowing the lyrics of the OP and ED hits different.

Chinatsu's mom temporarily moved back to Japan and now Chinatsu will go back to living with her for a month. That sucks. But I'm glad that Taiki and Chinatsu's relationship got better after the last episode. They're much more friendly and honest with each other now. Probably more than they were before.

Hina's gonna play Snow White in Snow White? That's great. Would've been dramatic if Taiki played the prince like Chinatsu thought lol.

Hold up. Does Kyo have feelings for Chinatsu? The fansub made it sound like he was the one who was hurt but even then I was pretty sure it probably meant "It must hurt" so he was probably thinking about Hina. Also, when Kyo was talking to Hina later a picture of another woman showed up. So maybe he doesn't have any strong feelings for Hina (for now). I wouldn't mind seeing Kyo x Hina being a thing but it needs to have the proper development.

So, Chinatsu knew that Hina had feelings for Taiki. But what does she think about about Taiki? Is she aware that he's into her? Or does she still think that Taiki's into Hina? I think a later line implied that she knows the two aren't dating yet but what does she actually think? I really wanna know. But at least something's certain after this episode, Chinatsu definitely has some feelings for Taiki. It sucks that she's not gonna go after him out of consideration for Hina. If she and Taiki were in the same year, I bet she'd be more aggressive. She probably feels some sort of responsibility due to being a year older.

Man, that cliffhanger was crazy. If Chinatsu wasn't sure before she absolutely knows now what Hina thinks of Taiki. I wonder what she's gonna say. I can't wait for the next episode.
@0451

hey,

i kinda think chinatsu thinks they are kinda together?

i mean she even said in one scene: "but they were not together at that point".

so i think she still kidna thinks that they are together, im not 100% sure to be honest. i really want to know what will happen next week and how chinatsu will react to hina

So, my guess was right that Chinatsu does not think of Taiki as a love interest. I wonder what she thinks of him? This episode is slow and a weird one at that. It seems like this is just to setup the school festival vibe. I enjoyed it but not my favourite when compared to other episodes.
@hrodebert99 how did you get that she is not interested in him? i totaly had a different feeling the whole episode.

i mean the whole scene in front of the gym where she told him that his size is perfect seriously had romantic vibes.

so how do you come to the conclusion that she is not in love with him? she kinda pretty obviously is, even if she does not want to admit it currently.

@DOMA_9 why? hina is really nice and supportive.

how can anyone hate her? its not her fault that she fell in love with taichi.

i kinda want taichi to open a harem moshuko tensei style, so both can be with him xD

i mean its pretty obvious that hina will lose this battle, but i just wish the author has another solution for her to become happy, cause i really really like her as a character.

i like chinatsu too btw.

@Wrathberry84 I always had a suspicion on how Chinatsu sees Taiki, but the bath scene confirmed it. She does not sees Taiki as a love interest, but instead as someone she wants to depend on during her hard times. This is what she said.

Snow White...that explains Hina's outfit in the last seconds of the OP.
The imagine spot Chinatsu and Taiki had about if they were in the same year was cute.
With Chinatsu's mother back in Japan, Taiki and Chinatsu's living arrangements are no more; he won't be seeing her every morning but they don't have to hide anything at least.
The first complication has arisen though; Chinatsu wasn't there early at the gymnasium so Taiki goes running with his senpai. Fortunately, they clear up the misunderstanding; Chinatsu had gotten on the wrong train.
Taiki wanted to see Chinatsu as a maid and she thought he'd be the prince in his classes' play.
Chinatsu had already felt like she was getting in between Taiki and Hina before. She has cleared up the fireworks display situation but watching that drama with her mother on TV made her feel like the bad one at bath time. Now Hina tells the truth as Chinatsu was photocopying.

God, Hina has been getting so aggressive and it’s made this show that much better. Chinatsu overheard them and it made her start to make some moves by asking Taiki to spend time with her, and now Hina is just walking up to her and telling Chinatsu about her business 😭

Damn, Hina is bold with her straight up telling Chinatsu that she confessed to Taiki. I wonder how Chinatsu will react because it's obvious that she has feelings for him too but she doesn't seem as bold as Hina so I think she'll say something like "I see" and walk out. Hopefully I'm wrong though as I'd like to see Chinatsu be more assertive herself.

Oops, Chinatsu just lost her significant advantage over Hina with her living situation with Taiki lol, I know the seeds of love have been planted and the two are closer than ever which was evident from the missed connection during morning practice, but this is still a positive for Hina. I definitely appreciate the effort to make the race more interesting, but of course I still don’t see a future where Taiki doesn’t end up with Chinatsu lol, it’s sad but the greatness of Taiki and Chinatsu’s relationship does make it hurt less, I really loved the fantasy of the two of them being in the same class in this episode.

But there’s a possibility Kyou, aka the god’s eye of the show, is being set up as a potential option for Hina with the reveal he had a crush but said crush got a boyfriend, there hasn’t been much romantic development between the two of them but I can easily see it happening, and I guess this would also cushion the blow of her eventual loss (I’m not a manga reader for the record, this just seems like the course we’re set on lol), I think they’d make a nice couple if it were to happen. And lastly, damn they really ended it on Hina confronting Chinatsu, they’re making it real tempting to go ahead and hit the newest episode but I’ll probably continue to wait as always lol.

Chinatsu is moving out, at least temporarily so Taiki's interactions with her would seemingly diminish as a result. However we ended up seeing more of them both in school imagining what it would be for them to be in the class and in practice while he was giving advise to a middle schooler. But that wasn't the big highlight of the episode, was it? It was Chono telling her at the very end what she told Taiki, taking her by surprise. I wonder how she'll take it.

Another solid episode. I like seeing how close Inomata & Chinatsu are with each other. Definitely showcased a lot through this episode and was much appreciated to see. Clearly Taiki misses seeing Chinatsu under the same roof since to him, she is his meaning/ definition of “good morning”

It’ll probably be a good bit for them to admit their true feelings to each other and officially be together. Sorry Chouno, but Chinatsu has my support.

It's not often that I love both girls fighting for the MC's feelings in an anime. Both Chinatsu and Hina are great.

But I gotta say I really admire Hina because she shows no fear and she's facing things head on.

But the interactions between Chinatsu and Taiki this episode were really cute ^^

Chibi Hina is so cute I love the design of her little form man :D

Chinatsu calling Taiki, Inomata-senpai on purpose was so jokes but I found it funny bc it looked so off for her to be calling bro senpai when she’s older than him and she has never up to this point ever called Taiki senpai ever, Chinatsu may be quiet but she’s funny when she wants to be funny🤣

Taiki admitting that there's clear boundaries drawn between him and Chinatsu, that's at least progress.

The culture festival with Hina being Snow White and Taiki being class rep to handle all the matters, Kyo knows everything, yet just sees it as his own that Hina would emotionally hurt herself sooner or later. If only Taiki or Chinatsu would've been born the year before/after and/or skipped grades, their interests aligned, and that makes their interactions click. But a sudden visit by Chinatsu's mother to have her own daughter stay with her for the month's worth of time being for their grandfather's surgery, they technically still can meet in school. Other than the monster of Haryu forcing Taiki for morning exercise, it's by chance for both of them to meet, but that does not guarantee that he'll see her every time.

This time, it's clear that Chinatsu is missing Taiki as her month out at the rented apartment is causing her to miss him by chance, and as much as Hina is doing her best for the Snow White recital play, the romance drama is clearly catching up to Chinatsu no thanks to her mother, and she feels the pinch. It's the same for Taiki having to juggle between badminton and the culture festival, as he feels Chinatsu ever closer to him.

Kyo trying to provide his opinion on Hina not giving up her feelings for Taiki, it's both a blessing and a curse, and what a timing to declare war on Chinatsu for the feelings she had for him.

i can't help but root for hina even though i feel like she's definitely the losing girl in this, i mean she has all the traits- short hairs, pink hair, childhood friend. some people may not like her for what she's doing but i think she's the only one who's taking active steps in pursuing her love interest unlike chiinatsu who is our typical unsure heroine. hina's character is also our typical childhood friend falling in love character but she's definitely different from all the others we see in other animes. she isn't backing out and is making herself clear. i really like how mentally tough she is. as an empath i can understand how she must be feeling being in her situation. she really wants to be seen as a love interest instead of a friend with whom taiki can have dumb fun. confessing knowing taiki loves someone else and also telling that to chiinatsu to her face can be called a dirty move by some people but hina has my respect for what she's doing. she's not actively trying to hurt or ruin taiki's chances with chiinatsu, she's just trying to put herself into the whole picture and she has every right to. hina is my favourite for winning for now unless chiinatsu gets some really good developments. we still have plenty of episodes to go so who knows.

excellent developments till now. really enjoying it. an easy 9/10 by how this is going.

I re-watched this episode after putting the show on hold for 8 weeks. Coming back, nothing in this episode looked familiar. I did remember Hina dropping that bombshell on Chinatsu, but even then, I couldn't remember why it happened, where, in what context, etc.

It's like I absorb an episode through my eyeballs and then it immediately evaporates from my brain.

The show is just so bland and... boring. And I really didn't want to use that word.

All these conversations that are extremely inane and mannered and where nothing of interest is said. "Oh, you're going to stay with your mom?" "Why, yes, I am!" "Oh, cool, have fun." Ordinary conversations can have impact and meaning behind them, yes, but I don't see any here, or at least it's just so obvious: Taiki is disappointed but trying to accept the situation.

It's always like this, scene after scene... Even the more dramatic and emotional moments feel so colorless, tasteless and sanded down. I know it's a weird thing to say when the art is so colorful. The voice-acting as well; it's like everyone's trying to sound as pleasant as possible and clearly pronounce words, and nothing else.

I don't know why this show has that effect on me, but it's just so frustrating, especially when I was looking forward to this and wanted to like it. I thought about sticking with it since I'm 2/3 of the way through, but then it occurred to me: I probably won't remember any of it in a week. Dropped.

I really wish I had a friend like Kyo! In the last episode, he understood how things were unfolding, and in this one, he acted like a shield for Taiki’s friend. He really knows everyone around him and is someone you can rely on, like an older brother or a close friend.

Chinatsu’s move brought more freedom to their relationship, and I think it helped it grow. Even after Hina confessed to Chinatsu in the final scene, I don't think it negatively affected anything. Chinatsu is naturally calm and composed, unlike Hina, who’s cheerful and bold. Both tend to bottle up their feelings, but in very different ways.

I don't feel like writing much, I want to watch episode 17 now. See you in the comments!

A new term, so back to school. Chinatsu's grandfather is in the hospital, so her mom came back for a month. Now Chinatsu's staying with her, and it seems like she and Taiki are missing each other, though they won't say it. Taiki is now class rep and his class is doing a Snow White play for the festival with Hina as Snow White. Chinatsu's class is doing a cafe. Throughout this episode, there are chance meetings between Taiki and Chinatsu, and at the end, Hina runs into Chinatsu and tells her that she told Taiki she likes him. And that's where it ended. Cliffhanger!

One step forward, one step back? I wonder how this is going to go. Chinatsu is possibly having regrets, but now that Hina has told her, this is going to be interesting. What is Hina doing?
