Finished the last episode.

I'm really mad, never a betrayal hit me this hard, thought the memes about her were just that memes, that woman can die in the worst way possible, I get the jealousy got the worst of her but Bam really didn't deserved that.
The only plus she has is that is voiced by my favourite seiyuu.

Seriously my head hurts and I never felt this furious need to read the webtoon to know how this will develop from now on.

I would recommend to read from start as anime skipped many details and foreshadowing.

Art is not good in first season but it will it keeps on improving and s2 art is good and after mid s2 art is top tier.

It's funny because I can sympathize with Rachel, I'm fed up too with everyone being obsessed with Bam just because he's the protagonist.
Jokes aside, despite this show being a total mess Rachel's story wasn't bad at all.

Wow!! What an annoying story and characters! I want to slap Rachel's face. The story is boring, all I want to know is what's on top of the tower that makes them so obsessed with it. Can someone spoil me because I don't want to waste more time to know what's in there. I like Khun and Hatz but Bam is so boring, doesn't have personality and the heroine is crazy! How I hate her. 5/10

I'm surpised I enjoyed this show, looking forwrd to future seasons if they ever get made. Like someone mentioned above I also kinda sympathize with Rachel's situation with everybody's obsession with Bam (which logically made sense for them) and she sucking at life. Also really did loved all the characters, their designs and potentially interesting back-stories. Only con for this show to me was that they didn't show how was their previous life before the selection, did they live in a town with people? or in a cave? wish they showed at the beginning the outside world before entering the trials that where on the Tower of God grounds. very good show in the end and a re-watchable ride too.

Since it's already was given in anime(not in detailed manner though) , I will answer your question without spoiling anything (somme infos are given by author himself)

Except Bam and Rachel every other test candidates were regulars. Every regular is born in tower (outer tower to be exact) and they all live in outer tower( outer tower and outside of tower are different places) before becoming regular. Headon picks people from outside tower to climb the tower and those people starts climbing tower from 2nd floor (floor of test, where all events of season 1 of anime took place. Bam first test was done in first floor) and are called regulars.

In case of Bam, he is an irregular( from outside of tower) . Irregulars are those who forced their way in tower themselves and are not picked by Headon. So whatever that cave was(where Bam was before entering tower) , it was outside of tower.

Now, about tower. Tower shouldn't be judged based on word tower! . It's massive!.
According to author Each floor in tower is of size of Entire North America. And there are 100+ floor atleast (so tower is a world itself on its own) . Each floor is divided into 3 parts - outer, middle and inner. Inner tower is where regulars climb the tower.

All regulars live in town(each outer floor has various species living there . There are many countries in each floor's outer tower.

Seeing Rachel's side makes me realise she really was one shallow jealous bitch for choosing to become special over kind-hearted Bam's life. Hoh was a real bro after all...and Khun is one too for seeing through her unlike the others.

This season of Kame no Tou (tower of turtle) which felt like a prologue was good, kinda wished Bam fought more on his own since he only had three moments where he protected Rachel. Looking forward to his growth (since he didn't really have any) in a possible next season.

Here we go, my opinion as a manhwa reader. A bit late to the party but whatever.

To begin with, I have to say that unlike the majority of readers, I consider the original to be a masterpiece from beginning to end (if you consider the workshop battle the end, anyway). You won’t get “it starts okayish but gets better later on” from me.

Now, I understand that it’s not easy to adapt such an amount of work in 13 chapters, I get it. From what I have read, SIU’s involvement with this was minimal, too, which does not help. Stil, it does not excuse this show for being the unwatchable mess that it is.

What is the problem with this adaptation, then? The problem is that it fails miserably at everything it does. There is no passion, no love, no ambition to tell a good story. There was never a desire to understand the source material as the team behind this just didn’t care. Don’t let them fool you, this is not Tower Of God.

Specifying:

1. Scene changes. They changed almost every scene as they see fit, without any valid reason, leaving people confused (again, we cannot use the time constraints card here). You can leave mysteries unexplained so that people can keep looking forward to the next chapter/episode, like the original does but you can’t leave them unable to understand anything at all, like they did here. They took the “oomph” out of every scene, too: no “Please die, Baam”, no “Because I am afraid of the night (Baam)”. Jesus Christ.

2. Character changes. They did it. They actually did it. They managed to make me hate all the characters that I used to love. Everyone is so out of character it makes me cringe. They tried to push the Nakama thing too faar, too. Friendships were formed during the time they spent in the floor of test but some people, like Anaak, didn’t actually care all that much about Baam, or “climbing together”. Also, Khun, my man, what did they do to you? They transmuted him into a damn yandere who is thirsty for Baam and made him do stupid things like antagonizing Rachel from the beginning or warning Baam against her. Khun is way smarter than this, actually. He knows better than to ass meddle into a situation he clearly knows nothing about and was actually never hostile to Rachel when they first met. Later on, when he has a motive to be hostile to her, he is still smarter than taunting her with childish comments that would make Rachel (who’s actually not stupid) realize that he’s onto her. Ha-ha. 2/10.

I am going to have to join the people recommending the original (rough art style at the beginning, though). Also, for those saying how crazy the fans are for “overhyping” this, keep in mind that what we were hyping was in fact the original work, not the anime adaptation. That criticism would only be valid if the adaptation was even remotely faithful to the original, which is not. Even “most helpful” reviewers fail to realize this. Eww.

Have a nice day.

That bitch is literally a sociopath. She deserves a horrible, extended, painful, ruthless death. And I'd definitely watch season 2 if that were part of the plot. But it won't be! We all know it won't. Because black turtle is an altruistic dumbass with no personally that will forgive her, defend her, and try to turn her "good". Pfft.

I don't understand wtf is going on at all like this show. Nothing about the world is explained. I get this group is trying to climb a tower. I get sociopath bitch betrayed him. Other than that...

This series started out strong. I had it at an 8/10 after the first several episodes. But then during that multi-episode "game of tag" arc it went south, dropping to a 6/10 for me. And that's where it remained the rest of the way.

I really don't know if I'd watch season 2. I'm on the fence. Guess we'll see how I feel about it in a year or two (if a season 2 ever comes out?).

If you want to watch a show about an animal/boy (a "monkey" instead of a "turtle" haha) who's lost their memories, was trapped in a cave, and that's actually GOOD, then watch the Saiyuki series.

I went into this completely blind, and without knowing anything about the webtoon. I agree there are issues with this anime, and it does feel rushed, but overall I liked it. I fking hate Rachel, and I hope she dies a slow miserable death, but that's what makes her a great character. Lero Ro is also a really good character, and I can't wait to watch him climb the tower again. My favorite character would have to be Phonsekal Laure. Idk why, but he just cracked me up every time. I really want to know about Bam back story. I feel like this isn't his first trip to the tower. Why was he found by Rachel in some dark cave? I'll watch the second season for sure.

This anime had a lot of potential but it was way too rushed, 6/10 from me.

And I fucking hate Rachel, that Bitch can die the worst possible way!

I Will for sure watch a season 2 just because I want to see Rachel die.

Not sure why this show hasn't at least got an 8/10 rating.

Solid plot although quite fast paced, even for someone like me who is just an anime watcher. Thinking of going and reading the webtoon. It will be intriguing to see the bits they skipped out on.
Love the music and the art style is really refreshing.
I love the world building. It really adds to a story.

Rachel is heartless but nothing like having a good backstabber plot twist.

Kinda sad that they all think he's dead now though.

It goes into spoiler.
But you can notice that Hansung & Hwaryun's real plan was to separate Bam from rest and make everyone believe that Bam is dead.

Hansung was playing 3d chess from start(even Headon was manipulating Bam & Rachel) and it looks like all go as they planned

it would be better if rachel didn't betray bam here (stupid move from her), he would be an useful ally to have when climbing the tower.

Good conclusion overall, I like the re-usage of some scenes to mix with Rachel's perspective on why she wanted to climb the tower, give more of an insight to her real nature and personality beyond the mask and understand what was the breaking point for her to betray Bam and have him dead. It's a mix of original stuff with the canon ending for season 1 but I liked this sort of conclusion and the tease of JVG soon.

Overall, Tower of God is a good show after the rewatch. Even with the messy directing due to trying to fit everything in 13 episodes, I loved the characters, the story beyond the pacing issues and minor changes, the visuals that were really consistent and looked very refreshing and interesting, the awesome Kevin Penkin soundtrack and a good dub, and a lot of other little things about it. I understand the negative aura about Tower of God when it comes to the anime fandom and even the webtoon fans to a degree, given the amount of hype it had. The reason this show's looked with disdain over the tons of reviews and the forum comments is due to the amount of attention the webtoon produced and how everyone expected so much from a 1 cour adaptation from this season, including me too given how the webtoon's one of my favorite stories overall, even now. It didn't live up to the bill, it wasn't a 9 or a 10/10 and the pacing made it difficult for some people to swallow and failed to make them understand why Tower of God is so well received, respected and raved on beforehand. But when I watched this as a regular show shedding the expectations and the hype around it and even the love for the webtoon and put it aside, I got a good show that kept me entertained for its entire duration and a positive experience overall. Given the very slim number of anime I liked this year as a whole, a flawed Tower of God adaptation was still one of those few that I would give a thumbs up for. The season had 9-10/10 potential if done right, and it turned out to be a 7 in the end. A disappointment but at the same time, a show still good enough for me to like so I won't let the fact that it could have been even better ruin my time with it. The way Crunchyroll have handled WEBTOON anime is a definite mistake so far, but at least when looking at the show itself, Tower of God is a good one. Hopefully if a part of season 2 is ever done in the future (since season 2 is so damn long), the anime can slow a bit down with the pacing a bit.

I've finally finished Tower of God and Gleipnir, FUXKING FINALLY!!! After 8 months of waiting, adjusting and trying to watch, I have finally done it and now I have finished it. Tower of God was the first anime that I've put on my PTW list because back then it was the advent of the Spring 2020 season. At that point, ToG and Gleipnir caught my interest and that's where the story of my MAL account begin to be.

Anyways in this final episode, we see Rachel's thoughts and motives during her whole time in the Tests. How's death, Androssi's suspicions, the Director's ulterior motives, it all came to pieces now. And seeing how even Rachel warned Bam over and over in those final flashback moments, Bam just never came to sense and always sticked his mind to her. The jealousy, the envy, the rage, and folks I don't know about you but I actually like how Rachel came to be. Never mind the "bitch" tag on her, Nani was more worse but her character's metamorphosis from an aspiring brat to a total hollow being was so satisfying.

Even the whole team didn't acknowledge immediately that Bam died and only Rachel survived. Heck, even Lero Ro and the redhead quits their post in search of the truth. And at the very end, we see Hwaryun meeting Bam as he wakes up from the fall. I love that Bam after the whole season finally came to his goddamn senses and will train to climb the tower in his own terms. And seeing that split-second shot of him having a long hair and AT THE TOP makes me more excited for how things will go. Now I'm just waiting for that 2nd season or kicking my own ass to read the Webtoon. Rachel (and Khun) will now lead the whole crew on climbing the tower. While Bam will spend some time with Hwaryun at the bottom.

As for my score, tbh Bam was the most hollow "protagonist" of any anime series I've watched in a long while. Khun and other side characters carried this show, and I think Bam will only be impressive by the second season. And since the whole anime was shaky from start to finish makes me want to give it a 6/10. But to hell with it, the OP is great, art looks very nice and the twist with Rachel made me bump it up to 7/10.

What a nice ride. And finally the moment I've long been waiting for has passed. Thank goodness that along with Gleipnir, the anime that started it all for me, I have finally watched it!

Damn, Rachel is the type of woman who finds stepping stones to reach the top and Bam is the ultimate simp haha Well, I do understand Rachel's reasoning since if I have the chance to gain vast power, I'd sacrifice everything as well.

Wow, is that time skip Bam at the end?

Anyway, over all the anime is good. Pacing was really nice. However, its too damn short and I feel like there's a lot of missing details. If this was 24 eps and was fleshed out I would've given it a 9. 8/10

Not sure how I feel about this anime. It was definitely not the strongest show, but still enjoyable.

The biggest problem I have with this show is how Bam, and how one-dimensional, generic of a character he is. Just the good and loving character that gets along with the crew that only has one goal. He has no personality and doesn't develop as a character.

On the flip side, Kevin Penkin did an amazing job (this is the first anime I've heard his work from). Looking forward to Made in Abyss.

Overall, it's between a 4-6 out of 10.

When I first started the series I wasn't too interested. The first episode was okay but after watching the second episode I decided to continue. And I'm glad that I made that decision.

Throughout the series the main objective for Bam was to reunite himself with Rachel. In order to do this he decided to climb the tower. Yuri Jahad decided to lend him her Black March, which happened to repsond to Bam when he asked for her power. Turns out that she only responds to attractive men.

The major plot twist that goes on is that Rachel is on a team with Endorsi Jahad, one of the Jahad princesses. I honestly thought the series would take a second season to get to this point, but overall Tower of God has stuff happen in such an unpredictable fashion.

For this specific episode it's revealed that Rachel couldn't actually climb the tower because she was too weak and the only way that she could get to the top would be to kill Bam. I honestly thought that the two were close to one another and I'm surprised she willingly went along with this plan. Why is Rachel so desperate to see the stars that she's more than willing to sacrifice someone as loyal and kind as Bam to get there?

Will Bam be able to reunite with the friends that he's made? I guess we'll have to see in the next season (assuming there will be one).

Overall I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Bam is kind of a putz with no character right now, and his character type is usually something I hate. However since he has limited memories I can totally buy into that (irritatingly) naive, "goody-good" personality of his, and I'm interested to see where his character goes from here. I realIy liked most of the side characters (Endorsi best girl) and story themes. I also liked the art style and OST.

Of course it still has some ham-fisted plot moments. And the world building and background lore could have been better. But I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens going forward.

I'll give it a 6 or 7. I'm off to read the source material now.

All I feel at this point is rage. Series ended with Rachel still being alive and Bam even after waking up after Rachel pushed him off to kill him, he wants to seek the answers to everything that has happened. What fucking answer? Rachel is a fucking back stabbing bitch how he is so blind to not see that fucking hell. Also Khun is a real one for seeing through everyones fake fronts and lies.

Without this episode, I wouldn't appreciate the time I put into watching this show. It might not be the greatest plot twist or reveal but it was good and it did defines what was this season was all about. It is one of the most beautiful prologue I have ever watch and the final episode made it clear like the elephant in the room. it definitely needs a follow-up/continuation to shine this season of the anime.

The adaptation may have been rushed but i didn't deslike it as someone who already had read the manhwa in the past.
I wish they would have handled it better and gave it more episodes but it is what it is.
I consider this as a simple bonus as of now to see what tog would have been if animated.

Well, this explains everything. So everything with Rachel was revealed. She wasn't even worthy of climbing the tower from the very beginning. She seems really twisted, but it looks like she was used by Headon and Hansung to get rid of Bam. Bam's still alive so that means the story's not over yet. The ending here seems to raise the question of what's at the top of the tower. I'm so curious now...

Jealousy really is an ugly thing, and not all protagonists are good. Rachel has probably been looking down on Baam since the first time she saw him. Well, I’m sure the Tower’s got something for her ass because it’s obvious that Rachel’s being setup and used, but she’s too stupid and desperate to see that. She tried to kill the one that’s meant to be her savior. She’s definitely gonna pay for that shit.

I’m so glad Kuun saw through all of Rachel’s bullshit!

This adaptation might've been all over the place but it was an exciting watch! All in all it did its job -- ended up binging a few hundred chapters of the webtoon as soon as I finished watching. The Rachel hate is pretty justified but she does make for an interesting character!

It's one silly reason after another. This Rachel gets on my nerves. Please don't make a new season of this. They spent the entire last episode to "explain" Rachel's motives, and it still doesn't make sense.

so all of this is for Bam to train himself to be stronger? looking at this episode, the administrator are on Bam side all along, including the Ranker.

I hope we get to see stronger Bam on Season 2.
