Imo, the ideas are all there, but it wasn't built up the right way.

Either way, to me, Oshi no Ko stood out the most when it showed the messed up parts of the entertainment industry, not the whole revenge/reincarnation situation. That includes shipping wars.

Not a great ending, but I'll have a fond memory of this story regardless.

I remember very fondly how I binge read this manga and how this was one of my favorites for a while, but slowly but surely, chapter after chapter after the scandal arc this just got worse and worse... I wondered why, and I remember who made this manga, Aka. Really thought about it for a second, has this dude cooked on a final arc once???? Kaguya was saved by the final chapter, Renai Daikou was just.... and Instant Bullet just never got an ending lol.

And now Oshi no Ko.. These past chapters have just been, yikers. Ever since the movie arc started, there's been a big difference when it comes to this manga. From wasted character development, to wasted characters in general, and this whole thing with Aqua and Hikaru.... god. But yeah, do wanna ask, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF CROW GIRL??? And this shitty ass ending, everything goes on!.... sigh. Incest would of been better than this

Everything till the movie arc was fine. Dunno what possesed Aka but he made a complete mess at the end. Very cheap rushed mess and poorly executed. Didn't feel a thing. Guess he just wanted to get it over with. Don't think I'll ever read anything by him again.

Final score I never got over Ai/10. Forever Ai's fan.

It's not the end I wanted.I still feel bad for Ruby, Kana & Aqua himself.Especially after hints of happy end before the incident.
I really wanted to see Aqua's dreams come true, Kana's confession and Ruby's life with Aqua after the revenge ends.I really loved this manga and all characters without exception.So I'm really disappointed with this end. But we can't change anything
My rate for Oshi no ko is 8/10 but it would be 10/10 if it was a happy end.

Ruby at the end of the page... honestly wow. It feels empty now that it's over in a very wasted way. So no one wins Aqua at the end of the day, what a move Aka. The last few chapters were honestly hard to get through (I def sacrifice like 1-2 hours right now to binge this xD), and it just ended like that. While I much preferred Kaguya-sama, both series struggled with their final arcs. On the positive side of this series, I had a great time reading the earlier parts, and I’m glad the anime did justice to the second season. Akane and Kana both deserved better, and maybe if it had been written differently, they could have been one of my all-time favorites.. after all, they’re the main reason I stuck with the series to the end, haha. Sorry couldn't careless about the revenge story. I doubt I'll continue with Aka's next work now that I experienced his direction thus far.

I gotta admit, glad Ruby is OK. But the ending made this entire manga from 10 to 9 lol.

Edit: Apparently there'll be a spin-off Light Novel about the 'fate' of Akane and Kana. It's far from over guys, at least for the anime adaptation (I'm coping)!

So this is the end? Tragic to say the least. I feel so bad for ruby and aqua. Also why would you develop kana as a main love interest if she doesn't even get to confess?.... Also akane got the short end of the stick IMO. She tried literally everything for the man she loved. In the end she got the burden of carrying this tragedy for the rest of her life. Aqua really fumbled really everything at the end. This thing started with one massive tragedy and ended with another

There are so many people crying and bitching because a series that was always about tragedy and lies ended in tragedy and lies lol. Everyone and everything doesn't always get a happy ending people

The themes are in tact and every character realistically and narratively truthfully ended up how they should end up.

Spoilers for Vinland Saga in this post.

I just thought of this but Aqua's character reminds me of a poorly written Thorfinn from Vinland Saga. Both characters start out as children who're living happily with their families, until one of their family members dies and they swear revenge on their killers. In Thorfinn's case, the revenge he spent his whole life striving for was taken from him by another, while Aqua managed to get his revenge himself, but ultimately killed himself in the process. The big difference is, while Thorfinn got some great character development in the next arc, while Aqua got very minimal character development at all. At the start of the story, Aqua wants revenge, at the end of the story, Aqua still wants revenge. The only difference is his motivations change. Instead of wanting revenge for Ai, now he wants to protect Ruby and her image as an idol. The funniest part about it is Aqua still decides to off himself along with Hikaru and believes Ruby will be fine on her own, which I don't believe in the slightest but this final chapter will most definitely have Ruby immediately getting over Aquas death for the sake of ending the story as quickly as possible. Anyway, I hate how Aqua was developed as a character and I hate how he went out like he couldn't think of a better way to kill Hikaru. The best thing a fucking DOCTOR could come up with is to kill himself, good shit Aqua.

I'm gonna go off on a tangent here but Hikaru was also a terribly written villain. The story built him up as this mastermind psychopath who was killing idols for seemingly no reason. Then we find out that Hikaru is actually misunderstood and just wanted Ai to love him, but she decided to leave him without as much of a word, and that's why Hikaru "accidentally" sent a known killer to her house. But THEN Hikaru is actually just a psychopath so that whole video about Ai wanting Aqua and Ruby to help him was a complete waste. Like Holy Mother of Jesus the plot twisted 360 degrees and ended up right where it started with this guy. I felt nothing when Hikaru died, not because he was a piece of shit, but because he was written so terribly.

I want to say this: just because the ending fits the narrative, doesn't mean it's a good ending. This ending is like the equivalent of Thorfinn killing Askeladd and then offing himself, all that potential character development down the drain. And while Thorfinn killing himself would stick with one of the narratives of the story (that being revenge) and the quote that everyone keeps bringing up, "he who seeks revenge digs two graves," it would completely undermine everything Thorfinn could've been. But instead of Thorfinn killing himself, we got some of the best character development in all of anime and manga instead of Thorfinn's demise which would've just ended the story.

I honestly think Akasaka should have just taken the Thorfinn route for this ending, because I honestly hate how he decided to end it. Some people think this is a good ending, and while I completely disagree with those people entirely, I'm at least glad someone got an ending they liked. But I'm gonna be honest, JJK and MHA's ending is better, and that's saying something.

What an ending I guess?? I wanted this ending but somehow it left a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe it wasn't executed properly thats why it feels like its ass but then again, Oshi No Ko is a storya bout tragedy and it will always be one.

Ik yall are saying how ass the ending is trust me been there done that but let's not forget how good Oshi no Ko was in its prime. For that, 9/10.

At the end of the day, we all love watching trash.
