The opening scene was amazing, the main theme is one of the best I've heard, animation was supreme, the color play in the rehearsal was immaculate. I've genuinely got no complaints. Oshi no Ko is so back!

I totally love the changes the anime did.
Also the transition from "zenbun" to the ending song was phenomenal.

Another season, another great opening episode.

The set of first scene was great(before the op). Finally the tokyo blade arc begins. Kana got a legendary rival Himekawa one of the prodigy of Lala Lai. Akane also won't step back as she's goin' with her own flow. As usual Aqua gettin' into actin' industry for the sake of gettin' close to Ai's truth. Not great but a decent 1st ep. The op is also great definitely matches the vibes of whatz gonna be happenin' in this season. As the fanatic author asks to revise the whole goddamn script a turmoil gonna be seen lmao. Very much lookin' forward to Akane's performance on the stage

I think I fell in love again. I haven't read this arc in the manga for a year, so I barely remember anything, but I can tell that Doga Koba took some GREAT ADDITIONS with it. The beginning literally made me feel like I was watching a movie. I am SO PYSCHED FOR THIS SEASON. Also the opening and endings are great!

everything was good overall expect the ending song didn't loved it but was really good, the story is maintain its hype and how it show the behind the scene of entertainment industry,
the reuse of characters is really good like from sweet days shows actor and that author
Akane is getting her own charm pumped up rather then just imitating Ai. That's it from me just the ending didn't clicked like the last season

Great first episode! The direction was a bit..loosey at times tho. You could tell they really wanted the shocking ending so they squeezed alot in but I truly hope the skipped content is going to be animated at some point. Sadly, you could feel that there was something missing. Overall tho i enjoyed it.

It was OK - slow-burner presents new cast and vibes. For nice surprise - little stars in Akane eyes - I hope we will see her growth even more in this season.

Christ, the animation.... Some scenes have such a smooth sakuga. The sakuga in this EP is so much better than in the 1st season. Hope they can keep this up.

That was super hot fire.

The OP and ED hit again. Almost as if that was a guarantee with this series. No misses on the music front. I just love how this show looks and feels. It's only been one episode, but I really feel like we are so back.

After only a little over a year since the first Season came out, Oshi no Ko is back! It's kinda crazy how fast the 2nd Season came out. This feels pretty rare for popular anime. I'm still waiting for a new season of Kaguya-sama. It feels like they completely forgot about it in favor of Oshi no Ko...

Anyway, the OP was good. But it's no YOASOBI's Idol. OP1 just hits differently. But I think I'll get used to the 2nd OP eventually. Unsure about the ED tho.

I was never into Japanese stage plays and likely won't be even after finishing this arc. I just don't see the appeal. And just like how it was discussed in this episode, these plays often butcher the source material which is something I don't want to see being done to any beloved works.

At the beginning of the episode, I wasn't too thrilled about how different everything felt compared to Season 1. But by the end, it clicked. The arc actually seems interesting. The author of the Tokyo Blade manga coming out and asking for a rewrite of the whole script is wild. I wonder what's gonna happen lol. And I really wonder if the entire 13 episodes of the season will be dedicated to this arc? Probably not. Can't wait for the next episode.

It's back, Oshi no ko is back, I'm very intrigued by what will happen later on, but the fact that the author asked the scriptwriter to review the script, I already saw it coming XD

P.S. The opening is very good.

OSHI NO KO Season 2

In season 1 we witness Arima Kana's Idol performance. Now in season 2, it's time to witness her stage show acting performance.

KANA ARIMA is back to acting

My God, even in the rehearsal Kana's acting was on another level with her voice and expression, not to mention the colourful background.

Everyone else was stunned by their rehearsal performance, myself included. Can't wait for the stage drama to happen.

The 2nd season started of nicely. Some parts were skipped on i guess but still all good.

We get to see the introduction of the new movie tokyo blade and new characters as well. Rubys recap/internal monologue while visiting AI's grave was a nice touch. She relates everything that has been going with aqua and her own idol group which is growing slowly. Love how she calls him "Trash and an enemy of all girls" xD but also promises to ai she will one day try to be on the same stage as her. Sweet and symbolic.

Then we get to the rehearsals where aqua and akane discuss the movie plot and direction, while aqua in reality his motive is to get close to the lala lai director for AI's mystery of course. Also akane activating her star eyes on spot was cool and also loving the long hair akane really pretty.

The directors are analyzing and discussing the actors especially kana and akane with their personal styles. While the producer thinks kana will be outshined but director contradicts that this will be not the case since she wont be held back like last time cause of a new amazing talented actor who is also the protag in the film Taiki Himekawa. Bro doesnt look like 30 i swear not even close to 19 lol but hes phenomenal in acting thats for sure. The scene with both him and kana going all out and painting everyone with their energy and acting talents was just chefs kiss and impressed everyone and even got the producer jaw dropped. Love to see Kana showing her real prowess and even akane notices that while taking notes and even aqua is observing and studying them. No one wants to be outshined
Info on how theatre members work with their daily lives and other jobs was also given which is a bonus
Aqua has also noticed how kanas work was affected due to her peers and tells akane she needs to work hard if she doesnt want to lose which makes akane give one of the cutest pouts. adorable but surprisingly aqua knows he cant win in acting department even though he has the talent but hes being realistic i suppose.

I like how akane interprets her character which actually is kinda similar to her and kanas character & personality as well. But her in depth analysis of source material to movie portrayal was to the point how at times characters arent given justice in their roles. But even the script writer said that they have to careful while inputting the character while balancing out the other aspects as well and it is not easy to rework the script even though they themselves feel conflicted with the writing.

Finally we see the author of sweet today back, she has quite the bonding with kana and aqua too after their work in the series but melt gets the cold shoulder no shocker after that performance of his. lol The tokyo blade author is adorable i love shes shy but also enthustiastic & passionate seeing the actors play her story out.

But she also showed a fearless side of her when she asks to change the entire script which came as a surprise to everyone also that shift in her voice at the end was too good.

Anyways great start again and lot of promising future plot progression especially with Aqua investigating his main quest. Also Seeing the visuals in the ED i am guessing Ruby is gonna have a part this season with her own internal struggles.

The OP was amazing with the visual but the expectations from previous opener from yaosobi has set the bar really high i guess and same goes for the ED which a nice and calm vibe but makes me miss something which mephisto had last season whenever an episode ended it gave that excitement at the end. But still like both OP and ED, which may grow on me as the season progresses. Doga kobo still keeping up the amazing art style and animations with the background osts which i am glad to see.

Despite Akane having more screentime, Kana was a real MVP of this episode, especially with her acting scene with Taiki. I really loved that part, both vocally and visually. Also, Ayaneru's voice really fits Abiko's character. I'm looking forward to her acting as well.

We are so fucking back.

The Greatest Anime ever is back. (imo)

Aqua is back to grace his presence. Kana is back and great as ever she blown out that scene with Himekawa. Finally Kana will show what she is made off.
Akane is not gonna give up and also determined to make Sayani Hime better. That "losing heroine" tag is already giving me red flags, I like Kana more but still gonna feel bad for her if/when happens. Her Pout was best moment easily though so good to see her again. And return of star eyes too..

I hope Aqua will be more confident and give Himekawa more of a fight. Melt is back and he has improved.

The mangaka of Sweet Today was back she was rightfully cold to Melt after her abomination of acting. And the mangaka of Tokyo Blade was Abiko made her appearance.Casually rolled up and saying to change the script, full props to her.

It was as good a start expected from Oshi No Ko animation still godly & voice acting still top to boot.

According to manga readers this arc is supposed to be best if they can already masterpiece that was first season we are here for a ride.

Wednesday are going to fantastic for next 3 months.

The new OP was great nothing can top Idol but it was visually stunning. Showing Ruby and Aqua struggles and past. Ai performing while her kids, Miyako and Gonda watching. Tokyo Blade actors, Kana-Akane and specially last cut with Ai , goosebumps.

ED is also good again but a downgrade from Maphisto. More focus on Ruby maybe she has arc in later half.

Maybe these will grow on me as I hear it more but still good first impression.

Can't wait for ep2 already

Honestly, Season 2 of Oshi no Ko's start wasn't nearly as compelling as one might wish, being a literal continuation from s1, without much of a big start, like it was just the following episode to the end of s1, not the start of a whole new ark.

Im not sure if this is because i have already read the manga or what, the overall start was not the most hooking and gripping of a start as it is with most s2's of even the best of anime, but i do expect it to pick up pace very soon, as the next major arc of the story continues to roll in.

Okay, this is some return to a much anticipated show in my records! Doga Koba is back and boy, did they bring the big guns this time around too. In general, I think the level has risen a notch up with the animation and that pure colourful splash sequence in particular was straight out of gold. Fabulous stuff!

Akane-san's pout will go down as one of the finest in the industry, xD. It's good to see Aqua being straight-laced as ever, but it feels like he'll have to take this a tad bit more seriously. Mangaka in the end there seemed like flags all over, and gee, that scene was handled so well with the tense expressions from the Staff around. Everything, huh? Now, ain't that interesting!

Didn't get to see much of Ruby this episode but given that the ED is exclusively her, I'm sure we'll get our fill soon. Kana-chan is off to some start here along with that genius new actor character, and I loved every second of it!

Op and ED were both pretty stylish, as expected. Song-wise, it'll take a bit more time to warm up, but, for the time being, the style has won me over. Hitsujibungaku tracks aren't always the instant hit types anyway so no concerns there. A lot of Ai-san references in the Op, they're staying true to the core of the series, aren't they? Last few seconds of her clapping at the end of the performance is beautiful.

I love how this episode dives straight into the meta, examining both the actors' performances and the nuances of adapting the original material. Especially in the context of character directions and reducing/changing their role in the plot. Relevant after season 3 of Eupho, lmao. All jokes aside, I really like that they showed both the fan's and the writer's point of view.

@thebrentinator24 I'm as neutral on the ED as I was on the Season 1 ending, but the new OP is pretty catchy, especially in terms of animation and visual design.

Can't wait to see this arc animated. Its off to a strong start. The OP from Season 1 was epic, so its no wonder the S2 one felt a bit pale in comparison. Its still great though. The most important aspect though is we get to see Kana's smile again. Best girl of the season has made her debut.

Woah, the new opening is stellar!! I must've replayed it like 5 times before getting on with the episode, haha. I can't get over how well thought-out and fluid all the frames and transitions are. I'm especially impressed with the way Aqua's and Ruby's past lives and the disrepancy between their identities are reflected as a motif throughout the opening.

Oshi no Ko is back; no time was wasted with any kind of recap, and they directly started introducing the new characters. Some of them seem interesting. The best part of the episode was the rehearsal scene with Kana and Himekawa; I loved how colorful it looked.

As for the opening, I might like it more over time, but it's clear that it doesn't surpass its predecessor yet. The ending is another story; I liked it a lot. It was an entertaining episode, and with that final twist where the manga author wants to change the entire script of the play, it piqued my interest even more and will create competition among the actors.

Wow, just wow.

The stage play opening sequence was not what I was expecting.
Tbh, not really sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that.
Immersive as hell.

The opening was also super intriguing. It was almost entirely sakuga, and the direction was super interesting.

Fantastic start to my favorite arc of the series. I love how it introduced all of the important characters in Tokyo Blade in the beginning, the character designs are amazing and it makes you really psyched to see how the play will unfold. Akane, best girl, looks gorgeous with long hair. The scene where Kana is acting and crossing blades with Taiki was very hype and gave me goosebumps. A great cliffhanger to the end of the episode as well, the author of Tokyo Blade just dropped a bomb there lol.

Thankfully episode 1 wasn’t a movie this time lol, it’s good to be back just a year since the first season ended, new OP and ED are both very good but I’m ngl the OP by GEMN didn’t click with me right away, like others have said it’s hard to beat YOASOBI’s OP for Season 1 but I think with time it might be able to, also I was today years old when I realized it’s YOASOBI and not YAOSOBI lol, idk why but I mixed up the o and a all this time. I will say tho, that ED by Hitsujibungaku was awesome, I think that beats the first season’s ED easily, the Ruby centric visuals look great too.

And as I figured from the key visual, this season is focused on a play, I actually have a buddy that acts in plays so whether it’s accurate to real life or not, it is cool to see how this world is in anime form. And the play in question is a 2.5D play of a manga, I must live under a rock because I didn’t even know 2.5D plays were a thing lol, but what they showed of the rehearsals was very cool, that glasses fella Himekawa sure can act, and with Kana’s ability to match the energy around her, she’s also a god of the stage. And Akane is here too, i definitely prefer her shorter hair but the long hair ain’t a bad look, and she’s been casted a character that’s been edited down unfortunately, tho I did like the moments where she broke down the character and found out why she was changed for the play. It’s also cool seeing that Melt guy is back, and of course we have Aqua as well who is here to get hints about Ai’s killer, we gotta get through this whole play first just like the reality TV show before.

And just when everything seemed to be going well, the mangaka shows up and is brutally honest when she brings up that the whole play needs to be revised, I saw that coming lol, so I guess that means we get enjoy seeing how skilled everyone truly is in the coming episodes as they scramble to redo the whole play last minute, nothing but fun to be had here lol, looking forward to the rest of the season!

The mangaka doing something I bet many have wanted to do in years. I don't blame her either. I feel with adaptions it becomes problematic when you are flat out changing characters for the sake of your own personal vision. I can name too many book to movie adaptions that have done this.

Besides that it is good to see everyone as Aqua's goal of uncovering the truth of Ai hasn't stop. He wants to find the truth and he is wiling to play the game to get it. I do wonder what is the goal with him having a girlfriend though. I guess every guys needs a support system. Good to see Kana being awesome as usual. Lastly, I have to say they ate with both the OP and ED. Wow....I won't be skipping either at all week by week.

Season 2 is off to an extremely strong start.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.
