| Considering all the hype I heard about this episode, I'm not impressed per se. The main reason must be that I don't care a single bit about 2 MCs. They are absolutely ridiculous no matter how I look at it. I have waited for them to be punished by their stupidity and unrealistic attempt. Hope that Riko would actually lose "something" and not get away fully recover. From the look of the OP and ED, it seems like they found a capable companion. Let's see! |

| that was something...not for the squeamish for sure lol pseudo-binging this now, i didnt expect it took this far in for Nanachi to show up (since i seen Nanachi in most things as one of the centerpiece involving this series)...but it made sense with how everything has been built up so far |
| That was it? i thought it'll be darker or she gonna lose an arm for real im hoping for that, at least there's actually a price to pay but no, saved by plot... i mean, a rabbit, again, what a convenient! this is so stupid if you think about it i guess can't do shit for that MC's plot armor. Ah well I hope this annoying girl become less annoying later on, honestly with all the talk about how "scary" the Abyss is, looks like going to bottomless pit is still quite easy for the two. |

| Watching the first time it was definitely impactful, specially because after 9 episodes, all I could think about was how the show wasn't being that interesting, so this episode caught me by surprise. However, now that I'm rewatching, I can see that the only thing I can compliment are the technical aspects of the scenes like VA performances, Kevin Penkin OST and overall direction. In terms of writing, this is just pretty mediocre. But I remember that Nanachi really increase the quality of the writing afterwards, which culminates in the final episode. But if I'm wrong and the show turns out to be not that good, I'll probably have to downgrade my score. |

| Well, the moment poison got into her - I already thought about amputation.. So it's understandable outcome.. Also.. It's not even too clear, if she lost her arm or not right now with this new help?.. Another survival episode, I guess.. Action is really not my thing.. But it's alright, different strokes for different folks, really.. ;P |

| This went from interesting and mysterious 2 kids adventure into abyss to an actual horror episode which was terrifying and unpleasing at certain parts. I was pretty damn shocked while watching it. Thank god that ending felt hopefull but then that happy childish ed. after such horror is kinda funny. But anyway, this is definitely a very impressive and dark episode, the 5/5 score results speak for themselves and are well deserved |

| Oh my god... honestly, I have no idea what to say about this episode. That scene in it was just so unexpected and it was just really hard to watch. From that scene alone, I can already tell that Made in Abyss is only gonna get darker as you get further and further into it. |

| Good, graphic episode but compared to what the reception of the episode turned out to be in the end, slightly underwhelming there. Finally, there's some real damn consequences suffered by Riko for her actions and boy were they some bloody ones to say the least. Not a real fan of Nanachi just conveniently showing up to save the day just like that, but you have to do whatever to progress the plot I guess without Riko dying since she absolutely would be dead if Nanachi hadn't just shown up like that. This episode just shows that Riko should have been older or more mentally prepared with some more time other than just studying books and knowing creatures like an encyclopedia whenever she sees new creatures in different layers. I will say though, credit to the anime for retaining the brutal atmosphere of the events that occurred without censoring much, only makes the Abyss a far more interesting place to journey through in the long run and makes people question even further, is there really a way out for them? Let alone them being able to reach all the way down. |

| I'd been starting to question the comments I'd seen about about this show having some more graphic/intense scenes, and whelp, I understand now π
& while I wasn't worried about Riku's survival, I thought the scene did a good job depicting how serious the poison was. Also glad I finally get to see Nanachi! |

| Damn, I was eating. The Forth Layer, this is where horror ensues. The spiky poisonous animal has intelligence. It got Riko in the hand. Poor Reg having to fight that monster and protect Riko. His only option is to go upwards to the platform above, then the curse of the Abyss kicks in and blood spews out of Riko's body, she has hallucinations too. And her hand swells up like a balloon due to the poison. Riko tells Reg to amputate her hand. Poor kid can't really do it because Riko is in excruciating pain. Then the bunny Narahade shows up and rescues both of them. She's pretty cute. |
