I thought Akira's dad had cancer or something 😭😭😭 Finally, this show is finished πŸ’€ After such a bad production process it's finally finished. It felt like I had to wait a whole year for this to finally finish, even though it was only a few months πŸ˜… Despite the production issues though, I still had a lot of fun watching it. I doubt it's gonna get a 2nd season but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

What a emotional rollercoaster this was! I'm glad the last episode tied it well together, although I felt like it was rushed, but that's just my personal feelings with that. Overall really nice story on overwork and following your dreams. Looking forward to what else this Bug Films work on next.

That was a great, fun ride and a good set up for the next season.

Really not much to complain about.
- Good animation
- Nice character designs
- Vibrant Colors
- Fun plot
- Emotional beats in the story.
- Fantastic Unskippable OP and ED

The only problem was the release schedule and 1 quarter delay, other than that there's really not much more I can think of to nit pick.

I enjoyed the hell out of this show, the finale really delivered and the animation especially in the last episode was quite good. I liked how this show was a balance of comedy but also had its serious moments. Kencho was funny AF. Kind of surprised to see the score drop to a flat 8, I'd be sad to see it go any lower. This story felt pretty original for an anime IMO we don't see a ton of stories like this so it was refreshing.

The production delay was disappointing but in the end binging the last 3 episodes actually worked so well.

Finally manage to make it here. Honestly that's a solid end, even if its kinda abrupt when defeating that L wannabe. They all manage to survive, rebuilding the village, and dream big. Dad not so death at all actually smh. Hokkaido at their next visits. Then the previous survivors also getting revealed in well being, especially with those couple and the actor from the very first episode. Like those revelations.

In short, this is an entertaining watch. Not that great, more like a silly type of show that you just need to shut off your brain and see them complete their bucket list. But definitely its have their own charm of entertainment, especially with Shizuka, she fuckin outstanding, to make this is a decent one.

Bug Film, hope you don't get bugged.

@Kimurah You don't need to write an essay we all know that pretty well. Its so simple this anime is not for you. From my pov this is basically another konosuba with maybe less absurd and less violence (or maybe not, i dont remember much about konosuba so this is all i can say).

Of course the protagonist was going to give the antagonist a chance, dude wanted to kill everyone in the village, but the author still has to show the protagonist is a goody two shoes, lame, antagonist forfeit all chance of redemption when he allowed zombies in. Also, once again, zombie attacked Higurashi conveniently.

That was pretty solid. Nothing really quite blows you away apart from the first episode, but at least it maintains consistent quality throughout. I especially like how the released all 3 remaining episodes together, and on Christmas to beat. I'd say despite having to wait quite a while, it's a job well done. Will certainly be ready for more.

The goal has changed. This isn't living life to the fullest. Akira has changed his goal. That bucket list is nice but now dying will be seen as failure. I want people to understand that. Besides that, this was a good final arc with problems. I felt killing off the villains was a miss as having a group constantly wanting to cause trouble while one is trying to live life to the fullest would have been great. We are back to the zombies being our only "villains". I also feel some of the humor can get a little childish the toilet humor has no place in zombie anything if you ask me. Also, the animation wasn't great throughout. Let's hope this team takes time to really think about their mistakes during this season and come back with a much better season 2.

8 out of 10.

@curvedtree Well gotta remember Akira is kind of a dumb ass so it's in character for him to do this even if I agree with you. I do think the series needs to realize just because your character is kind of a goofball doesn't mean they are devoid of common sense.

It feels good to be able to finish off Zom 100 after the 3 month delay, where this arc was a reminder of to why I had great fun watching this series when it started back in the Summer.

While having to deal with a zombie invasion by Higurashi's awful crew braking the peace that the village had, it was good to see the main cast working hard to rally up the villager to fight back, as well as hold their own against the four members of Higurashi's crew.

Higurashi himself got the better flashback treatment, so at least us viewers got a better understanding as to what led him to become the way he is. Although on the reckless side, Akira was able to get around Higurashi's threat and finally got some sense into his head, although it felt ironically fitting that Higurashi himself would get bit by a zombie. Still, at least he had a decent closure before signing out for good.

Komura was the MVP of the episode, in making the makeshift bridge in time to help every safely across to get away from the zombies. It's also thanks to him that everyone together can rebuild the village now that the zombies have been locked up in the tunnel once again. Unsurprisingly, Akira's group does leave the village to continue their journey, although I do hope that they'll come back here again in the future, since some of the villagers and refugees were good in their own way, especially Angie and how well she got along with Kencho. =)

Overall, although the delay did kill off some of the hype of the series, I still enjoyed Zom 100 quite a bit. It's goofy with its story approach, but it does make it more fun and charming because of it. I'll settle for an 8/10 overall and hope that next year will have fewer anime series (or better yet, none) getting delays from production issues, as 2023 had a handful too many of shows getting delays.

I rewatched a few minutes of ep 1 and it's crazy how much better than the last few episodes is. Just like Oshi no Ko, another anime that stopped being good after 1 episode but I refused to accept it and kept coping for way too long, and the opposite of Nier:Automata, an anime that I didn't like that much at first but for some reason I started loving with the post hiatus episodes.

@MasterHavik If this gets a season 2 there will be plenty of moments like this too, just like how he became "enslaved" by his old boss again, I hated that episode.

About the protagonist, that thing is a matter beyond of his character, authors do that to ultimately show how their protagonist still gave the bad guy a shot to redeem themselves, because the protagonist has to be some sort of good moral compass. I hate this redemption trope, specially when they try to humanise the antagonists moments before killing them - Demon Slayer did this often and it was even more annoying.

@curvedtree The difference there is Tanjiro is not only a good but is a very honorable and passionate person so it makes sense why he acts like that...but that doesn't mean what they do in that show is good...it's not but Demon Slayer's writing drives me up a damn wall. I don't want to go on a rant on it for now.

Also keep in mind he became enslaved just so Kencho can get treated. There are reasons behind this at least but do feel authors gotta stop doing that in general and remember what common sense is. I really like Akira but what I don't like about him is he is kind of a dumbass to a point it's very annoying. Like with his former boss he didn't need to stand up to him when him being able to make it on his own in this world is proof enough of that. I do think we need to remember there is also a shift in goals instead of living life to the fullest they want to save the world actually. So if the series is well written, they start to do what is right to save humanity and not what pleases them because, "lol I am going to die anyway!"

I've seen 11 seasons of TWD and 7 seasons of FTWD, I think I'm done with anything related with zombie-survival series!

So dude stood up to a great white shark zombie but folded as soon as some edge lord standing on a boldozer (which he isn't even controlling he's just standing on top of it and also he's unarmed) was about to kill his father. Then the edge lord sends 3 zombies after mc aftherwhile the mc just fought off like 15 zombies by myself but these 3 were too much. Then after that was all like hey you destroyed my hometown village and killed a bunch of villagers and tried to kill my parents but we can be friends hehe! Mc is insufferable and has no common sense. The two fmc are way better.

I feel bad about Higurashi and his friends. But their suffering was completely brought upon themselves. It just shows how easy it is to make wrong decisions and completely ruin your life.

It's a miracle that everyone in the village survived. And the village is being rebuilt. All thanks to Akira and his friends I guess.

Glad that Akira's dad's condition wasn't that serious... It means we might see him again in the future. It was also wholesome that he's proud of his son.

Loved this anime. It was a great season finale. It's just unfortunate that the delays happened.

I hope Season 2 comes. I'd watch the shit out of it. But hopefully, then the studio will get the appropriate time and treatment to make a complete season without any horrible delays. It should be embarrassing that an anime that started out criticizing exploitative companies became a victim of the same thing.

This episode had me tearing up man, for being a fairly silly and over-the-top show it really holds a lot of touching sentiments. Hate to admit it but the final Higurashi scene hit me where it hurt, his life experiences and final wish were all too similar to mine. Of course he deserved what he got, just hard to completely hate him. Also this was one of the best performances from Nobuhiko Okamoto I've heard, his range is even crazier than I thought and it felt like he poured everything he had into this role. So good!!

Glad these last episodes turned out great despite the difficulties. Hoping for a S2 or at least more projects from this studio in the future, they clearly have passion and ambition.

I'll miss this show a ton! It was always such a great reminder to not let the dreariness of life pull you away from the things you love and want to do. <3

Well if you’re gonna take months off for production delays this is how you resume a show. The time off clearly paid off in the direction, art and animation in all of these episodes. The Gunma village arc was emotional and feels like the true start of this story.

I don’t really feel bad for Higurashi because lots of people struggle to make friends, doesn’t mean you kill innocent people and try to turn someone into a zombie because they’re happier than you. Especially when the flashback showed Akira and his friends reaching out to Higurashi to be his friend, and even in the village when they saw him a couple episodes ago they tried being friendly. So rip bozo.

Same with long haired chick who was working with him and fought Beatrice. A little introspection would do a world of good to that group.

What did really hit was Akira and his dad’s bonding moments. When we found out that his dad had been asking about him ever since he left for Tokyo, not just the outbreak, I couldn’t help but get a little emotional. Doesn’t matter how old they get, your kids will always be your babies. Akira now sees the best way to give back to your parents is to just spread the same love and empathy they gave to you. Sweet message.

I’m glad his dad condition ended up being haemorrhoids too instead of something like cancer. I was really scared when he started talking about not having much time left. Nice comedic end to a really powerful last couple of eps.

And with everyone adding their own desires to the “bucket list of the dead” we’re off to Hokkaido! Idk how much further ahead the manga is, but I’ll be there no matter what

I can't tell if I'm supposed to feel bad for Higurashi and the rest of his people. None of Higurashi's backstory made me feel bad for the actions he's pulling now.

The rest, I did enjoy the fact that they're just assholes becoming villains without any actual sad backstory.
